We got the large, which was recommended for dogs 70 lbs or less for our 80 lb dog, because the huge was too big. It would be helpful if they expanded the large size by about 2 inches a side. The other problem is that it is really a magnet for fur. I don’t know if it is more noticeable because it is a bright color. We are still very happy with our purchase. The same is true for pine bedding. If you are going to ise woodcshavinhs as bedding for small pets, aspen is the safest choice! There is nothing inherently wrong with cedar shavings, but it is very imoportant to know how to appropriately for the type of pet you have! And unfortunately, you cant trust that the employees even at pet stores will advise you correctly. I have personally experienced being reccomended pine and cedar shavings for gerbils abd hedgehogs by employees at multiple pet stores. I used this in my cats litter box now. It is better than kitty litter, smells good, when it starts to stink it isn't just oh its good for a couple more days like litter stinks and works it way up to the day it needs to be changed. This doesn't stink until it is absolutely soiled and its ready to be changed that day or so. I like that because you don't smell anything until it really is ready to be changed. You don't scoop anything, you just dump it out, i put my cats litter box in the shower and wash it with soap and water, dry it and then rub some light lotion on the inside of the bottom and top on the inside of both of them. Once I had to wash this massive, VERY furry white blanket, it became apparent it will be too much work to maintain. Firstly, it sheds HORRIBLY. My dogs shed badly enough. Needing to wash this with 7 deep water soaks, it still never totally got the smell out. It’s become apparent this blanket is basically a sponge that is impossible to fully clean due to its size and faux fur loft. Bonus: it clogs the washing machine and needs to be air dried. Good luck. I’ve gotten two waterproof throw blankets in original size and both are excellent quality and wash very well. I wash them like normal and hang dry them. They dry very quickly and then when fully dry. I throw them in dryer for less then ten minutes to fluff it back up. Then it looks exactly like day I bought them. Hang drying them can make them last longer but when you hang dry most things. It can look less fluffy. Like a stuffed animal that looks old but I literally put it in dryer for less then ten minutes after it’s hung dried and it brings back the fluffy brand new look. When I saw this advertisement I was instantly drawn to its chic luxurious look. And I will say when it arrived it completely met my expectations. Looked and felt great. It collects a lot of fur and dirt and tend to hold onto smells in its fiber which calls for frequent washing, which is fine. I have had many problems with this unit long term. First use was wonderful, but shortly later the batteries corroded. Since then, I have cleaned all the contacts and greased and installed new batteries and all was working again. Now, the sanding disk is slipping and so does NOT grind the nails. The disk is still in good shape and I even still have the second new disk to replace it with, but they BOTH slip and do not grind the nails consistently. It is like the rubber has shrunk and doesn't hold the sanding disk secure. TOTALLY disappointing. The furminator brush is just so effective, it is SUCH a disappointment to see that the nail clipper is such poor quality and so short lived.kugiej
I am not pleased with the Furminator as the little grinding bands do not stay in place, but tend to slide down the tumbler out of reach. On the slower speeds they will stop rotating if even slight pressure is applied. I am very happy with how quiet this grinder is and I like the plastic guard. It's comfortable to hold, but it doesn't work well. I have 2 dogs, one medium size with almost clear white nails and a larger dog with dark nails.gmac
I was planning on purchasing this product, based on it being apparently approved, advertised, and sold through 1800PetMeds. After reading the reviews, which are very fee and not very positive, I have definitely changed my mind. I will continue searching other products and providers for a similar product for my dog. When I saw this available through 1800PetMeds, I definitely expected much better reviews, and a better product. Disappointed & confused. I love my mice, but they're insanely stinky. I refuse to use any wood based beddings since they have a higher chance of causing respiratory system infections and skin irritations, so I've stuck with paper based. They prefer softer bedding, like the original Kaytee, but the odor control was so minimal that I had to go back to Carefresh and just use the softer bedding in their nesting areas. I finally caved and decided to give this one a try, even though it was significantly more money for the bag size. I'm so glad I tried it out! Not only does it work better than Carefresh for odor control, but it's so soft that I can use it in their nesting areas too.
