36 Inch Metal Dog Crate Tray For Sale (2024 Update)

I actually bought these as litter-catching trays to go under the cat boxes. I have an old cat who sometimes misses and even when he doesn't, he has a habit of tracking litter everywhere. I've been looking for a large, flat shallow tray to go under the box and these are perfect. I bought the medium-sized tray. I was expecting cheap-ish plastic but these are more rubberized and much better quality than I expected. Very happy with them. I'm sure they'd work great in crates as well.Elissa

I bought this as a replacement due to my original one cracking. It seems to be holding up really well. The only downside to this product is the fact that I bought the wrong size. I bought a bigger size than I needed. Luckily the whole crate fits in it, so it still works for me. This is my fault though, not the manufacturers. Will purchase product again, if I need to.Kristy06

I ordered the 30 inch pan. It came in a box that says 27 inch pan. The problem is that the width is only 18 1/2 inches leaving at least 2 inches where it is too short for the crate. I am not sure how to make sure I get one to fit. My Midwest Kennels are in great shape but older. I am trying to find the right size to order. Have to have one at least 20 inches wide. The 27 1/2 would work from back to front of crate.Christine3239

It is made better than the original crate pan, however, getting the proper width was a problem. I set the pan inside the old pan or else there would be too much of a gap that my dog could get hurt. I don't know why no one had the proper width. Length is fine.My crate is 24 inches wide. Maybe they don't make them like that one anymore, as it is over 10 years old.Gazer

First a foremost, I was really upset that I had to shell out over a hundred bucks for a dog cage. But since we have a brute escape artist that kept destroying her old kennel and hurting herself during the process. With this kennel, it has stopped all escapes, no signs of giving or stress. She's made it her home even when she doesn't need to be there.it comes with removable caster wheels for easy relocation, or take them off and leave it stationary while cutting a few inches off the overall height,The door is easily removable and attaches back on in a matter of a few seconds. We were worried about the meshed ground and her getting her toes caught in it, but I comes with a removable tray that's meant for the bottom, but we placed it over and that's her floor. We are thoroughly pleased and happy with this purchase.If you have a problem with escape artist using brute strength, then this is you best friend.DBotDan

The tree is just a tad under 5 foot. Not a problem for our little living room. The LED lights can be very bright–but you can unplug the LED lights! It still has 8 different light mod's even with the LED's unpluged. The longer branches on the bottom will not hold heavy ornaments. Light weight ornaments and garland is fine. It really is pretty even with out ornaments. The fiber optics make it a very colorful tree, even in the day time. The LED's are to brite for our liking. Not a problem for us we just unpluged them! Hey it's a 60 dollar tree. We are happy with it. You will have to fold down all of the branches they are not hinged like some of the higher dollar trees. It filled out nice! Poor Quality, for the price of this crate I expected it to be easily put together. I had to drill new holes because they didn’t line up. The latches interfered with the closing of the door. The door was not centered correctly and required lifting to shut properly. Arrived bend.Avgjoe

What a pleasant experience. This is such a sturdy crate. I have Serama Chickens that are indoor pets and this was just a great buy for a very reasonable price. Although I do not have a dog, there is no doubt in my mind that this cage would be perfect for a small dog.Lori

I purchased two of these "KennelMaster 24" Folding Black Wire 2 Door Dog Crate" and have had them for several months. What a great buy! Super easy to set up: they come preassembled and all folded up. They unfold and set up in a minute. I have one for each of my dogs: a Maltese/Bichon mix and a Chihuahua mix (who looks just like a small German Shepherd). We use their crates for the night time and when we leave the house. These crates are made of very nice thick metal. Incredibly sturdy. The latches are well made and smart-doggy proof. I like that the bottom is solid and can be easily removed and sanitized. My dogs have scratched and nibbled on the bars daily and the crates have held up like new. There are two doors on each crate: one door on a long side and one door on a short side. There's also a handle on top which makes it really easy to move around when I am relocating it, transporting the dogs, or just moving the crates to vacuum and clean underneath. My crates also came with some additional wire dividers that I don't use. I believe they are for making the crate smaller when you have a puppy and removing it as your dog grows. Crates can be really expensive so I was glad to find these at such a bargain price, especially because they are so well made. I know these crates will last many, many years. I have no negative things to say about these dog crates. I would highly recommend them! Please note: I do not put both dogs in the same crate, though they do both fit. I use them when I travel with my dogs too. My dogs only use their crates for sleeping in at night or napping in during the day. During the day, their crate doors are left open. I close the dogs in at night. I don't have an issue with my dogs trying to escape from their crates, so I can't speak to whether or not this would be sturdy enough for a dog that's determined to get out of their crate. These crates are more than sturdy enough for my miniature Schnauzer, Havanese, and Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. All three of my dogs love their MidWest iCrates, as did my previous dog! They go in them voluntarily and when told to "crate up". My only concern with the current crate I ordered is that that one of the latches isn't lined up quite right so it's a bit tight when closing the crate door. I bent it slightly and it works much better. I haven't had that issue with any of the previous MidWest crates I've used. I'm a MidWest crate fan.Eddie09

