You can wash the outside of the bed fan but the inside is a paper bag filled with chopped up foam that can't be washed. i dont about everyione but I'll bet there goes outside and gets stinky. why would you sell a bed without a serviceable liner in it. I am thinking about throwing the inside bag away and buying another bed from a dufferent company that i can put inside that can be washed. The problem is that dog loves it ir i would throw it away. i have resirted to putting a large garbage bag over the stinky part so she can still use it until I can do better. To much work. When she was a few months old, we went on a family vacation and in lieu of spending $180 for a DockATot, we purchased this instead. This bed has literally been her obsession since that trip. Any time she sees it (even when I bring it downstairs to wash), she starts panting like a dog and rushes over to try and lay on it. We used it past the vacation and put it into her crib at home. She’s 20 months old now, and we’re trying to transition her to a toddler bed, but she keeps tossing and turning all night because she loves this dang dog bed so much and her regular toddler mattress just isn’t good enough for her. I came here to figure out what the minky fabric is that covers this darn bed so I can buy a fitted sheet of the same/similar texture to try and appease her and figured I would leave a review while I was here. We bought an extra when she was in daycare because she was having a rough time during nap time. Ohhh the laughs we got when I brought the dog bed in.. but it worked and she went right to sleep!Heather

Great mat but it showed and I had to open it and fully allow it to rise before we noticed it was not the correct size. I had measured and it seems this one is not the correct size. Weird as I order all the time. The box did not have the size or identification on it for me to confirm prior to opening. We kept it as it is a lovely mat but it is one size too small for our pup's crate.
This seems to be a good dog bed. Be prepared…. it takes 3 to 4 days for it to “fluff up”. It comes rolled up and it was really flat considering the specifications said it was 4” high! Letting it set to fluff it took about 3 days for it to become 4” high. The cover is a bit loose but does not bother my girl, she really likes her new bed. We purchased 2 xl beds. They came wrapped in plastic and vacuum sealed. The directions said they should fully expand in 24 to 72 hours. We are on day 5, and one of the beds is almost fully expanded, but the 2nd bed is still very squished in the center and corners. We are following the directions and shaking them several times a day. Im beginning to think the 2nd bed may have to be returned/replaced. I will give it a couple more days, but it dosent look like it has made any progress in the last couple days.Brenda101

I was hesitant to order a bed online because you can't really tell the quality of it and I didn't want to pay a fortune for junk. Then a sale came along as well as an additional coupon and it was a deal that I couldn't really pass up. Fortunately, the risk paid off. This bed is fantastic. It really is as described. I could sleep on it, and it's huge. I noticed some people complaining about the noise when your dog moves, but honestly, I don't even notice it most of the time. I got the XLarge 54" x 36" for my Great Pyrenees and she loves it. I was worried it wouldn't be big enough for her, but it seems to work out just fine – even if she stretches out. She's 13, so she's a old girl with arthritis.Her old bed did not survive our move, so we got this one (which frankly, did not even come close to the quality of this one). We've had it a week and already she seems to be getting around better. She really hasn't left it since. She's on the lighter side for a pyr at only 80 lbs, but the bed does not collapse with her weight. I weigh twice that and it supports me if I lie on it as well. 🙂 If I had anything to complain about, it would be the shipping/packing. This bed is very well made and my dog loves it! I have a 80lb lab mix who is starting to have hip issues. He likes to stretch out. The reviews/size guide indicated he would fit the large. I got the XL because he is pretty sprawly in our bed (we have a king). It is perfect for him. If your dog sleeps curled up, you can go with the large but for someone who stretches out this was perfect and the bed itself is not ridiculously oversized.AJPP
I had purchased the older version of this bed a few years ago (not from here thank gawd) it was amazing went to find another and found this which seems to be updated version. Well FINALLY got it (tractor supply cheap and doesnt pay for wknd delivery) the cover is so rough and not soft at all and what its sad is the arms are not attached.(so i could have planned for the extra space would have been nice to know. as much money as this costs as i first time customer i will be a last time customer.TC95

