This is such a great product – I'm extremely happy we purchased this. We got it for an upcoming tent camping trip. Our dog typically sleeps in her crate at night but its too large and being metal we were afraid it would rip the tent. I found this item and couldn't be more pleased! Super convenient in its carrying case, very easy to put together, and even comes with stakes in case you do want to use it outside and make sure it doesn't blow away. For the cost too – this is such a great purchase! Notes: the color is more of a burnt orange color. The front/back zipper onto the middle section. We did opt to add another layer of cushion because the one provided is quite thin. We have a 50lb small-ish pit who likes to be super comfy all the time.
I purchased one of these right after I moved into our current home, which was over five years ago. It held up beautifully. I would take it out and hose it down now and again to keep it clean and dustless. I decided to replace it only because the dog loves it so much and it was starting to look a little shabby. He had chewed on the mesh door when he was younger and made a hole, and I was no longer able to zip him into it for the night because he would just force himself through that hole. I was very happy to see that they still make pretty much exactly the same product, although I probably shouldn't have been because it's such a good-quality item other people would surely re-buy it too. I can't praise it highly enough. I wanted a soft crate with a top opening for my puppy that will be arriving in mid July. As a pet sitter, I've seen my clients crates and as good as they were, this one is that much better. It's good looking, has openings on three sides and the top plus has foldable shades on all openings. It comes with a sherpa inside mat that's not plush by any means but does the job. I called customer service when I ordered and they helped me pick the right size and told me that if I wasn't happy when I received it to let them know and they'd pick up the original and ship me the new size. Well, it arrived quickly and and i was informed every step of the way. I think the size will be perfect but I'm confident that when my girl arrives, if needed, this company will honor their commitment and switch sizes. I'm really happy with my purchase. Fabulous overall experience. Product was received in a timely manner, well packed, and the product itself is the best! There are too many junky soft-sided crates on the market. This one is sturdy, putting it together is a snap, and the pad inside can be replaced with all kinds of options when needed. We generally replace a pad on the inside about once a year just to keep them fresh. Our dogs actually like the blue ‘cooling’pads more than big fluffy pads anyway, but they are Shelties with a lot of hair. The crate itself is just superior and I have just ordered a second one for another pup arriving soon. Really, I can’t say enough good things about this crate. If your pup is a chewer you might consider a hard crate temporarily till they move out of the chewing phase but there isn’t much to chew on in these crates anyway as the canvas outer shell is very tight doesn’t give much leeway to chew. And our current 6 month old Sheltie goes in to the crate to lay down completely on his own – it’s his own little abode and he is content.Joy F.
Fell apart roughly a year after purchase. The plastic pieces / connectors for the frame literally hardened and crumbled. The crate was never used to travel anywhere either. It simply sat in a carpeted bedroom. I was fortunate my dog was not in the crate at the time so that he wasn't injured. I reached out to support and sat here since April. Yes since APRIL (so 6 months), trying to get 2 replacement pieces of plastic, which I have been told are backordered and that I'll hear when they arrive. Today they reached out to me and are telling me I need to pay nearly $100 for the s2 piece of plastic, so half the cost of the entire crate. If I had known that I would have simply contested the charges for this piece of junk and bought another crate from somebody else who won't keep me sitting here. This is a very lightweight product with plenty of room for my 7 month old pup. She loves it. Easy to keep by the bedside, take to the car, travel with cozy den. I have not left her alone in this for long periods of time as a crate when I go out (still use a metal crate for that) as I don't know if she would try to chew on it being a soft crate and she's a puppy. This is exactly the size I needed for small dog for transporting in car on long trips. Plenty roomy and lots of side “ windows” for looking out. Fits perfectly in the car seat and and put the seat belt on to hold it. The mesh opening makes it easy in and out. Fairly sturdy zipper closure. It folds flat and comes with a carry/ storage bag. The bottom is not super sturdy even with the included pad, but am able to carry our dog in it in and out of a hotel as she is a lightweight . Prices are so much better at TSC than specialty pet stores!New puppy parent
