This large doggie orthopedic sofa bed is the best bed I've bought for my boxer. He loves this bed. The first night of sleeping on this bed was the best night for me…why…because He didn't wake me up until 9am instead of 7:30 am to go out to potty. The "cooling" side of the mattress is a lie. I know how cooling mattresses looks like and yours just have the color but not a cooling layer. My dog is very hot in his new bed during hot days and sleeps on the floor. Therefore, I feel cheated for having paid almost $50 for this bed. Also, the cover material is synthetic which naturally created heat and on top of a synthetic sponge creates a really too hot environment for my dog. The material is slippery so my elderly dog can hardly get up. The only reason I gave two stars is that the shape and height are good. Still, sizes you provide are inadequate and not a reflection of dog needs which is strange when Furheaven is in this business. My Yorki is a normal size. Yet, when I bought small which you recommend according to the size and weight chart as well as the sleeping area measurements you provided,he can fit well provided he is all the time in something like a fetus position and he doesn't move much. He cannot stretch or lie down in such a way so as to have at least an inch of space between himself and the sides of the bed. Dogs sometimes sleep in a stretched position and do need some extra space. Dogs also move during the sleep, swirl around, wiggle. So I had to get him a medium size which is really too big for him and the space where we keep it in our apartment but I am happy he has some extra space. Humans don't sleep in beds which are exactly their size. Standard beds even if a twin size have some extra space on all four sides because nobody stays in one position during the night. We absolutely LOVE this bed!!! It is extremely well made with separate zippered compartments for the bolster and bed padding. This makes it very easy to wash the cover and not the padding. I highly recommend the "Convoluted Orthopedic Foam" Mattress. As we live in California where the weather is warmer, the "Quilted" Cover material has been perfect all year round. This is actually our second bed that we bought. The first bed we bought for our an older dog who was starting to get arthritis and have back issues. We felt this bed greatly reduced his symptoms and made his last years much more comfortable. At a certain point we ordered a replacement cover for the first bed. It was still in such great condition when he passed that we could not get rid of it. Our new puppy found the bed and claimed it as her own. We decided to get a new cover for her along with another bed, so she had one in each room. We got the Medium size originally for a 35 LB older dog. Got this bed for an older 50 lb. dog needing a soft place to lay, also got another 4-5 inch thicker orthopedic bed for her.As soon as we opened and laid this bed out she got on it and didn't get off of it except to go out to the bathroom, then came right back to the bed. I got one of these beds (36” XL) for my pup who has separation anxiety. When she isn’t sleeping in bed with me, she is snuggled into her faux fur bed. The bottom is not very cushy but decent. We have a 55-60 lb dog and the 30×30 is way too big to be comfy but the next size smaller was cramped. I thought the fluffy fabric would be thicker but it is a bit thin for my taste. It does seem to be well constructed though. Do not stick this size in a large home dryer as it is too big and the heat will matte the fluffy strands (almost like melting) from the heat because it cannot move around enough. I have 3 cats and they do seem to enjoy the beds when they finally lay in it. As for my experience with my purchase, I am extremely upset. Over the last 2 years, I have completely purchased all new furniture from the Slumberland in Maple Grove Minnesota. The salesman knew that I had 3 upcoming surgeries and I also had fractured bones in my right hand. When my delivery came, the driver told me that he wasn't allowed to carry these 2 boxes into my home. Each box was 33 pounds. I had to lift them into my home and up 7 steps to the upper level of my home. I was very lucky that my grandson came and put them together for me. The next day I went back to this same Slumberland with my daughter. The salesperson, Nancy, came over and asked me how I liked the pet beds. When I told her how the boxes were left outside and no one would carry them upstairs, she replied, that's what you get with free delivery. I am still upset with her comment. NO one gave me an option to pay to have boxes brought into my home and put the beds together for me.NANCY

This is a well made bed. I have taken the cover off and put it in a wash a few times without any issues. My dogs like to dig prior to laying down and the fabric has not ripped. My cocker uses this as a play mat in the living room. Since he is not allowed on the sofa or carpet, this pad is for him to sit/lay comfortably while he hangs out with the family. It's padded enough to keep him comfortable and happy on the hard ceramic floors of our house. I've noticed that it's not padded enough for him to sleep comfortably through the night. After 3 or 4 hours, he'll go to his plush bed to get real sleep. My dog loved the mat as soon at it arrive. He knew it was his right when I was taking it out of the box. The mat arrived quickly and packaged well. No damage and in perfect condition. Once I took it out of the plastic and set it on the floor, it was ready to go. As a play mat, it can't be better. it's stain and odor resistant. My dog has oily skin that tends to be on the smellier side and I don't really see it affecting the mat much. The mat is black so I can't see the oily shadow that would usually appear on other dog beds I buy for my dog. The bottom is slip resistant. My cocker sheds and I like that the hairs don't stick to it. I can easily vacuum the mat with the crevice tool on my vacuum. I've had it a month and other than the rawhide/saliva marks that are left on it after a couple long chewing sessions, the bed still looks new. I just take some water, a toothbruch, and baby wipes to the rawhide/saliva marks and after some light brushing and wiping, it's clean again. I want to get a smaller one for my car. Excellent product. Have Midwest brand crates for greyhounds and no previous crate beds compares to this one. I have four of these beds now and am very pleased with overall quality. Perfect fit, doesn't move around, dogs love the bumper sides, and can be made more nest-like with addition of soft blanket. This size washes nicely in commercial machine and air dries rapidly in the event of an incident. Definitely would purchase again.Carolyn

Absolutely the most fantastic doggy bed for my little 6 pound Yorkie. Purchased the small which is actually larger than I thought, but is the perfect size allowing for him to lay stretched out if he likes vs. having to be curled up all the time like is the case with some other small bolster donut beds. The fur length & super soft, silky feel, the depth of the bed, the little “snuggle pockets” he can nuzzle under – all the way around, this bed checks all the boxes. Added bonus? The Fur Haven pet bed is better than I imagined. The cover is not the natty fleece that traps pet hair most similar beds are constructed of. The Fur Haven bed has a soft silky feel covering, is stuffed just soft enough and surprisingly lightweight, but NOT flimsy. I’m confident this will wash up nicely when the time comes. The price point is reasonable. I have owned dogs for decades – tried every pet bed possible (except the $200 plus beds). I mistakenly purchased 2. But actually glad I did. The bed is super soft and comfortable. Sometimes I find myself laying in it. My dog loves to rest and sleep in it. I now have two… one for the bedroom and one for the living room. I love that you can remove the cover and wash it as well. The customer service by FurHaven is amazing as well! The filling in one of the beds became flat, and another that I'd ordered had a hole in it, that they ended up sending me an entire new bed for free!
