OK I needed to get my younger boy to check himself with the over excessive barking but I never wanted to use anything like the shock collar which to me is a little inhumane. The one thing I noticed that did work is spraying him with a water bottle,however that’s not practical when he’s far away in the yard or trying to chase him down to do it. This was the perfect solution I can’t believe I didn’t know about this! It fit him perfect was easy to adjust with plenty of room till the perfect fit so I’m sure it’ll fit almost all dogs. It was very easy to set up you just pop one of the little spray refill cartridges which it came with two,unscented and citronella and so far we are on the unsented. It has a USB charging cable which was also convenient. Although in my pic I have the collar on his back it has to go under his neck I just did that for the picture you might have to trim your dogs fur under his neck which I did and it worked much better. The battery life is awesome all depending on how much your dog barks we are on almost 2 months the first week or two before your dog gets used to it it will use more obviously. My dog has her mouthy moments and like yo bark at everyone that walks by my house. I recently tried the Premier Pet™ Spray Bark Collar to try and calm her from obnoxiously barking. The collar adjusted to her neck size with ease, along with a easy to use buckle. The collar has an easy opening small door that you load with the spray deterrent that holds 35 sprays each. When I put it on my dog and she began to bark the collar went off and sprayed her. She immediately stopped barking and started to run in circles around me seemingly confused as to what what happening – but she stopped barking! After a few instances of this happening she caught on and the barking stopped! The collar definitely does exactly what it is made to do, and I find it to be alot less cruel then a shock collar! We have a 4 year old German Shepherd who has never barked at anything until just recently. The more we socialize her with other dogs she learns more behaviors. Some not so good ones kinda like her barking at people walking down the street, or a squirrel in the yard, or sometimes she just barks to hear herself! This. This collar was a life saver! My dog is very well trained and very obedient but didn't want to listen when we would redirect her from barking. It seemed to just make it worse if anything. I'll first start by saying I never do reviews. However I was at my wits end with our nine month old chiweenie. I thought my husband was going to kill me and the dog…and I was praying my neighbors did not have guns because this little 8 pound cutie barked like a 100 lb squealing pig at anything and everything! Previous to this device I tried the citronella collar and the ultrasonic remote. Neither phased her. I will say on day one I thought this thing was a piece of junk. I called pet safe and learned that the collar needs to be tightly fitted on the dogs neck or it will not work. After adjusting the collar and I was still on the phone with the representative my Daisy girl went outside and I witnessed it working immediately. We still have some light barking which I imagine occurs before the strengthened static but it is completely manageable. I will say after reading the reviews we have lucked out with the battery… It has been in use with an aggressive Barker for a month and still has not needed to be replaced. Our only downside is that the collar is bulky… I take it off when she comes inside. If I do forget to put it on when she goes outside she will bark up a storm again! I bought two Basic Static Bark collars to help alleviate my puggle's and beagle's separation anxiety barking when we are not at home. The collars are fitted properly and in accordance with instructions and the batteries are working, yet BOTH dogs continue to bark. The biggest problem is that both collars tend to move to one side of the dogs' necks, so the dogs are probably not receiving the static correction. The directions state to "REPOSITION THE COLLAR ON THE PET'S NECK EVERY 1 TO 2 HOURS.." Obviously, if we are not home, this is impossible to do. I wasted almost $100 on collars that do not work on either dog. Petsafe customer service recommended that I should purchase the more expensive Deluxe Petsafe Collar. No thanks. I bought this about a week ago after I received a complaint from a neighbor and was given a warning from our HOA for disturbance. We had just moved in about a month ago and didnt want to make enemies. My dog barks at everything. From shadows, birds to airplanes. I decided to give this a try. I got this bark collar for my two dogs and it worked wonderfully for a few months. They completely stopped barking! But then, the battery wouldn't stay charged. I was told that I might be doing something wrong that ruined the battery. Customer Service was uber helpful (5 stars for them!) and they sent me a new collar for free. I ended up going through five collars in just a few months with the same problem each time. The rechargeable battery is the only problem with this product, but it is a huge problem. When I finally asked Customer Service if they had any spray collars with a different type of battery, they directed me to the Elite Spray Bark Collar. When I got the collar they only had the one for little dogs, but it still works amazingly for my big dogs! It does all the same things as the rechargeable one except that it uses non-rechargeable batteries. These batteries last way longer than the rechargeable one though so it's a win-win! I highly suggest looking at the Elite Spray Bark Collars!!!NIKKI 😉
