You can wash the outside of the bed fan but the inside is a paper bag filled with chopped up foam that can't be washed. i dont about everyione but I'll bet there goes outside and gets stinky. why would you sell a bed without a serviceable liner in it. I am thinking about throwing the inside bag away and buying another bed from a dufferent company that i can put inside that can be washed. The problem is that dog loves it ir i would throw it away. i have resirted to putting a large garbage bag over the stinky part so she can still use it until I can do better. To much work. This probably isn’t the review you’d expect, but my daughter LOVES this bed. When she was a few months old, we went on a family vacation and in lieu of spending $180 for a DockATot, we purchased this instead. This bed has literally been her obsession since that trip. Any time she sees it (even when I bring it downstairs to wash), she starts panting like a dog and rushes over to try and lay on it. We used it past the vacation and put it into her crib at home. She’s 20 months old now, and we’re trying to transition her to a toddler bed, but she keeps tossing and turning all night because she loves this dang dog bed so much and her regular toddler mattress just isn’t good enough for her. I came here to figure out what the minky fabric is that covers this darn bed so I can buy a fitted sheet of the same/similar texture to try and appease her and figured I would leave a review while I was here. We bought an extra when she was in daycare because she was having a rough time during nap time. My labrador loves these. The outside covers are washable. I have hung the covers to dry and they dry fast since microfiber does. I have also hosed down the foam. That takes longer to dry in the shade since most foams don't like direct sunlight. But it works. Eventually she digs a hole in the cover so I flip the foam inside and used the bottom on the top. I got this for our 9yo GSD who has until now always just considered a folded blanket his "bed". He wouldn't lay on anything the slightest bit pillowy or fluffy. I did have to coax him onto it the first time, but right away after that he started going and laying down there on his own, even when we were in another room (he usually just wants to hang with us). I bought this bed for my old arthritic dog because she needs better support in her old age. I would agree this bed provides the needed support but the foam barely fits inside the cover. After washing (which is required often because it's black), it is a two person job to get the foam back in. Because it barely fits, we have RIPPING AT THE SEAMS both on the top at the bolster cushion and bottom near the zipper. I have sent pictures to this company and they refuse to acknowledge that this damage is caused by POOR MANUFACTURING and not my dog. THE BREAKDOWN: This Serta – For Ewe 7” medium Firm Gel Memory Foam Mattress was certainly a hit for my 15-year daughter. My daughter dances about 5- 6 days a week for 4-5 hours a day and she absolutely fell in love with how comfortable this mattress was. She said that it formed to her body and made it feel like it was made just for her. As far as the cooling aspect she hadn’t noticed any difference from her regular mattress with springs. The box it arrived in was super sturdy and not as big as you would expect for a full-size mattress. Setup was super simple and easy. You remove the bag/bed from the box and use the little cutting tool that was provided to cut the paper and plastic then remove the bed from the plastic. Then you just let the bed fully form over the next few hours. The instructions stated that it could take up to 48 hours to fully expand. Overall, my daughter really loves the comfort of this mattress and is very pleased with it. PRO’s: – 7” medium firm mattress – Easy to set-up – 10-year warranty CON’s: – The cooling wasn’t really noticed. My wife and I struggled with finding a good nights sleep on our previous mattresses. We have had several different types of beds over the years, ranging from temperpedic, spring, etc. each one would last us a few years before we began to not sleep well over the nights. We were curious to a bed-put-of-a-box from all places, Best Buy. Since it was a Serta brand, we wanted to try it out. And we were so thankful that we did. We have been sleeping on this mattress for about 3 weeks now and we have been experiencing the best sleep since. Overall, we were surprised at the small box that it arrived in. We had ordered a Queen sized bed for our room and opened the box and found the mattress and a provided cutter. Unfortunately, the included cutter could not cut through the wrap because it was so dull. Finally getting it opened, the mattress unfurled rather quickly. The instructions indicate to allow 24-48 hours before it fully inflated, but can be slept on immediately. For a 9-inch mattress, it is shorter than our previous one. Fully inflated, we noticed right away that there is equal pressure on all areas of the mattress due to the memory foam. I can sleep towards the edge of the mattress, one side, middle, and it’s the same amount of pressure. My wife is been experiencing back, shoulder and neck pains which required her to be seen by an acupuncturist. Now, her joints and muscles have found a nice amount of pressure and support, allowing for less joint pain for her. What is a big seller for this Memory Foam mattress has been how well it has kept us cool throughout the night. I am someone who emits a lot of body heat. Thankfully, this mattress absorbs my body heat really well, allows good airflow and has kept both of us cool throughout the past 3 weeks. This mattress is THE mattress for those looking for firm support. Coming from a person with multiple bone related maladies, including deregulated body temperature issues, this mattress has not only supported my bone issues but has kept me cooler than usual during my sleep. Great mat but it showed and I had to open it and fully allow it to rise before we noticed it was not the correct size. I had measured and it seems this one is not the correct size. Weird as I order all the time. The box did not have the size or identification on it for me to confirm prior to opening. We purchased 2 xl beds. They came wrapped in plastic and vacuum sealed. The directions said they should fully expand in 24 to 72 hours. We are on day 5, and one of the beds is almost fully expanded, but the 2nd bed is still very squished in the center and corners. We are following the directions and shaking them several times a day. There's two main things I look for in things for my dog: 1) durability and 2) washability. Since my dog is still a puppy, I know he'll probably chew on this or scratch it up a bit (let's face it–dogs chew