He was a Parvo pup and barely survived, so rest and his own quiet space was highly recommended for recovery. We first used the divider which was great. However, as he grew, so did his strength. It definitely is not strong enough for large dogs. Even for short amounts of time. At the moment he is 6 months and 60 pounds. Thankfully he did not get out nor hurt himself! I almost did not purchase this crate due to the multiple bad reviews. Glqd I purchased it qnyway. Other than the people who recieved damaged or warped crates, I'm not sure why there are so many reviews claiming it is difficult to assemble. I'm 4'11", 90 lbs, had 3 kids under 5 in the same room, and I assembled it alone without any real difficulties. The aforementioned children are in one of the review photos to show the enormity of the crate. The 9 month old Great Dane is in the other photo. Luckily for me, besides a slightly warped top piece, none of my pieces were bent, warped, or broken. Took about 30-40 minutes to assemble. Certainly would have been faster if I'd had someone helping, like the manual recommends.Brooke

The crate had obviously been used and returned. The metal was rusted in places and the plastic bottom tray was dirty. When I decided to return it, It was a challenge to get it back in the box. When I took it back to the store, I asked about a discount and received 15% off (the tax). I had previously bought one that was marked down by 50% because the box was damaged. I was quite disappointed in the whole experience. Apparently the merchandise was supposed to be checked if the box was damaged and that wasn’t done in this case.Janice

I use them when I travel with my dogs too. My dogs only use their crates for sleeping in at night or napping in during the day. During the day, their crate doors are left open. I close the dogs in at night. I don't have an issue with my dogs trying to escape from their crates, so I can't speak to whether or not this would be sturdy enough for a dog that's determined to get out of their crate. These crates are more than sturdy enough for my miniature Schnauzer, Havanese, and Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. All three of my dogs love their MidWest iCrates, as did my previous dog! They go in them voluntarily and when told to "crate up". My only concern with the current crate I ordered is that that one of the latches isn't lined up quite right so it's a bit tight when closing the crate door. I bent it slightly and it works much better. I haven't had that issue with any of the previous MidWest crates I've used. I'm a MidWest crate fan.Eddie09

Great heavy duty Gate!! Seamless , just pull out of box and set up to the shape you need. Definitely not for any dog bigger than a yorkie or chihuahua , but could be used for puppies. I am using it for my yorkie which had 5 puppies.Jules

I was excited to receive this product for my new puppy , its pretty tall and a good diameter. However the Gate latches were too hard to open and close. other reviewers also mentioned this fault.Since the gate is what we would use to let puppy in and out and that itself is faulty i'm giving it 3 starsStlmom

I love this. It was so easy to assemble and works great as a temporary chicken coop also. I am currently using it to introduce new chickens to the flock. I most definitely will buy a few more to use after my baby ducks hatch and for my puppies while they are outside.Fluffy Butt Mommy

I bought the medium size crate for my husky/pit bull mix. It got here super fast and was undamaged. All the parts fit and instructions were easy to follow. I was glad it came partially assembled. I put it together by myself and that is saying alot, because as a 60 year old woman it was pretty heavy! I did zip tie the top shut and also use a plastic coated tie out cable to reinforce the door. I was unsure the locks would remain shut if he wanted to get out. My dog seems to appreciate the space inside the crate. I was worried about the floor wiring, so I put a thick, flat quilt in there to cover it. I have been using it for 5 days and so far, it has been good. I am happy he has more space and the strength of the crate seems to be good. I suppose we shall see over the long haul, but at this point, it's working well. I would recommend this product to anyone and I'm saving up to buy 2 more for my other big dogs. It gives me peace of mind to know he is safe, comfortable and contained when I have to leave my home.Tina C.

