I do not think the packaging is the greatest it does not say what it is made of and after some googling I am not sure how safe the ingredients are for dogs but its made in USA and my dog has had no issues from it. I think these are better for dogs compared to Nylabone. My dog a cocker spaniel has bad anxiety and is a constant chewer only 2 years old. The size small is pretty decently sized. An they past pretty long too. I always buy about 4 that way they arent chewing on the same one and no matter the room shes in theres always a bone close to be found instead of something shes not suppose to have.Kris

She can take a rawhide apart in a few minutes, but these wood bones last a long time since she only gnaws on them. I like that they come in several sizes. The XS or S may be too small for small breeds, but my 9-lb. minpin chews the S or M size ones on her own. This is a very good toy the dogs like to chew on it. It is made in the USA. It does NOT have any scent. It does NOT have any added flavor(in case you were wondering). It's strong enough for big dog, and gentle enough for small dog. BACKGROUND (if you care to read more) I didn't think much of it when I ordered it. For $5 and change, I'll pretty much try any toy. My dogs are huge and strong, and small and cute. They are rough on EVERY TOY. By comparison the only balls they have not destroyed are Chuck-its Everything else, ripped apart eventually (Kong bears are EXCELLENT, as are the Squirrel pup Tree house here on Walmart). Real bones have been issues, because they have gotten caught on teeth, sometimes splinter, are heavy (so when big dog drops them they can possibly harm small dog. Don't worry. We watch them carefully). So we started buying Bam-bones, and other fake bones instead. Note, we CANNOT use the Nylabone edibles. I have three dogs who all love these Benebones (Lab, Golden Retriever, and Amstaf). They have Different flavors of these bones and my dogs love all of the flavors. The dentist has remarked about how clean their teeth are, which I think is in great part due to these Benebones. They have laundry basket full of toys and since these Benebones are heavier than most of their other toys, they usually settle toward the bottom of the basket. It is so funny to watch them digging through the other toys to get to their Benebones. Over several months, one knob on one of the Benebones was chewed down (little shreads at the time, not a harmful chunk), which meant I bought another round of Benebones for all of them. One of my dogs had to have surgery because she swallowed a chunk of a Kong toy, but even though she is a strong chewer (Bully breed) and can demolish most toys in 15 minutes or less, these Benebones last months before they need to be replaced. I watch their toys to make sure nothing starts coming apart that could necessitate another trip to doggie ER ($6,000 bill and 5 days in hospital). The price of the Benebones may seem a little high, but if you can avoid trip to doggie hospital for intestinal blockage and all the pain your dog would suffer, they are a good investment. It is cute to see each of three dogs grab one knob on a Benebone and pull in three different directions. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Great design and material for all dogs, but especially for Bully types.Bootsie
I gave our sweet pup the Benebone bone as soon as it arrived. It was the perfect size for her, she could carry it easily, and manipulate it as she chewed. I was very happy thinking I had found a great replacement for the deer antlers she loved to chew, but are very expensive to replace. It wasnt long, however, before her strong chewing had created hundreds of very sharp indentations all along the bone. She often will bring her chew toy to ya to help hold while she chews, but its impossible to hold it with all the sharp edges. She doesnt like it very much now, because Im sure it causes pain to her lips and tongue. Unfortunately, It will have to be discarded . Plastic just isnt right for our dog.gymmom56
Just arrived today and my 1 yr old lab/pitt mix showed immediate interest. I bought this so he could have an "indoor stick" because he keeps bringing in lots of sticks and leaving wood chips everywhere. My dog's more of a gnawer than a heavy chewer (except with wood. He chews wood like a professional wood chipping machine), but after less than 30 minutes he'd already worn down one end slightly (see picture). I think it's the material – it's really really hard and has no give, so it kinda just shaves pieces off instead. I was expecting more of a stretchy nylabone toy. I'm definitely going to have to keep an eye on him with this, but he definitely likes it!lprongs

We have two English Bulldogs and a Heeler puppy (think Velociraptor) that love to chew. This small 'piece of wood' is really lasting!!! Might seem pricey up front, but if it keeps your furry monsters occupied and happy, WORTH IT! (Think: they are busy = you have free time to play on your phone!) It doesn't splinter or anything, which I was initially worried about. They just kind of gnaw on it. We usually give them deer or moose shed pieces, because they can be a bit rough on regular toys. I have 2 pit bulls and both are big chewers (one likes real bones and the other likes rubber). I got one of these wood chews just to see if my big guy (90lbs) would like it. He immediately loved it and tried to hide in the house to keep it from his sister. She's 40 lbs and didn't show interest the first few hrs, but she finally gave it a try and loved it too! My boy has a genetic gum disease that causes his gums to overgrow around his teeth, so they can be sensitive. I bought this because my daughter said it was the only chew toy that her husky didn’t destroy. It was his favorite and he was still chewing for nearly a year. I was hesitant to spend $17 for what look to me as a regular old log, however, it was definitely worth every penny! My dog destroyed everything in a matter of seconds. This has lasted him for months. My dog, a 7lb cavapoo named Luna, and I were at my sisters when she found this toy at her house. Luna instantly loved it. Mom got her one for Luna to have at home and she just loves it. She knows her “stick bone” by name and uses it daily and usually for a good amount of time. Plus, the vet says Luna has amazing teeth especially for a small dog bc he said smaller dogs are prone to bad teeth. (And she hasn’t even had them cleaned) I totally recommend this bone!!

I got this for my dog a few months ago because he is going blind. I wanted a toy that he could smell. He loves playing fetch with the ball, and chewing on it! I have four golden retriever puppies ranging in age 4 months to eight months, so I bought four of these. The first day my oldest golden retriever was able to chew off several splinters, one almost as long as a toothpick and over double the circumference. My rescue, Sophie, came with a chew from that other well know brand of nylon chew toy. On a whim, I bought her this Pet Qwerks brand, and oh my! She LOVED it! Never touched the other toy again. But…the other brand was on sale so I got her a couple different shapes. NOPE. Did not chew any of them. At all. Not even a little. Got her a couple more Pet Qwerks brand and she loved them just as much as the first! I don't know what there is about this brand, but I'm staying with it, except for the wood infused version. As it turns out, my dogs are enjoying it. Only down side, the chewed up plastic (or whatever it is) gets pretty sharp and will catch on blankets and doesn't feel so good on the skin. Not sure about the health effects of swelling small bits of plastic, but it hasn't seemed to effect bowel movements. I bought this bone for my thirty pound mutt when she was about 9 months old. She absolutely loves it and it it's her most preferred toy/bone that she has had. She has chewed it down considerably after about two years and I finally bought her another one in chicken flavor. I left it on the window sill because I didn't want to give it to her yet but she keeps getting it down and putting it on her bed. I have never found little pieces of this bone laying around the house so I guess she must be swallowing them. I'm not sure if I should be concerned about this since the product says it's not for consumption. I would feel much better knowing that it is made of materials that are healthy for her but it will do for now. Some people are concerned about how jagged this bone becomes, this has never been an issue in my mind. We have a 1 year old English Bulldog and he chews on everything ! I tried the bully sticks and he ate right through them like they were potato chips. I also gave him Yak chews, which are also pretty good but these Wishbone's not only last for months and months but the fact that we bought him the bacon and chicken flavors give him something to choose between when he is bored with the first one. He will knaw/chew on these bones for hours and hours at a time and it keeps him occupied.