Supposed to have 35-45 sprays but it sure didn’t. We put the collar on him and angled the camera so we could watch him and try to train him to stop. He barked and it sprayed. He continued to bark. It continued to spray. It shut off like it’s supposed to. We went in and the whole place smelled like citronella. We walked back out after trying to calm him. He barked and it sprayed. He kept barking and then it stopped spraying and started flashing that it was out. The. Citronella cartridge only had maybe 5-8 sprays. We had to leave for a few hours that afternoon and we put the unscented cartridge in. After being gone for only an hour or two it was empty as well. We watched video of him and he continued to bark through the sprays. It had no effect. However, it also only had maybe 10ish sprays in it total. The cartridges aren’t worth the money as they don’t have what they are supposed to have in them. The collar was not worth the money as the spray didn’t even phase our dog. Maybe it works for others but it didn’t do anything for us apart from leave a citronella smell in the air for a few minutes.MarkD504
For starters I am not a person who usually leaves reviews but this product deserves it! I bought two of these collars for my two of my noisier dogs. I have tried everything to control their barking – trying to distract them with treats, spraying them with water to correct the behaviour, using high frequency clicker and using a training collar that I would beep if they barked as a warning and then it would vibrate if they barked again. None of these worked so I gave up for a bit, until I saw this collar come up as I was researching new collars to try – I decided to give it a shot since it was different than the methods I have previously tried. My god, it is incredible! I put the collar on my noisiest dog, a terrier, (his barking is out of control) and he barked once and it sprayed him and he has not barked since – I went from having him bark at every little sound he heard outdoors to peace and quiet. I love this product and I highly recommend it! P.S. It also works for my other dog, my terrier just gets her hyped up with his barking but now they are my quiet little hellhounds 🙂lbll12

Let me prequalify this by saying that I am a fan of PetSafe Products. The Stay and Play Wireless fence and the Large Dog Citronella Anti-Bark Collars have worked flawlessly for my medium size indoor/outdoor pup. I also have a 1.5 year old Yorkie, and the PetSafe Elite Little Dog Spray Bark Control has design and operational flaws that I can't overlook: 1. The unit's sensor is not a typical rear sensor, and it doesn't pick-up normal barking unless it is high intensity (this is WHEN it works). 2. The unit does not last for the full amount of sprays. 3. The unit has to be at a high level of tightness to the point of almost choking the dog to remain in place in order to be correctly positioned to both pick-up the barking and deliver the spray. 4. The unit does not have an ON/OFF switch other than turning the battery, and then you have to manipulate even that when wanting to reset the bark counter. The bark counter should be reset in the electronics when the battery is removed if that's the case and reflect this in the refill directions for the spray. At the end of the day, I have use spray collars for my outdoor dog at my home for years, so I am familiar with the quirks. I have remained faithful to PetSafe, and they never let me down. The Elite Little Dog Spray collar is not up to their usually high standards. I have bought one, exchanged one, and bought another to give this product a fair chance, and I am heading to Petco this morning to return the last one as a disappointed customer. I have moved to an apartment from a home in the process of building a new house, so it is imperative that I be able to reinforce that excess barking is not acceptable. I bought two of these and neither of them worked. The first one worked for about a week of occasional use. Then it started leaking a steady, tiny hiss of spray from the intake hole. Months later, on a road trip w/now 2 small dogs I picked up 2 of the older, silver models that use the 6 volt batteries. They still work great (2 years later, intermittent use for overnights away from home or having exciting visitors that the dogs celebrate vocally, Enthusiastically, unceasingly. Also for occasional backyard relaxing if the neighbor kids get the dogs too excited.) I shared one with my sister for her dog on a hotel overnight and it was a revelation to her. I tried to buy her one but can only find the new “elites” with that proprietary battery so I caved, hoping the leaky one I had was a fluke. I got a few inconsistent sprays out of it, many barks without spray, then it just quit completely. I tried a new battery, refilled the spray and The lights did their thing correctly when I followed the steps to turn it on. Then I tested it by loudly barking right up against The back of it, tapping the back of it, holding it against my own throat and trying different tones of loud singing and yelling… nothing. I’ve wasted too much $ on the bad new design ones that don’t work. I really wish I could get another old silver model one to give my 4 legged niece. I must admit, I was skeptical of these kinds of products, but because my 12-year-old Shih Tzu has been exhibiting a lot of separation anxiety for the past few years–resulting in lots of barking and a neighbor complaining — I decided to give it a try. In short, it's been a God send! After wearing the collar for only one or two days, my dog got the "message," and stopped barking completely. In fact, she's become a much calmer dog as a result. I've had the product now for about six weeks now, and barking is no longer an issue. So, I am amazed and very happy with this product. I initially bought a shock collar, but didn't have the heart to use it on her, so I opted for this spray-style collar and couldn't be happier. I only have one minor complaint: Activating the collar requires turning a dial with a coin. Unfortunately, when turning, you have to be real precise and hit exact spot, which can be hard to do sometimes. If you turn a bit too far or not enough, it will not activate. So, you have to kind of fool around with it to find the precise "On" position. Other than this, I am very pleased.

