I am so glad that we got to try this cot out! I have two dogs, a Jack Russell and a chow chow. My dogs did not want anything to do with this dog bed the first day and a half. But then we got the idea to put a fuzzy blanket on it and now both my dogs love it! I can’t blame them for wanting a blanket though, because it is winter in Minnesota currently! My plan for the summer is to put this dog bed outside so I am very excited about that! I think this will be my dogs new favorite spot to lay and look outside. My dog loves this cot and I think it’s pretty great too, especially since she loves it. The only change I would recommend to the company though is for the stuffing in the bolster to be bagged so that the bolster cover could easily be washed. Immediately out of the box and before I could even cut the tag off, the cats were all over this bed. Both cats and dogs are super attracted to it! The surface is extremely soft fluffy fur, the bolster is nice and firm and the bottom is filled fully enough to provide adequate cushion from the hard floor surface, which is important for senior pets like my dogs. The crevice between is irresistible to them all, every day they're burrowing in there to sleep or hide bones or toys and just general snout snuffling. My 16-year-old dog has had so many beds over the years and the more recently purchased ones have mostly been misses. I've invested so much money in fancy orthopedic-type beds that I thought he'd love and he ended up dissing, never used, and the cats took them over (the cats love all the beds). This is beautiful and very big. I have a 70 pound dog that looks so small in it. The edging has maintained very firm. However, the actual bedding part was so thin and did not give support. My dogs aren't huge fans of this bed — they're older and have trouble getting over the ledge. I purchased this very expensive dog bed about two months ago in hopes it would remain comfortable for my dog. At first it was great very plush and appeared comfy, unfortunately it gets flattened very fast. My dog only weighs about 65-70 lbs. When the lovely clean Harmony Blue Cuddler dog bed arrived, we loved the loft. By 'we' I mean my dog and I. Washing the pillow did not give good results and the bed started to smell, so time to get a new one. This is a great product for outdoor adventures! Now my dog has her own sleeping space when we go camping. It comes in a nice sleeve/case with handle for easy carrying and the material feels relatively sturdy. The zipper feels strong. I got the small/medium and even my 35lb Border Collie mix was able to comfortably curl up inside (although there wasn't much extra room). My husband and I recently went camping with our dog and the nighttime temps were in the low 30s. Despite having a down jacket on and being snuggled up next to the campfire, my poor pup was shivering all evening, so I was suuuper glad to have had this sleeping bag on hand. Of course I forgot to take any photos of us in the tent, but I was letting her bag air out on our balcony and she hopped back right in, so I think it's safe to say she loves it. My $0.02 on the Pros/Cons: Pros: = I know the reflective side is for warmth, but I liked how it made the bag even more visible in low light – this was especially helpful in the middle of the night. = The bag unzips on two sides so it can be opened up all the way to become a pretty decent sized pad or blanket (see photo 2). The zip closure has a protective fabric tab to keep from snagging on doggie fur (see photo 3). Cons: = The handle on the stuff sack is on the side, instead of the bottom of the bag. I don't really get the handle placement since every sleeping back stuff sack I've ever owned has the handle on the bottom to help with pulling the bag out of the stuff sack. This was just a minor inconvenience though. Also, you can't just push the sleeping bag into the stuff sack, the bag has to be rolled up. = I have only had this item for a few weeks and can't speak to its longevity. Other considerations: = I got the Small/Medium size and it was plenty spacious for my 30lb terrier. = This bag is a bit bulky and would best be used for car camping or daytrips.Cynthia
I like how this Backcountry X Petco line has a lot of products to get your pet ready for your next outdoor adventure. Colors are bright and fun. I got to try the pet sleeping bag in size S/M. Size works perfect for my medium sized dog (~21lbs), with some room to spare. At first I thought I should get it in L/XL just in case, but I’m glad I got the S/M instead. When we tried it at home my dog didn’t want to enter inside the sleeping bag, but it works just fine as a sleeping mat as well – you can even unzip the bag and make it an oversized sleeping mat. The thermal inside will keep your pet warm if needed, and the padded exterior will provide a cozy surface for your pet to chill out during the day or when it’s warm. By itself it looks like the solo picture without the dog…but the napper/bed itself has very little filling. The structure in the pictures is all because of the edge piping on the cover to the actual napper/bed insert, that adds the look of extra structure. The filling itself is very minimal and not at all what was expected based on product description and pictures provided. The dog in the picture with bedding around it is not realistic. This is an excellent product and 1800PetSupplies had the best price I could find. The cover is very durable, yet comfortable. The only reason I rated quality 4 stars (instead of 5) is that the bed stuffing could be better. After one night of sleeping on the bed, all of the stuffing is pushed to the side and the dog is resting on the hard floor in the center. I put some egg crate foam between the cover and stuffing and its much better. For the price, the mfg could put better stuffing in the bed. Eleven-year-old Rudy (who suffers from osteo-arthritis) had an earlier heated bed, and enjoyed it well enough, but it was nothing like this one. The Ortho Thermo bed is double-thick, and evenly warm. It seems admirmably durable, as well. Most importantly, however, I noticed an immediate change for the better in Rudy. He's spry again, and takes the lead in walks instead of lagging. I bought this in December for my shih tzu mix, who likes to sleep on a different bed I bought from K&H a year ago. He has ignored the new one, which is flat and has polyurethane foam pieces inside. He still sleeps on the older one, with has some loft because of the polyester inside. Maybe it's my fault; I take the new one to my bed so I can lie on it myself; the gentle heat is so comforting. This was for under our bed not a crate. Both the dog and the cat can stretch out together. Keeps them off the hard floors. Very large is also very soft. Has a pillow edge. Lower profile makes getting in and out of easy for both. Yeah the animals like pillows to. Also washable. They both seem to stretch out and pass out often. This is just an extra bed not a main bed. I am very pleased with this mat for my dog crate. More important, my dog loves it! It is not too thick, but it is easy to place other mats on top of this one if you do want to add extra degrees of thickness or warmth. I also loved the strips of adhesive on the bottom, which keeps the mat from sliding around on the bottom of the crate. It is easy to keep clean and I vacuum mine every 2 days and it is still in excellent condition. I also like the edging which goes around the entire mat. It keeps little pieces of food, etc from falling underneath the mat. As the weather is getting colder, I have added an extra mat inside and on top of this one. The size is perfect and the edging again is a benefit if you do want to add additional mats on top of this one as it keeps them in place. Most importantly, I have a Greyhound and they are very angular and bony. A good quality mat is a necessity. She is also picky and this mat is her favorite. I tried a number of mats before finding this one and I rate this as my favorite for the bottom of any dog crate.alicewndrlnd414
I got the XL size which was actually larger than I needed, but it allows my new rescue dog to both curl up on one side and also stretch out (she weighs about 50 pounds). I got two, in fact – one for my office and one upstairs in my living room. I'm thinking of getting one or two smaller ones for next to my chair and next to my piano (she wants to be RIGHT NEXT to me wherever I am… so right now there are miscellaneous towels and rugs all over the house, since she loves to have something to snuggle into)cgpspencer
