This is our second purchase of My Pet Companion portable kennel. It is sturdy, easy to set up, attractive and has a cover to help keep the sun off the dogs. The steel frame has a powder coat finish that is very durable. We take this kennel camping for our dogs, a Rottweiler and Aussie Shepard. We do not keep the dogs in it for long periods since it is too small for that. The kennels worked great; they are airy and comfortable, and big enough to fit a small litterbox, which I could not fit in regular cat carriers. Plus they come with come with mats that have washable covers, which is handy. As another reviewer mentioned, this is not for carrying cats around. I carried them to the car in sturdier small carriers, then transferred them to these kennels. The product is good quality and it met my expectations. So even though I had the dimensions it was still WAY smaller than I thought it would be. I'm not sure what I expected. The actual dog house is a very good size for my 14 (a little overweight) Dachshund. It was hard for him to get up the stairs, I don't know if that's his weird body, short legs and long torso or it's just oddly small. I also changed the stairs from the direction its in to the a straight direction off the top. there was no way he was getting down the way they have it set up, makes no sense! it is beautifully made and I think It's a great house. This was super easy to put together and follow the directions; although I am a very handy person. I love it, it looks great on my patio for my little puppy and gives him a nice spot to rest and hide out in the shade. On warmer days, it did not feel hot inside, HOWEVER, I live in a place with very moderate temperatures (72 with a breeze most days). So in a warner climate you may want to purchase one of their dog house fans available on this site!!! As I hope you can see in the photo, my little guy enjoys his space! Side note: as far as the other reviews about the stairs being flimsy… I disagree. As long as you screw in all three screws for the stairs and don't attempt to drag this across and yard or surface, the stairs are very sturdy. I have a 16 year old cat that decided to live outside on our patio earlier this year. I have no idea why. She refuses to come in and when I force her to come in she poops on my shoes (ugh). I live in Southern California so it's not real cold but nights in orange county can get pretty chilly. I have bought her 3 little houses/beds and she refuses to go inside them. This was my last attempt/purchase. It was easy to put together by myself. I did not assemble the "upper deck portion or stairs". I did not screw in the roof either, this works perfectly for me. I can lift the roof off & on for easy access. It's quite snug and fitted when in place but easily lifts off. She's too old to use the stairs and would never use the deck portion. I have it on my patio in a corner under the overhang. She LOVES it!! I put her blanket inside with her pet heating pad (Amazon 19.99) under her blanket and she is in heaven. I lift off the roof every couple days to shake out her blanket and check her heating pad and she's always curled up napping. I am thrilled and now sleep knowing she's warm, comfortable and dry. I got this recently on a great sale price… it was half the cost of another dog house that I bought (and returned). The one I ended up returning was designed as an actual house, but cost $100 and the plastic was very flimsy… I felt it wasn't worth the price, and my dog never liked it. I looked online and saw this "dog house" (it's really a crate, IMO); and Petco had the least expensive price, at half the retail cost. I was also able to pick it up the same day at a local store, and received a further discount for picking it up at the store. There's only 2 pieces (a top and a bottom), and the top basically just sits on the bottom, with tabs that are supposed to hold it in place. It's not the most secure, but I don't see this being blown across the yard or anything. The plastic is heavy duty and sturdy… I mean sure, if you live in a tornado or hurricane area, then of course, yes, it'll get toss across the neighborhood; but otherwise, it should stay in place. Great for when you need to leave your pet outside for a while. It's very wide, but not very long though. My dog can curl up in here and he can fit, but he can not stretch out or lay out in this… which is fine, because dogs usually like sleeping curled up and they like snug fitting enclosures to sleep in. My standard size labradoodle fits into it. He uses it to sleep in. This is not something he can stand straight up in or something he can stretch out in… but for sleeping, he loves to curl up in it. We put it inside the house first so that he would get use to it. The one I got said it was for dogs 50-90 lbs., which is the large size. Got these doghouses as an outdoor reprieve from the elements for our 2 Huskies. They are very sturdy and made of solid hard plastic. They've managed to remain dry inside even in a couple of downpours and driving rain. The only time that wasn't the case is when I had one on an uneven patch of grass. This is one of the best investments I have ever made. My dog took to her potty patch by the end of the day. She is now 12 years old and still uses it. Beautiful dog houses, but…. thin walled and are not insulated or double walled as noted in advertisement. I bought 3 ex large and one is already tore to pieces. Of note, the dog who's doghouse had a previous older wood doghouse and has lasted for 2 years, just to demonstrate that it is not solely due to dog. Very disappointed.cena222
The dog house (which is being used for a feral cat), arrived quickly and was pretty easy to assemble. It is sturdy enough for our uses, which included putting a smaller insulated cat container in one side of the house and food/water dishes near the entrance. Having the roof lift makes adjustments and cleaning easy. I'm not sure how well this would work for a larger, energetic dog, but it does for us.NDCat

So thankful for this crate set. It came just in time for us to take a last minute 8-10 hour round trip. I was glad to be able to leave our pup at home with food and water! Purchased the 48” and the bowls are giant! Great for lots of water but silly looking for only 1-1.5 cups of dry food. The cover is nicer in person, I was afraid it was going to look like a tarp or plastic garbage bag but it’s good quality. Super easy setup, this is folding even though it’s not in the title. My pup does try to chew it a bit but so far no damage. I did have to remove the bed because he was clawing it and eating the fibers that he pulled off. I did wash the bed and lay in sun to dry. Washed well. Divider easy to use. This is my first ever wire crate. The least likeable part is how easy it is for my kids to open anytime they want. Wish there was a child lock! Haha. My pup is a Lab/Border Collie/hound mix. Went with 48” because I have no idea how big he will get. The height is perfect because he is super tall. Bought this crate for my severely anxious beagle. We were at our wits end with the messes in the house and broken crates. I know Petco has no control over my boy's anxiety, but they made a crate kit that is affordable, arrived quickly, and is the perfect size for him. We have a Catahoula pup and ordered the 36” soft camo crate. It fits perfectly in our Jeep and is great for travel purposes. I have read reviews on rips and tears but this crate is made very well! Only reason there would be an issue is if the dog is not crate trained/loves to chew and scratch. It did take a bit for our pup to get use to it in the car but once he did it has been the best! Super easy to store away as well.

It's a nice big crate and just what I was looking for to put into my SUV. The only thing I didn't like are the zippers. They seem to be lower quality and makes closing and opening a a bit of a pain, so one star off for that. Not a con, but I wish the crate had anchors on each corner so that I can fasten it more easily in my car.

This "medium" doghouse was smaller than described in the online details. The length was 2 inches shorter. The width and depth were each 1 inch shorter. I had most of the doghouse assembled before I decided to measure it. I had to take it apart, package it up and return it to my local store. Fortunately, the return process was easy.