The collar has some pretty big (1") sensor probes that look not so comfortable on the neck, probably necessary for the deterrent. The on/off is pretty sensitive to get it on, you need a dime or something to turn on/off which is good so when the dog wears it the normal movements won't accidentally turn it off. That being said, it is necessary to move it around to the exact position and confirm green light that it is on. You can't just turn it to the word ON, it may need to be ever so slightly adjusted a fraction one way or the other to make sure it is on. Our particular experience seemed to work well on our dog, it only took a couple of times of it vibrating to startle our dog and get her to realize that it was because she barked. It didn't seem to vibrate on growling only barking and we had it pretty tight and her hair is short. It would not be something you would want to leave on your dog forever because I am sure the probes in the neck are not so comfortable for the dog. Overall my dog has reduced her barking about 90% even without the collar on. If she has a particular barking episode on our lanai we put the collar back on for a while and she figures it out. She does seem pretty sad with it on but she is learning quickly and hopefully it won't be for long. The vibration doesn't seem to hurt her, just startle her and that does the job. I think the results could really vary from dog to dog and maybe the breed tendencies play into it. I tried the bird house bark control device with disastrous results (see my review). I needed something, because my outside, extremely nervous, submissive dog barks incessantly. A harsh word, and she reacts as if she's been struck, which she never is. She flinched with sudden moves. This led me to be extremely cautious when seeking a bark control collar. I discussed it with my vet, and we decided that due to her personality, a vibration collar would probably be the best choice. It has been fantastic! Purchased the Petsafe Basic Bark Control Collar – PBC19-10765 in March 2019. Fast forward 7 months, I wish I had purchased The BarkCollar by DogWatch – No Bark Trainer BT-7 in the first place. Spending the extra money and doing your research is worth it! We have a Labrador and we noticed a sudden change in her behaviour when we moved house. 5am pedestrians and dog walkers and foxes passing by would set her off and we’d often have to get out of bed to give positive reinforcement or bring her inside. In the beginning, I purchased the the Petsafe Basic Bark Control Collar – PBC19-10765. It came with free Replacement Batteries and I purchased an extra pack to save on future postage. Initially, our Labrador responded quickly and barking reduced, however, I don’t believe this was the correct unit for our girl. Her irritability and persistent barking returned to full on annoyance after about four weeks. We replaced the first two complementary batteries, every 4-6 weeks and by August, I purchased 2 replacement Petsafe Red Nylon Straps, as they deteriorate and become too loose. Purchased for my bull arab (50kg) who goes barking mad on the way to the beach in the tray of the ute. It's only excitement but upsets all other dogs around. I only put it on 3-4 and he barked once, then was quiet for the rest of the ride. Exactly what i was after Only ever have had to use it on level 2 and it has shocked my dog maybe twice and she doesn’t really bark much at all anymore. I only have to put it on every now and again if she gets barky again but it’s made an amazing difference in our home. Our dogs were barking all day everyday and we live on a corner block so whenever anyone walked past they would bark their heads off and wake the baby. Now they walk to the fence and sniff. We have a very very stubborn German Shepherd male who barks through all of the cheaper collars we have bought him. The 435 X series is really nice and has a small remote control that fits into my hand (I am only 5'4). The XS series is stronger (for large dogs that can be stubborn) and was too much for my need… that's why I really wanted the X series. The 825 X is the same as the 425 X except is has a longer distance reach (1/2 mile) but the remote is a little big bigger. Works great…. make sure you read the manual for the different settings and understand that this is not a training tool per say but a corrective tool (meaning your dog has to know and understand commands BEFORE using it)…Do NOT use as a punitive tool. The nice thing is this item allows you to choose either tone, vibration, or static mode. 99% of the time I only need to use vibration for my dog to get his attention (he cN get sobfocused on a scent that he doesn't pay attention to my commands). He sometimes takes off after a rabbit/wild pig etc. and that's when I have to use the static mode to quickly get his attention away from his chase. I really like that it is waterproof (my dog swims into ponds and rivers)…some other brands claim to be waterproof but really mean to say water resistant! I have tried everything I knew with this dog, built a relationship with him, treats, toys, praise and I wasn’t able to find anything that would motivate him to actually follow the commands that I knew he knew. I was afraid to use a “shock collar” because I thought it was going to be cruel but it had been 5 months where this 3 year old pit was with me and there seemed to be no progress. I really was not able to find something that worked. I was at a loss and willing to try just about anything. I watched some of the training videos on sportdog’s page. I ended up buying this and I charged it up like they said. I then tried it on myself first. I was very surprised, it reminded me of a tens machine that the chiropractor uses, not what I thought it was going to be at all. Worked great kept my chihuahua in the yard after only a few days of training. the sad part is we had him finally trained to stay in the yard wo a lead and a neighbors pit (one of 4) dug under their fence and attacked him & me. Although he survived The initial attack (and the shock collar survived as well as it was bitten off & scratched but still works) my dog died a week later from complications before surgery. This works great on my Pomeranian. I needed something to keep him from running into the road, onto the school bus with my kids, or into the neighbors yards. I don't even have to use the shock setting, the vibrate setting on 80-100 works wonders. He now comes when I call him without me having to use it. The only negative thing about this collar is that you have to pair it every time you recharge it, and one time I forgot. Definitely worth the money.Winter
