This kennel looks great in your home. It’s much more decorative than a traditional crate. And for the price of why not? Well that’s easy. It’s not as functional as a traditional kennel. I read reviews before buying this, and a lot of those reviews stated that their dogs tore this kennel apart. But I thought my dog shouldn’t have a problem with that because she is crate trained. As a matter of fact she went into her old kennel willingly without anyone asking all of the time. It was her safe space I think. Never tried to break out. But the thing with this kennel is the material that it is made out of is weak and if you’re a pitbull, very soft. My dog chewed the bars out with ease and the fake wood was like bubblegum to her. Kennel came in this morning, put it together with the worst set of instructions possible. They are hard to read and only labels with bubble numbers. Got the kennel together put our 50 pound pup in it. Left to run some errands. Came back he was still locked up but had destroyed the door, bent the wires. It is a thin type of material. The sides and such are put together with plastic screws, not metal. A big minus for me was the bottom for the crate. I am using to created train a puppy, I was hoping it had a pan like the metal crates with sides to catch urine. Instead it is just a flat piece that fits inside, leaving gaps around the edges. This crate is great for a dog that enjoys being kenneled. The walls are held together with eight plastic screws and the whole thing can be lifted easily by one adult… couldn't be more than 50lbs. There is a warning on this product to only start the screws with a power screwdriver. My advice is to use a hand screwdriver ONLY. The holes are drilled too large for the size screws that are used where even tightening by hand will strip the hole. Also, the many of the holes where the screws are hidden by plastic plugs are drilled too large where I had to shim the holes to get the plugs to stay in. Sad, because the design is attractive and the size is perfect for our dog. So long as it stays in one place, it shouldn't loosen up. However if I do see it loosening, I will simply disassemble it, apply wood glue to the joints and screw it back together with clamps until the glue dries. The manufacturer should be held accountable by LTDC for correcting these issues!BobD8487
I guess I should have figured it was poor quality with the price.As other sites were more but they seemed bigger so tried but not a good choice.The holes didn’t all line up. A couple started to split. Didn’t use power drill like recommended probably would have destroyed it. Back panels are a very thin and if pushed on by dog will break or pop out. Latch doesn’t stay closed so dog could figure out how to slide it open. And if using in house as end table anything you put on it will scratch it or spot it. Looks cheap.The pressed board pieces have a dull & shiny side which all don’t match. Going to have to repaint it with a paint that will hold up and maybe a piece of real wood or veneer on top to make it look presentable. Purchased the dog crate because it seemed functional but attractive. The crate actually is finished nicely. But as we were putting it together we realized one of the back panel was not included. At that point we had the crate almost completed. I called Lakeside to inform them. They had me to take apart the crate, box it and send it back to them. They told me they would then send a replacement crate after they received the defective crate. I only needed one back panel. They informed me that they could not send just a part. I love this crate/end table. Easy to assemble and it's very sturdy. As for the durability I can't yet answer as I just received and my puppy is only 2.4 pounds right now. I do wish they came a bit smaller. I am having two issues and am awaiting a return call from the manufacturer The first issue is the door doesn't stay open for the pet to freely go in and out when allowed. Second is that the door rubs the bottom of the crate and over a period of opening and closing it will wear. Which may be the reason the door doesn't stay open. Assembly was easy. Crate looks very nice with our other furniture. I do not like the latch system though. Very difficult to get it to latch in the dark as everything has to be aligned perfectly for it to securely latch. Also, it is wood so if you have a chewer, you may be missing some of the slats soon. I really like this crate. It was easy to put together which is very important to me. The crate looks good and is solid. My only issue with the crate is that the latch was already attached to the door and it is a bit crooked. Not a big deal, honestly, but it drives my OCD crazy! I would happily purchase again.

Looks great in my living room. 4 stars because the latch isnt great and one of the magnet pieces that holds the doors shut just fell off and it hasnt been a month using it. The latch does keep my dog in for now, but Ill probably change it to something a little more sturdy.Anonymous

The crate is perfect in terms of size and style. Only had a slight issue with the quality the items arrived in. Some of the materials were a bit scuffed though nothing noticeable once the dog blankets were added and the crate is in its spot. Also not a huge fan of the latches. They could be more aesthetically pleasing if they were black like the frame. Plus they are a bit sharp. Overall I like it enough to keep it and it works for what I bought it for. Also would be great is it could hold weight because it looks like a bench haha.Darby