I was also looking for a waterproof liner as our Dane sometimes has accidents at night. This bed is just like a human mattress and the foam is lined to keep accidents out. Many beds have uncomfortable material that is used for the waterproofing, this bed has regular material for comfort where the dog lays and has a separate soft layer of waterproofed material around the foam mattress. Both can be taken off easily and washed. I absolutely LOVE how this bed looks! The sizing chart was pretty spot-on (I know it's hard to offer dimensions on something that's not perfectly rectangular). My dog loves it and uses it all the time, but I wonder how many dogs would be wary of it since it makes "crackly" noises when they walk on it. It's easy to vacuum, too, which is huge in my book. It's very lightweight, which is fine, except if I didn't have it wedged up against a chair (on a rug) it would slide all over. My old girl is 13, and drags her feet, so when she'd try to get on it, it'd move and shift, so I moved it to a place where it will stay put for her. In some of the images online it shows the bed on hard floors; that bed wouldn't stay put for 2 seconds! Also, and this isn't the bed's fault: since I got the cowhide version, that means my oily German shepherd leaves oil marks on the white parts, so of course it needs to be washed far more often than someone without an oily-furred dog (e.g., my parents' golden). That said…it's starting to look more worn and "real" because of the change in color 🙂Sarah d.
We have 3 dogs 69-75 pounds and they all love it. I got the original size which is huge, but they all want to lay on it to chew their bones…and they can! I just washed it for the first time. It washed beautifully. At first I thought it looked thin, but even when I sit on it I don't feel the floor. I wish the faux cowhide was a bit softer to the touch but the dogs love it as it. Fantastic dog bed. Could not be happier with the quality and look of this bed. We ordered two, the cowhide and the fluffy white one, and they both are so well made. Every time my 4 year old Bullmastiff started feeling warm and fuzzy would start chewing on the corner of his bed. I tried several beds, from which pieces of stuffing still remain forever floating around the living room. I scoured the internet for his "Very Last Last Chance Bed". His derriere was going to be sleeping on the floor for all of eternity if he chewed this one up. It's been several days now since I received his new bed……..several days longer than any other bed has ever survived. Here I am in 2020 reviewing somethinv I bought in 2018. Why? Well because my dog literally still sleeps on this every day. He's about an 80 black mouth cur and he hasn't trained it yet. The only thing is that I washed the cover a lot and it's finally wearing a bit thin. It's held up exceptionally well though and I can't say how impressed I am. The memory foam is still holding up. It's not permanently indented which is q major shock with such a big dog. So, yeah buy it!!

This time I tried buying online and I'm SO GLAD I did! The bed came quickly and was vacuum sealed. Sometimes items that are sealed like this smell of plastic or cleaning solutions, not this bed! It smelled great, fresh and clean. I followed the instructions for fluffing the fibers and tossing it in the dryer for a short tumble. It puffed up just perfectly. I placed the bed on my cat's favorite ottoman and in 2 minutes she was huddled down and sleeping. Best bed ever!!Melissa

I was thrilled to receive this dog bed in late October after waiting several weeks for shipment, as I am a fan of the crib mattress from Newton. My dog has now been sleeping on the bed for a little over a month. Today I went to mop underneath of the dog bed and to my horror it has STAINED our hardwood floor. The bottom of the dog bed is made of black, perforated fabric, and there are tiny black dots on the floor beneath where the bed laid. I’ve scrubbed and nothing is coming up. Zia is a 1 year old blue heeler and we've been searching for a bed that she wouldn't be able to tear through. At the price of these Casper beds, we figured this would be rugged and made well enough to stand against the teeth of a puppy. At first she loved the bed, and we trained her to go to her "spot" on the bed within a couple of days. Then one day I turned my back on her for 10 minutes and she had chewed a hole through the corner of the cover. The cushion was showing underneath, and I noticed this before she could eat the stuffing. With Casper's customer service being of such a high standard, I figured they would at least send us a replacement cover, but no such luck as this was a wedding gift to us (and they wouldn't make an exception in any case). Unfortunately if you have a pup that is teething, you'll have to hold off on a bed like this (unless you have your eyes on them).Zia
I purchased this dog bed about 5 years ago for my dog after a surgery and it was great but it eventually started falling apart so I recently purchased a new one. Upon arrival, I immediately realized that the quality was not as high as the previous version – the foam seemed cheaper and not as sturdy but seemed ok so we kept it. The main issue is the fabric that is used – it's also different and almost feels like vinyl or something and when our dog is sleeping and dreaming, he starts kicking his legs and the noise his legs make when rubbing against the fabric is SO LOUD. It is loud enough that it was constantly waking us up throughout the night so we eventually moved his bed out of the bedroom. I talked to support and they said I was outside of the 30 day return period and could do nothing. I recommend not spending hundreds of dollars on a cheap product with poor customer support.Nolan
We purchased the large bed for our dog about 1.5 – 2 years ago. Having laid on it myself (it's HUGE), I can say that the foam padding inside is comfortable but our dog never really took to it so it became his secondary bed in the house. He will nest occasionally but is not an aggressive digger by any means. So since this bed saw much less (and moderately gentle) use, it was a little surprising that we started noticing a small hole forming at one of the seams about a year after we bought it. Today there are so many large holes, again all at the seams, that can't put off replacing the cover any longer. This is particularly disappointing since the second bed we bought from a different manufacturer (which sees considerably more use) at about the same time is holding up much better. What is even more disappointing is that the limited warranty offered for the mattresses doesn't seem to extend to the dog beds despite the high price tag. They choose not to publish the cost of replacing the covers on the website so I had to get them from the customer service team. It could be possible that we got a defective product but, to our eyes, it looked perfectly normal when we received it and didn't start to show issues until the return period had ended. So, for any potential buyers, just be aware that you may be shelling out an additional $125.00 (large bed), $75.00 (medium bed), or $60.00 (small bed) when your cover falls apart in 12-18 months. For us, we will be replacing our Casper with a dog bed where the quality matches the price tag.Coltrane