This is an effective tool to train your dog with options to not have to shock the dog unnecessarily. The collar has a good range as my dog has come running back from 4 houses down on the first day when we used it the first time. It has a beep warning that has been very effective in the training process. As soon as my dog hears that beep it stops and sits. It also has a vibration that I use instead of the shock that is very effective. It has an intensity level that can be set. I bought the bark collar for my small breed dog who whines constantly & barks at every noise she hears. The collar worked great the first month, and then started shocking her randomly, when she wasn’t making a noise, and then quit all together. I tried to reset it per the instruction manual, and it didn’t work. I have made sure it’s on her neck properly, the green light has still been flashing saying it’s charged after 6wks. The PetSafe bark collar is a basic bark collar with built in levels of correction. repeated barking activate higher levels of correction. In the base model, programming is done with the on/ off button. Confirmation of operation is accomplished by audio feedback. My hearing is not the best, and I had to hold the collar right next to my ear to hear the tones, but otherwise operation is strait forward I tried the collar on two different size dogs with excellent results. One was a medium size dog, a standard Poodle of about 40 pounds and the other, a small dog, a Schipperke, about 12 lbs. Both dogs responded well to the collar. I purchased this product for a new puppy who was being crate trained in an apartment. I chose this particular model because of the 15 incremental levels of correction and because of the recharging feature. I have used other models in the past and spent a fortune on model specific batteries. The collar itself was easy to fit. Even on a three month old puppy. It worked as advertised delivering incremental correction upon detecting a whine or bark. The problem is the dog failed to cease barking instead increasing his barks to the given correction. The collar was removed and another attempt was made to use the collar again with the same results. Two other attempts were made but by then the dog became visibly agitated at the site or placement of the collar. I returned the collar to tractor supply without any difficulties for a full refund. I decided to follow a more holistic approach and purchased Naturvet Hemp Quiet Moments soft chews. These chews given 45 minutes before crating do the trick and he now enters and remains quiet. It has taught him his crate is his safe space. The Naturvet product was purchased at Tractor Supply. I have owned several collars over the years and purchased this to replace a Tri-Tronics XLS. The construction is lightweight, yet durable. I like the flexible configuration; even though, I had to call SportDog tech support to get it set the way I wanted. The e collar portion works great, the audible location beacon is far from what I expected. It was money wasted. The point function is always on, so if the dog stops for 10 seconds it goes off. I am disappointed that the collar receiver (shock/vibrate) portion does not respond to the tone. I thought that there would be tone, vibrate and shock capability of the shock portion of this collar. The tone button only works the beeper which is useless if the beeper is not on the dog. Also upset that the locate function of the beeper does not have the capability to change the tone from the tone that is already in use on the dog. The instructions are easy to follow and the collars are adjustable so they can be for large or small dogs. The clip makes it easy for putting the collar on and off. You are supposed to give your dog a break from these around their neck like any of other training collar. My dogs all I need is the beep and the vibration options but it does have a shock option as well and the vibration and shock are adjustable. This really is a tremendously different product. 127 settings seemed overwhelming to me. As I use this more and more as I train my dog, I’m able to see what that really means. In the past, collars I’ve used only had a few settings, so moving up or down a notch so to say was a dramatic difference, while the dogtra allows me to fine tune the stim very minimally until I find my dogs “number” for the variety of situations. I feel this is really helping the bond with my dog and therefore training is improved.MountainGSD
I bought the Dogtra 280C to use with my very active and agile 1 year old Toy Austrailian Sheppard for stopping unwanted behaviors like digging up my lawn and attacking the cat. The transmitter and receiver both hold charges for days, and easily sync by just holding the two units next to one another at the red dots for a second. The 1/2 mile range is more than enough to reach out and touch her for a friendly reminder to come in for supper. The LCD screen is super nice to see stimulation level at night or when I don't have my glasses with me. My girlfriend owns my dogs twin brother, he also needed corrective training, therefor being as pleased as I am with the performance of my Dogtra 280C, I couldn't help but buy one for her to use with him as well.Red Dogg 47

Following the instructions (even in Chinglish) resulted in just what was advertised: vibrations and a sonic tone that has reduced both the frequency and volume of barking by our 9-year old yapper. He gets one free bark before the device activates. Who says old dogs can't learn new tricks? Other (more expensive) solutions we tried before did not work because of his long hair.pate9339