I wish this was the first crate I bought for my dog. She wrecked 2 of the wire metal crates and even escaped from one. I have no idea how she damaged the other crates without hurting herself in the process. NOW! I do not worry about that. She tries to chew on the bars but only manages to peel some of the dark coating off. She is 60 lbs and she shuffles her bedding around a bit but she can not bend the bars or move the placement of the crate in any way. Two of the bars were bent during shipping so one of the screw placements does not align. But that has not decreased the integrity of the crate at all. This crate has made me a lot more relaxed to know that when I leave the dog is safe. It's also really easy to collapse and fold up and to add or remove the wheels. I purchased this kennel five years ago. When I rescued our Border Collie they told me she would escape every kind of kennel. And I thought, “She won’t break out of a metal kennel.” Well, she tore through two metal kennels, bent them beyond use, and hopped or walked them across rooms!! So, I began the search. I bought this steel kennel, with two action locking, and “Bailey” could not get out of it! She had a horrible first year of life and now we have been loving on her for five years. She is still afraid of men. And now Bailey uses her steel kennel as her “Safety Place”. If we have company over or a repair man come in, she “tells” them what she thinks, Ha, and then retreats to her kennel. We just returned from a 42 day vacation where we slept at different KOAs and hotels and the kennel came with us!! We simply loaded it in the back of the truck and she knew she was safe everywhere we went. It’s on rollers so no problem getting it in and out. I have the 36” size. I’m a lady, 5’3”, in my 60’s and I can handle moving the kennel. It’s a bit heavy I admit, but once it’s on the ground it rolls like a charm. Definitely worth every penny!Debi C.M.

My husband and I got a puppy from the pound. She was only 2 months old when we brought her home. Using this crate for the first year help us keep our home intact! she would only be put in the crate when we were gone, that way we knew she was safe and not getting into trouble chewing furniture or peeing in the house. those two door design is fantastic! I have two of this size (one door model). I have had these things for ohhh, 10 years…I raised three rotty's in them and kept various rescues of all animal kinds in them until I could get them off to rescue people over the years. They did duty in the barn area for poultry for most of the last 6 years and got messed on all over the place, were damp in the winter and were used like tables with a board on top. Ended up with another rescue that might stay…looked at em all poultry encrusted and dusty and cobwebby and shook my head thinking they're done. They have been through the wringer the last 6 years. I realized I really don't have the money to buy new so decided to try to clean them up as a futile attempt to not have to buy more. I had to at least try. 2 hours ,a bucket of warm soapy water, a scrubby , washcloth and a hose later…OMG. They cleaned up GREAT. The handles of the latches were slightly slightly rusty here or there where the black coating flaked off (about the only place it has flaked off and then only small spots), the metal tubes that connects the panels together a little dull, pitted and slightly rusty here or there and that is IT! They still work just fine and they look award winning good considering where they have been. If not for the latches and the connector pieces they could pass as gently used items despite what they have been through. So essentially, if you want a solid, quality crate that is priced reasonably and WORTH every darn penny….go with precision crates. One precision crate could very likely last you all of your adult life if you stayed with the same size dog. As it is now we have the two x lrgs, 1 mediumish, and 2 for 30 lbs or less dogs. And because I am so impressed with what I have,….I'm going to be buying this X-lrg 2 door version to fit in a spot where a single door crate won't work in my house. Remember- Don't throw away an extra crate that is in working order, donate it to someone who can't afford a crate or find a rescue group that needs it (crates are good for lots of different animals).Windchyme

Finally, after buying several different brands that boasted 5-stars ratings and returning each one because of its sharp, unfinished wire ends/edges, this one arrived! No sharp edges! More expensive than others, but if it saves me from a vet/pet hospital visit because a wire stabbed my pet, it is well worth the money! Feels heavy and sturdy; but still portable.Arno