on things), but I think it will be just as durable or more than other pet beds. Since there's actually two covers–the removable, washable cover and than an inner pillow-like cover, I can spray the inner cover with bitter apple spray and that will help deter chewing. As for my second must-have, this has an easily removable outer cover that is machine washable and dryer safe. Nice! As for comfort, this bed can't be beat. The large size is big enough for my toddler to take a nap on, and would make a good camping mattress if you don't have pets. The shredded memory foam pet bed was tightly packaged for distribution and so it was quite compressed when I first removed it from the plastic bag. It quickly expanded to the size described. The dimensions of the pet bed are 46 inches by 28 inches as indicated and the top measures about 5 inches from the floor when not compacted. Our dog is a very large breed, so I wasn’t certain that this bed would accommodate her. She extends over the edges when she stretches out, but it is adequate for her usual sleep positions and she appears to be comfortable. It is flat, without any ridges, as pictured. The shredded memory foam fill is encased in material that is sewn into four compartments so the memory foam does not bunch up. The outer cover seems sturdy and has a zipper so it can easily be removed for laundering. The top of the cover is soft and suede-like while the fabric on the bottom feels like the outer layer of a sleeping bag. I do not detect any of the odors of the memory foam when the outer cover is on. The colors are neutral and should work well with most color schemes. The shredded memory foam makes the pet bed very flexible. It is simple to fold it up for storage when not in use or to take along for travel. I let my teen-age children try it out when I first brought it home. They campaigned strongly to designate it as the family TV pillow rather than the pet bed. We have two 74 lb greyhounds and we purchased this bed to try out in one of their crates and plan to buy a second if it works out. So far, both dogs seem to like it and it appears to be comfortable; however, because the filling is shredded memory foam and tends to shift around, they are digging around quite a bit before they settle and I’m concerned they may eventually damage the cover. In the photo, the bed looks thicker than the real thing. It’s nice and soft and thick enough if we put it on top of her old bed cushion. I haven’t tried to wash it yet, but I think it will be difficult to put the cover back onto the foam pad. What really matters most is that our old Basenji, who is 11 years old, loves it. This bed is very well made and my dog loves it! I have a 80lb lab mix who is starting to have hip issues. He likes to stretch out. The reviews/size guide indicated he would fit the large. I got the XL because he is pretty sprawly in our bed (we have a king). It is perfect for him. If your dog sleeps curled up, you can go with the large but for someone who stretches out this was perfect and the bed itself is not ridiculously oversized.AJPP
I had purchased the older version of this bed a few years ago (not from here thank gawd) it was amazing went to find another and found this which seems to be updated version. Well FINALLY got it (tractor supply cheap and doesnt pay for wknd delivery) the cover is so rough and not soft at all and what its sad is the arms are not attached.(so i could have planned for the extra space would have been nice to know. as much money as this costs as i first time customer i will be a last time customer.TC95
I have been through numerous beds and this one by far is the best. I was looking for something that wouldn't wear down and get flattened from use within mths. I was also looking for a waterproof liner as our Dane sometimes has accidents at night. This bed is just like a human mattress and the foam is lined to keep accidents out. Many beds have uncomfortable material that is used for the waterproofing, this bed has regular material for comfort where the dog lays and has a separate soft layer of waterproofed material around the foam mattress. Both can be taken off easily and washed. Really nice pet bed, aaaaalmost perfect but not quite. The good: the side bolsters are nicely structured with a squared off shape (as opposed to a tube on some cheaper construction), and they're well stuffed. The bottom of the bed zips open nice and wide for the memory foam insert to go in, and the zipper operates smoothly as well so there's no fighting to get the foam stuffed in. The bottom of the whole bed is a non-slip material and it actually really does stop the bed from slipping around on my hardwood floor. What keeps it from being perfect: I wish the bolster stuffing was removable instead of permanently stitched in for easier washing and drying. But this is me being picky.Ald1234
Kirby is 13 and developing arthritis. He needed a sturdy, couch-like bed. I ordered a few on Amazon but returned them all because they were so cheap! I’m so glad I found this one; it’s 100% worth the cost. Of course, I had to lay on it to test it out and WOW! I think this is comfier than our couches. The removable foam pad is super thick. It’s like a TempurPedic material, though, so washing will deteriorate it quickly. I decided to leave the whole foam pad in the plastic bag it came rolled up in. I zippered it in the bed just like that, hoping I’ll keep drool, water, etc from soaking into the foam. Yeah, it sounds kinda like a diaper when Kirby moves around but I don’t mind. The bed itself is supposedly washable; however, the bolsters don’t come off so we’ll see how that goes when the time comes. I keep the whole bed wrapped in a sheet for extra protection. Pictures attached. As you can see, Kirby absolutely loves it and has plenty of room to sprawl out in any position. Thank you, BB&B for providing a QUALITY bed for my old man. If properly taken care of, I think this bed will last years!
This is an excellent bed for my dogs, its large enough for each of them with room to spare(golden retriever, german shepherd and black lab) and is soft and comfortable! Of course after opening I had to lay on it to try it out and man, I wish my bed was as nice as this! Quality seems exceptional so I expect it to last for years. Dont know how itll do with dirt and stains but the cover comes off easily to wash so I'm not too worried. Would recommend, your pets will love it! Great quality, soft fabric, nice looking, easy to take apart and put back together to clean. Being that it’s orthopedic, it’s very firm which our golden retriever is still getting used to. He is 10 with arthritis and his previous bed was thin and lumpy so this bed is a huge improvement. We purchased a waterproof cover for the mattress.
