This kennel looks great in your home. It’s much more decorative than a traditional crate. And for the price of why not? Well that’s easy. It’s not as functional as a traditional kennel. I read reviews before buying this, and a lot of those reviews stated that their dogs tore this kennel apart. But I thought my dog shouldn’t have a problem with that because she is crate trained. As a matter of fact she went into her old kennel willingly without anyone asking all of the time. It was her safe space I think. Never tried to break out. But the thing with this kennel is the material that it is made out of is weak and if you’re a pitbull, very soft. My dog chewed the bars out with ease and the fake wood was like bubblegum to her. I love this kennel because of the way it looks in my room but for how strong it is NOT, it is incredibly over priced.BrianaL02
I love the small "escape proof" crate! Its a gem! The price is great especially with free shipping! my chihuahua figured out how to escape from her other crate and caused a huge ruckus in the apt complex. My one Yorkie won't come out of this crate -he loves it! Ordered the small and my medium sized Yorkies have plenty of room even with cushions and blankets! Just be ready to make tiny predrilled holes bigger with drill bit little bigger than size of screws or you'll need the Hulk to get screws in! Just be careful not to drill through to other side! That's my only small complaint! Definitely recommend- you will not be disappointed! Gives room put together look! See pics. Came packed well with no damage and arrived quickly! However, the locking latch could've been more sturdy. The wooden bars across the windows were also not as solid as I would've preferred. The first time using it was the evening I received it. When I returned home after 4 hrs.he was at the door when I opened it. I bought this product as a means to contain my pet while I'm away. I use to let him run the house until I returned but in the last 4 weeks there have been too many events taken place while I'm gone. Heavy, well-made genuine wood end table that has a high lacquer glossy finish like a baby grand piano typically has . It looks really good! The space between each bar is probably about an inch and a quarter, which feels to me a little bit like a jail cell looks in the movies rather than a comfortable dog crate. The closeness of the vertical bars is likely to help prevent chewing if that is a tendency someone's dog has. The locks are sturdy and complex enough that my dog (or cat) can't unlock them. The only complaint I have is that there was a sticker affixed to the top edge of the table which was absolutely impossible to get off without using Goo Gone. That was frustrating because I had to go buy a bottle of Goo Gone, which required more of my time over and above the 1 1/2 to 2 hours it took to assemble this product.JoyfulLiving
Part of the reason I bought this crate was because of all the good reviews. As I was disappointed with the item, I wrote a negative review and Orvis deleted it!! This entire experience has really turned me off Orvis despite previous positive experiences with the company. Regarding the crate – it has no floor other the the thin plastic pan!! In my opinion, a "crate" is a 6-sided item – top, bottom, and 4 vertical sides made from the primary material. This is a 5 sided item with a thin piece of plastic for the bottom. Definitely not worth the price and I would return it if it wasn't so darn difficult. Save your money and have one custom made.KELea
This is an attractive, sturdy kennel. Since we keep it in our living room, I was pleased with the appearance. For that, I would give 5 stars. Why the star knock off? There is not bottom to it. There is a removeable pan that my older dog just did not like. I put beds, blankets, padding, etc. in it-still he didn't like it. So, I removed the pan and then ordered many beds to fit inside. Guess what? It's a size that beds just don't fit nicely into-either they are too big or too small. For the price, it should be a size that a bed fits into. I ended up having to cut carpet the size of the bottom, place it in, then put a bed that was too small on top of that. It is difficult to move, also, because there's no bottom you can't just scoot it across the floor. My dog actually liked it his old travel kennel much better-he will use it, but it's not as much as he would go into his old kennel when he wanted his quiet space. Kennel came in this morning, put it together with the worst set of instructions possible. They are hard to read and only labels with bubble numbers. This kennel looks great in your home. It’s much more decorative than a traditional crate. And for the price of why not? Well that’s easy. It’s not as functional as a traditional kennel. I read reviews before buying this, and a lot of those reviews stated that their dogs tore this kennel apart. But I thought my dog shouldn’t have a problem with that because she is crate trained. As a matter of fact she went into her old kennel willingly without anyone asking all of the time. It was her safe space I think. Never tried to break out. But the thing with this kennel is the material that it is made out of is weak and if you’re a pitbull, very soft. My dog chewed the bars out with ease and the fake wood was like bubblegum to her. I love this kennel because of the way it looks in my room but for how strong it is NOT, it is incredibly over priced.BrianaL02
Aesthetically pleasing as it blends with other furniture. Easy assembly, and the size is great for a mid to small dog or other animals that fit the size group. Will accomodate bed or blanket inside with mid-height walls which cuts down distractions, noise, and hair from drifting beyond crate. Well worth the cost while giving canines the comfort of home.
Poorly made crate, screws are plastic. Weight recommendation of dogs that would be able to use the crate is overstated. Crate would be appropriate for a dog up to 10 pounds. On the positive side assembly was simply but as previously stated the actual crate is substandard in quality. This is a crate that will need to be replaced in 5 years and $170.00 taxes included is disappointing.Joseph