I got this for a ~60lbs. labrador retriever and he seems to love it. Big enough on the inside for him to stand, turn around, and lay comfortably. It's sturdy, but not so heavy that it doesn't move around a little bit when he changes positions. It was easy enough to put together. A couple of the plastic screws didn't seem to have the ends filed off all the way (hard to describe but basically instead of a flat end, the plastic stuck out a little extra on one side instead of being flat across), which made them harder to fit straight through the holes in assembly. Fortunately, they send a few extra, so I had enough that were straight enough to put the crate together. Also, just be aware of the plastic bottom – I ran my hand across the bottom to clean it before putting it together and scraped my hand on a piece of plastic that stuck up a little (it was like a little ring manufacturing imprint). I filed it down before letting my dog in so he wouldn't get scraped on it, but just something to be on the look out for.Labbadabbadoo

The sizing recommendation by the manufacturer seems to be off. Dimensions are not the actual dimensions if you were to take a measuring tape and measure yourself. For my 55 lb border collie mix who sits at 27 inches tall and stands at 37 inches long from nose to base of tail a large would not fit. I ordered the XX Large and that is a way better fit where she can actually sit without being hunched over. This was purchased for air travel as well so I want her to be as comfortable as possible. The material seems relatively durable but it did arrive with a large crack so I will be exchanging. Compared to the Petmate Sky Kennel, this kennel seemed a little bit thinner in material and not as study. However, I order a Sky Kennel in a size Large so perhaps a sizing difference might have affected this. Also, currently, the Sky Kennel is available for a better price on Amazon but not in the size I am looking for.Zozobozo

Nicely built, easy to assemble (all holes line up for screws, about 10 with butterfly nuts).You get extra screws and rubber nuts. The cage design for opening and closing is nice and easy to use. Most of all, our dog took to it the first time. We had the S, same company. Uma is getting big now. Of course, we chose the same company and same product, just L in size. When a puppy, accidents do happen. It is easy to clean. Uma is about 20lbs now and can stand up in the kennel. Still plenty of height room. She may become 30-40lbs and this kennel will be all we need. Our use is for nighttime and when we go out. We have the gray which does not stand out. It is a neutral color and looks good in your kitchen, bedroom or where you keep your dog. The kennel also provides a rectangular cage on both sides on the top half so the dog can look out. I just received this cage and the pan is broken, the bottom of the cage is bent. Wrote to the company as i want to return it and not sure i want a replacement ,it is really poorly made. Wish i could return it to Walmart ( my mistake i shouldve read more carefully )Now it looks like i'll have to pay to return. Would never buy from them again. The box that the cage came in wasn't damaged – so they packed already damaged cage ! Really upset about it as the price was ok.Galina

I have bought several crates, several different brands. I prefer the single latch, this crate is very well made. However the I crate is heavier. I have french bulldogs and like both brands. The tray is very good quality and the door opening is a little undersized but not bad. Overall I would buy this crate again. It is lighter weight and very portable. Happy with this crate.573ranch

I returned this because I didn't realize it had a metal tray and I thought it would rust and be chilly for a puppy we have coming. (It's winter time as I write this review.) Also I didn't find the handle that's mentioned. I would say the quality is medium by today's standards which let's face it are crappy. The gauge on this would be fine for a smaller dogs like Westies, Mini Schnauzers, Mini Poodles. The door hooks have a curve at the end which would make them secure. If you don't mind the metal tray you would probably find this satisfactory.UrbanHerbivore

Crate is great. I purchased the XL but I have an Italian greyhound. I like for him to have a large space when he is in the crate while I’m not home. I don’t use the crate for potty training since my dog is already potty trained. Overall I have not had any issues with the crate. The only thing I would change if I could is the way the crate closes. You have to turn the latch all the way around to push it into the loop then turn it all the way back towards you to lock. I’ve seen better ways of locking the crate on other crates I have previously had. Other then that, the crate is good.Dani Kouyou

Crate is a good size. It fits well into our living rooms in the corner between furniture and is low enough profile to blend in. Within the first couple of uses, our dog managed to bend some of the wires in the door. We totally need to work on crate training, but I was surprised at how quickly it was damaged. He can't get out, and it's not too noticable, but still. Overall, a fine crate. Not sure why the dimensions aren't standard to match other crates of this size or beds of this size–even Animaze doesn't make a bed for these exact dimensions!A house

