My BT recently passed away and my Chihuahua has been grieving as she is lonely. Got her a snuggle buddy and these warming packs to go in it. I ordered this to try to provide a feral cat who stays by my house a little more warmth during recent bitterly cold nights. As a feral, she’s finicky about where she sleeps, I suspect for safety reasons. She seems to love this pad. I put it in a cardboard box for her and she did not hesitate to sleep on it. I felt the pad (she does let me touch her) and could feel the warmth radiating back. It’s a winner for her and I am much happier knowing she has a source of warmth on winter nights. My emotional support cat/ adventure buddy goes on all of our hiking and camping adventures with us. Currently living in Alaska but we do a lot of traveling. He claimed this bag as his own the moment I brought it out of the bag and set it on the floor. He sleeps in it like it’s his own little sleeping bag. And when it’s time for hikes I found that the attachment lead on the inside was still a little too long to keep him from jumping out so I tied a knot in it which solved the problem. He has plenty of room to sit and look out or lay down and hide from the wind when it’s chilly outside. When I don’t tie him down he has figured out how to turn around and stand on the back with his paws and head on my shoulder so he can watch where we are going, and if he doesn’t want to walk he will turn himself around and slide down into the bag, so if I don’t put the rods in place inside the bag I just reach around and hold the back open for him. I tend to keep the rods attached in the back for more stability against my back. I like to do weekend back packing trips and I wish there was some sort of attachment piece that could hold more supplies and clip to the carabiner attachments at the bottom. Over all I love this bag, I find it comfortable and easy to use, instructions for the rod use was attached to the tag. Wish they attached a little better then just those little loops but or like another reviewer said attach on the outside somehow. I did a similar mod so thought I would share what I did. I'm not crafty so it's a little messy, but it works perfectly. I cut a hole in the existing roll-down flap, then used hot glue and double-sided bias tape to attach it. If I were to do it again, I would hot glue the mesh directly to the inside and glue bias tape on the edges outside to give it a finished look. I tried to get a pic of her inside with the flap down but she's black and gray so you can't tell she's in it. I'll probably add a couple very small mesh cutouts at the top of the bag. Took about two hours since, again, I am not at all crafty so went slow because I was convinced I'd ruin it. It hasn't been long enough to know how well it holds up but my dog is pretty chill and it seems very sturdy. Happy modding!Nichol
I bought this almost 3 years ago and have used it so much abs it’s held up like new this entire time. My dog weighs around 13lbs and loves going for rides. Brian is 16, hiking is much slower these days but now he can be included because of this backpack. It’s so comfortable to wear, I have never had any back or shoulder pain from wearing this for hours in a day hiking. I feel confident he’s comfortable the entire hike in this. Would absolutely recommend buying this, worth the cost. I love that you can set the bag down and it holds up or you can lay down as well. I ordered two of these backpacks, in both sizes, for my two pups, 40 and 60 lbs, respectively. The smaller pack doesn't hold much, some supplies and treats. The Big Baxter I'm able to pack with a day's worth of water for both of them. I love these packs and both dogs are happy to wear them. Kurgo advertises eight adjustment points….USE THEM ALL! Backpacks should fit snug. Loose backpacks sway, which causes chafing. The bags themselves I moved up as close as I could to the dog's spine to avoid unnecessary swinging. I conditioned my dogs over the course of several weeks, increasing weight and adjusting straps as necessary to make sure both stayed well and comfortable, checking for indentions from a too tight pack and raw places from chafing. We found our sweet spot relatively quickly and we've had zero issues with several day hikes. Once it's adjusted, it stays there! They can run and also rest while wearing these packs. One of my dogs has a strong prey drive and this pack keeps her focused and on trail. And while it's important to balance the two sides, a couple of pounds difference isnt a big deal in this pack as long as it's properly fitted. I've used other packs where that wasn't the case, and also packs that needed constant adjusting. I use zip ties to secure the loose length of strap. One of my dogs is a pitbull so has very little hair, and she's had no issues with rubbing or hair loss. I keep medical tape in her pack along with a towel so I can dry her off if she gets wet to help protect her skin, but so far so good! It seems durable, I've seen no fraying or seams tearing. The Baxter Dog Backpack has a been a great addition to Gunny's and My hiking routine. I don't have to carry as much of his stuff into my day pack and that helps me keep up with his high speed pace in little ways. The fact that he can now carry out his own waste, after I bag it, in his own pack is a nice little accent to our trips. Getting the weight right in the saddle bags at the start of each hike takes a bit, but nothing we haven't gotten used to. Along with carrying his own travel bowl he can often carry some of his own water for the day. The sizing and buckle points are easy to access and attach, and he always seems plenty comfortable. The Loop Tackles on the side are a nice aesthetic, in that they look like what is on my own packs, but are not really useful for much since most things I could attach would be so weighty they would immediately put him out of balance. I have made use of them with bug spray spray pens but that's really about it, and those were already on my own gear and hardly impacting my own space requirements. I think if you wanted to loose tie quick access dog waste bags the loops could serve some good use, of course that's assuming you don't access them from a roll already, but I haven't been able to find much use of the cargo loops as of yet. Overall, a great pack for your dog to hike around with.Chris J
Needed a smaller pack for our shepherd. Picked up the small Baxter. Carries a smaller load well, straps don't cause any rubbing issues on the dog. However, the straps attaching the packs to the harness keep slipping, and the packs drop lower and lower. I cut off the sewn in tabs and doubled the webbing back through the buckle, but they still dont hold. Might have to sew the webbing on. Maybe stiffer webbing and/or better quality buckle is needed. Id give it a much higher rating if there was no slippage. Cant comment on long term durability yet, but three days of with extensive thrashing through Dwarf Birch hasn't shown any obvious wear issues. Additionally, maybe waterproof fabric and zippers could be used?PCYT