I love this crate/end table. Easy to assemble and it's very sturdy. As for the durability I can't yet answer as I just received and my puppy is only 2.4 pounds right now. I do wish they came a bit smaller. I am having two issues and am awaiting a return call from the manufacturer The first issue is the door doesn't stay open for the pet to freely go in and out when allowed. Second is that the door rubs the bottom of the crate and over a period of opening and closing it will wear. Which may be the reason the door doesn't stay open. I will update as I hear from the supplier and advise.Kimberly
Assembly was easy. Crate looks very nice with our other furniture. I do not like the latch system though. Very difficult to get it to latch in the dark as everything has to be aligned perfectly for it to securely latch. Also, it is wood so if you have a chewer, you may be missing some of the slats soon. Our little dog (22#s) likes to chew on the wood slats. I resolved this issue with some Bitter Apple Spray that seems to have stopped the chewing but would recommend spraying before putting you pet in this so that it stays looking nice.Deacon Beard
I really like this crate. It was easy to put together which is very important to me. The crate looks good and is solid. My only issue with the crate is that the latch was already attached to the door and it is a bit crooked. Not a big deal, honestly, but it drives my OCD crazy! I would happily purchase again.

I purchased 2 of these crates in white for the master bedroom in our beach condo. Assembly was quick and easy. These crates are SO much more attractive than plastic and metal dog crates. I placed the fronts of the crates side by side, and they are about 50" wide total. The large flat surface on top is nice for stacking the extra pillows from our bed when we go to bed at night. The crates are roomy inside, so if you're debating between sizes, I'd recommend sizing down. At first, I didn't know if I'd like that they don't have a floor in them, but now, I love it because cleaning or moving them is so much easier. My dogs' beds fit great inside the crates. Sturdy and our Lulu loves it. She is a 5 months chocolate lab and has plenty of room to grow to! This will be her forever little home! Gave it 4 stars because it came with a small dent/scratch imperfection on the top. Orher than that super recommend!

It is easy to assemble. It looks nice and my dogs find it comfortable. I also appreciate the fact that the floor of the crate is a removable plastic tray that is easily cleaned. However, if you're going to use the door, you need a lot of space for it to swing. I think it is a good value and I'm glad that I bought it but I wouldn't call it an "excellent" value because the quality of the construction and the finish is only good, with some of the joints not exact or expertly finished with even coating and no spots missed. There could have been a little more attention to detail. Overall, I have found this to be a very good product so far and would recommend it for homes with dogs who are not still in the chewing phase or like to scratch and dig. Looks great in my living room. 4 stars because the latch isnt great and one of the magnet pieces that holds the doors shut just fell off and it hasnt been a month using it. The latch does keep my dog in for now, but Ill probably change it to something a little more sturdy.Anonymous