I bought this because I’m staying with my sister temporarily and have 2 dogs. I used to live in an apartment with wood floors and apparently, my dogs don’t like carpet. I work from home so I rarely leave the house but the dogs (both under 12lbs) started ripping at the carpet. I bought this for them to chill in when I leave to get groceries/gas etc. It is a really large size which I love. I would say it seems a bit flimsy but again, my dogs are small. This kennel is extra large and wonderful to hold their bed and then room for training pads. The tray on the bottom is metal and very sturdy. We are loving this as an option. The Cons….Metal tray is not as large as the crate—so we have some wetting outside the tray. ( boy dog) The handles —-one was broken off when arrived. It is not welded very well. We just put duck tape as a handle and use it that way. Overall this is a great crate. Just have to make a few minor adjustments. The biggest being the tray is not as large as the crate.Sand

The lifting of the cage walls( they are not secured to the bottom in any way at all and sit around the cage bottom that is about an inch in space on all sides from the cage bars). A stand up, and a simple push was all it too for her to get free the 1st time. 2nd attempt, I secured here cage in the corner of a room with my stationary exercise bike pinning it in a corner. Bloody mouth, paws and less than 10 minutes later 8 had to let her out. She bent the bars inward as they aren’t as strong as they look. Heavy duty is an understatement. Could not return it since it’s technically used, but this was the 1st day I used it. Total waste of my money. My dog is NOT a wild puppy either, as she is 12 yrs old, only 65lbs and not aggressive at all.Nikki

This is a nice looking crate and it is substantial. It is also easy to move around. The main problem with it is that the clips to open and close the doors are annoyingly difficult. Also the side garage style door is difficult to operate as well. Sometimes I just leave the top open and take my little schnauzer out the top – it's easier.Joyce

Very hard to use. Clips and clamps are very poorly made. Aside from the fact that I've asked for refund and donated them, I did try to utilize them to no avial. I purchsed the large one and a small one. The garage door + top door feature is cool, but the locking mechanisms are very difficult to use. Terrible choice if you have arthritis! Its impossible to open the clips while holding the puppy in your other hand. 🙁 The cozy bed is the nicest part of this setup.Hard2Open

About six months after giving away our lrg pet taxi, stored for years, our beloved dog had two disks rupture immediately paralyzing him. Putting him down wasn't an option(!) so we took him to Manhattan for emergency surgery. After a week at the hospital we were allowed to bring him home with strict instructions that he MUST be crated for 6 weeks to recover and let the spineal injury heal. I began looking for a replacement crate and cost was certainly a factor after the almost prohibitive cost of the surgery. The Pet Gear Crate became the one and only choice upon seeing the 'other door'. Given our dogs inability to walk or step in or out of the cage for the first week, the 'garage door' was absolutely awesome. Because he cried constantly if we left the room, we rolled it into the bedroom each night to sleep with us. The standard side door still allowed me to let him out for bathrrom breaks quickly and easily. He still has three weeks of crate time at this point, but the garage door is the most awesome invention ever! After a full recovery I plan to leave it open all the time and hope to encourage him to continue to use the crate as his bed. We bought two Petmate Silky Plush Dog Beds to put in the bottom that fit EXACTLY that give him plenty of comfort and since he is confined for 24/7, to keep him from getting bed sores or hot spots. The mat that comes with the crate is only two material pieces thick. For us and our pupose this crate is a great product/purchase. (Unfortunatley,for me) they lowered the price only two weeks after buying it, so it is more inline with where it should be priced given the overall quality and materials made with. I would not recommend this product if your dog is not crate trained or an escape artist. It is not a super sturdy crate and definatley not intended for traveling, but strictly home use. However, the second reason we purchased this crate is because it folds up so-to-speak and will store much more easily and in less space than a traditional crate. Third reason, it has wheels. When empty it helps moving it from room to room if necessary.HersheyDog

Well this item is not easy to assemble, I hope that once I get it together it feels stronger than it looks. I purchased this for two small chihuahuas when going to the vet or the groomer. This item do not come with good instructions, if I can not get it together in the next day or so I will return it.field mouse