Its an ok product. Had to cut a bigger tail hole for my pug, i think the small size wouldn't be big enough around her waist. I bought simple solutions disposable diapers for my lab who is incontinent. I was very disappointed in this product for the simple fact that the product size ranges are woefully wrong. the extra large size that I purchased which stated it would fit a german shepherd did not go anywhere near my lab who is quite small for a lab and would not fit my german shepherd either. To say I wasted my money is an understatement. I would not recommend this product to anyone and I feel very cheated.Ann G

This kennel is strong. The tie-down holes, one per corner, go through both the top half and the bottom half of the kennel, which is an excellent improvement over no tie down holes. Another improvement over the old version is that water cannot collect on top since there are no bowl-like indentations on the top. The door is heavy construction, and can be mounted as Left or Right swing. I put the kennel on the passenger's side of the vehicle so that I can use the empty space behind the driver for carrying a jug of water, leashes, and other stuff. The advertised length is 40", but be aware that the usable length or "inside" length is 33". This is adequate if your dog is 33" or less from the top of the tail to the end of his front nails, while lying in the "sphinx" position. ONE CON: There are no drainage holes in the bottom half. I plan to drill my own (well, get the hubby to do it). A suggestion for the manufacturer: Make a Truck Version of the kennel. It would be the same as this except for two changes: (1) Add drain holes, and (2) Make the top rear panel (opposite the door) from transparent acrylic, so the driver can see through it. This would be a safety feature, as the blind spot would be reduced.Karen
Excellent dog kennel/crate, easy to assemble and relatively lightweight, but strong. Came with extra fasteners for the top and bottom sections, which I have put aside for possible future use. Also has nice hand hold areas underneath the rim on both sides of the kennel for carrying/lifting.

Purchased Halti harness as last resort to control large pup. Due to urgent surgery at 12 weeks of age and essential crating post-operative 24/7 (except for toilet breaks) for 5 weeks following her procedure, the critical period of training unfortunately couldn't be completed during this time frame. Once able to commence training, she had grown significantly, was very strong and strong willed … finding a harness / lead to assist with her training was difficult until stumbling across the Halti harness. For her, this has proven to be the most successful in controlling and assisting with her training … certainly working for my husband and I, and our dog.Sue
Bought this product for a 7 month old puppy that is still learning to walk on lead and pulls so badly on a flat collar that she starts to choke herself. Fitting of the harness was very easy and adjusting the straps very simple. The inclusion of the clasp that attaches to the collar is a very good idea as it helps center the front of the harness as well as a safety precaution if the harness comes loose. I was suprised by how well the harness worked, there was no pulling right from the start. When my puppy gets over-excited (e.g. sees another dog) she attempts to pull but is easily controlled compared to the flat collar. I find the straps need readjusting fairly regularly and as they get loose the harness becomes less effective. This could be overcome by stitching in place at correct adjustment but as my dog is still growing I don't want to do that just yet. Overall I am very happy with the harness and it suits my purpose of continuing to train my dog to walk calmly on lead without her pulling so hard that she is choking herself and possible causing damage.08cactus
Purchased this for our rescue red heeler who had never been walked on a lead at 16 months old. He pulled constantly and walks were unbearable. The first few walks seemed to be improving and now (even with all straps tightened and adjusted to fit) the front point connection slips around to the side of his neck so it loses all benefits of being a front pull harness and he's pulling as bad as ever! Will be looking elsewhere for a harness that doesn't move around as much. Waste of money.Tarsh
