I am using this for a 75 lb doberman. It is a good height for her and it's nice to have her food and water together. She can be messy at times and this is easy to wipe clean. The bowls go in and out easily, but what I have done is place her old food bowl inside the stainless steel one. It is smaller in diameter and fits right inside the one that came with the feeder. It has the added advantage of catching additional spills. My only complaint would be that the feeder is light weight and can be easily scooted around on a tile floor. I will note that the bowls are probably more for a cat. We just happen to have a 9lb dog, so it's perfect for her. My main issue is with the quality of the "wood". The veneer is already (in a week) chipping or rubbing? away in spots. It came in the box with no protection around the base, just the bowls in were styrofoam. So maybe some of it even happened in delivery. Overall, for the cost, I'm afraid this won't hold up long enough to be worth it.sam_t

This looks great in person and is so heavy and sturdy. Only complaint I have is that the bowl moves around a bit when the dog is eating and it makes noise and shifts. From an appearance and function perspective, this is terrific. The height is perfect for my 30-lb dog, and our smaller 9 lb dog can also reach up for a drink of water when he is too lazy to go to his own bowl. The stainless steel insert bowls are of high quality. The design is perfect with our home decor. My one complaint is that the leg screws are too short. I managed to twist 2 of them into place, but the other 2 just wouldn't go in far enough to even engage with the screw thread in the leg. I ended up using Super Glue because I didn't have time to get to a hardware store and compare hardware sizes for a replacement. Might have been an anomaly. I love this feeder! When our Basset was younger, he had a companion and she would clean up his face after he drank from his dish. She passed on at 13 and he was left on his own. I got this for my puppy before realizing he is much to big. But for him it's perfect heights and it's really adorable too! It fits well Mywhere and it doesn't slide around at all. Since it was to small for my up I decided to use it as a feed bowl for my lizards. It serves as a hide for them as well as a place for their food and seed. It works great since these are desert animals thry constantly get their food intonthe sand and that just can not be tasty. Iwith thr bowls though thry are up off thr ground, provides another climbing space, a hide and nourishment all while providing mental stimulation! I love it but need to grab a few more for the others!C8lin

This is a good size feeder for a small dog or medium/large adult cat. Not for small cats or kittens, or larger dogs. It holds a good amount of food and comes with little plastic legs so it can be used right on a wood floor without any need for a mat to prevent slipping. I'm not sure this would be good for an animal that isn't well behaved, as it really wouldn't be that hard to force it open. This item arrived quickly, but it also has a large scratch on the side that is very noticeable. With some good cleaner and proper placement I think I can hide it, but I am really disappointed that it didn't arrive good as new. Also for anyone concerned about the attached picture, the stickers on the side and on the bowls came right off without any residue left behind.PickyCat
I would have preferred access to the food would be through the place where the bowl resides. I have seen it in another product I wish I would have bought. The cover has to be taken off to get to the food. Also, lots of water slops around when my dog drinks and it goes under the bowls which require frequent cleaning.Steven