A red folding carrier was available on this site for only 9.99. I paid much more for this carrier because every photo conveyed it as a soft, grayish green and white that perfectly matched my decor. We received a saturated, dark green carrier with cream accents. We're using it to conceal our cat's litter box, so the color matters. Love the convenience of this kennel – zips apart into three pieces and folds down completely flat into a carrying case that's included. Can be used indoor/outdoor. Zippers work well, and minimal mesh is nice. Still very breathable. This one came with a mat unlike many others available. It is a pretty thin mat but that's okay, my puppy prefers it. Now, she is a 4-month old puppy and I never would have used this to crate train her. She would have shredded it to bits trying to get out. This should only be used for crate-trained dogs, and not doing so is where all of the bad reviews for this type of crate come from, I think. The first night we had this, we opened the door to let her out and she refused to come out! Just rolled over and went back to sleep. Our 80# lab loves this travel crate. We have traveled with it 4-5 times now and it is great for the purpose. We bought the largest one (48") and because of the size it does not fit easily into a sedan even when folded, but it does fold up pretty well. It is not as "neat" on the folds as when you first open the box, but it works. We bring his Impact K9 orthopedic mattress from his home crate and it fits exactly, as it should. The little fluff "bed" that comes with it really isn't sufficient for a crate this size (and the corresponding dog inside!) but otherwise we really have nothing negative to say about it. I wish it had come in a dark color and that the zipper would slide a bit more smoothly, but we would recommend this item without reservation.Dr. CA

Exactly what I needed. My 5 month puppy had outgrown the first carrier and I needed something to use in the car and it fits perfectly. I put it in the backseat and the seatbelt fits and keeps it in place. I put it in the rear passenger side and I can see him and he can see me. Note of caution: there is a strap with a hook inside the crate. I found that it was too short to allow him to move around so hooking your dog up to strap may not be a good idea.Reid1

I was excited to get this carrier for my cat Tinky for her trip to the vet. The last trip we used a regular carrier and when she got home she yelled at that carrier every hour for two days do I figured I would get something she would like better to make the trip a bit more enjoyable, yeah right… After wrestling with her to get her into the soft carrier I realized my 16lb cat was way too big for that carrier and even if she were smaller she could test it apart. I was sold this bag at the airport for flying with my miniature schnauzer, the bag is super-light and the size is perfect as she can lie down in the bag. The bag is see-through from 3 sides so the dog remains cool even in the summer and can see what's going on. The bag folds perfectly flat when not used. However the quality of the bag is questionable, it survived two shorthaul flights and few train journeys but I don't think it will last more than a year of regular use. This is a really nice pet carrier and the price is awesome as well. I gave it four stars instead of five because I have a kitten who’s an escape artist. She pushes her head up where it zippers and gets out no problem. Even with the flap closed and locked. I ended up sewing it shut and works really well now. This is such a wonderful product, that really makes our travel so much easier. It is made extremely well; sturdy but still light enough to carry anywhere. It assembles easily and quickly. It, thoughtfully, has areas that our dogs can see us at all times, and we can see our dogs, too. Ventilation is excellent; it allows for enjoying the outdoors, while still being safely contained and protected. The mat adds softness and support. We use this when we visit family and friends too. Our dogs are very good, and do not need to be crated. However, they like a place of their own to feel safe, especially when we travel. We bring this along, keep the door open, and they have a special spot to go retreat to and sleep in, when staying with friends and family. It is perfect for our hikes and for camping, as well. I got this more to take our cats back and forth to the vet that dogs. It is larger than I expected, with plenty of room for them to move around. I love that is folds down for easy storage. I also like the zippered openings at the top and the side. It is easier to get the cat in from the top. The crate is very sturdy and I like the larger handles. I also like the pocket on the side, with plenty of space for a leash or treats. The bottom of the crate has feet, so it reduces wear on the fabric. The mat is easy to remove for cleaning.kschapman
I got this product for a cat carrier to go to vet appointments. First impression, definitely worth the price tag and super sturdy! We opened it and let both our cats explore and get comfortable in it. They fell in love and currently it’s still in my living room with two flaps up secured with the velcro. They have been fighting over whose “house” it is so I didn’t have the heart it to take it down since one compromised using the top net opening as a hammock! The colors are nice and so far it’s held up great! For size reference my cats are 11 and 16 lbs and both fit comfortably in it for a car ride to their appts or traveling. There doesn't seem to be any "handles" for lifting for transport & I wouldn't recommend lifting the kennel w/the dog inside, but you could certainly put it in the car first & then pop your pup inside. Ive had this crate for my dog for over a year. Its easy to set up and tear down and light enough for a woman to carry. These soft crates are for crate trained dogs. If you didnt use a crate when training your puppy it will not work for your dog. I have a 56 lb. Goldendoodle. She has plenty of room in the 42 crate and is very comfortable in it. Ive used it at dog classes and other dog activities. It is the number one soft crate used by members of our dog training club.matlyn333
