I ordered a Medium, and I'm pretty sure I got a Large. It's bigger than the Medium size bed, and since it's for my kitten, I'm really hoping he grows into it! I have this exact same bed in a medium size that I purchased years ago, and the foam in that one is a LOT thicker than the foam in the one I received from Groupon. I'm not sure if that's a change in production/quality by Furhaven products, but I do wish the foam was thicker, especially for such a large bed. My kitten seems to like it, so I'm keeping it, even though it's HUGE for him.
My two dogs, who are very particular about laying on blankets and pillows, both gravitated to this bed as soon as I put it out for them. They love the combination of the orthopedic bed with the soft and fuzzy plush covering on it and will stay there for hours, when they used to only curl up on the couch with a blanket with a human. I ordered this after my 60lb Golden girl refused to leave my sister’s Golden’s bed over the holidays. My sister told me where she got it and I ordered my girl one immediately! I got one of these beds (36” XL) for my pup who has separation anxiety. When she isn’t sleeping in bed with me, she is snuggled into her faux fur bed. I brought it to my parent’s place when I had a trip and, surprisingly to all of us, my dad’s 10 yr old Anatolian Shepard Mix (who was born in a cave in Afghanistan) fell in love with it. This has to be the best dog bed I have ever purchased. My dog plays toss with it. My baby also hides his toys and bones in it and He sleeps in it. It is super soft and furry. I do not recommend washing no matter ehat the instructions state but spot clean it as needed. I have never seen a pet bed washed that comes out like it went in. I cannot say anything negative about this pet bed except I need more for the cats. This particular size pet bed runs for around $35. The bottom is not very cushy but decent. We have a 55-60 lb dog and the 30×30 is way too big to be comfy but the next size smaller was cramped. I thought the fluffy fabric would be thicker but it is a bit thin for my taste. It does seem to be well constructed though. Do not stick this size in a large home dryer as it is too big and the heat will matte the fluffy strands (almost like melting) from the heat because it cannot move around enough. I bought this for my lab-ish dog who is getting up there in years and isn't as comfortable on the floor. She LOVES it! It is big enough that she can sleep in a ball or stretch all the way out. The memory foam in the bottom takes 24 hours to expand before it goes in the bed. it is so thick and high quality. Very thick padding on bottom of bed. It is actually several inches thick. Even with me sitting in it, I can't feel the floor. I think this would be great for older dogs due to the thick padding on base. The padding comes separate from the bed and when you unroll it, it increases in size. To assemble it, you just zip it in the bottom. The bottom base is rectangular and covers the whole entire bed at the bottom so no part of your dog is ever touching the hard ground. The bed is surrounded by thick bolsters and pretty flexible that the sides will move out if you dog wants to curl up or if they touch against the sides. My dog likes to use the side cushions as a head rest. I got the medium size for my dog who is a ~33lbs Shiba Inu. He's pretty big for his breed but it fits him perfectly when he decides to roll up in it and also he likes sleeping in it with his head up. Overall, its a great dog bed for a dog that likes to be snugged up and I think would be very supportive if your dog had hip/joint issues. Great mat but it showed and I had to open it and fully allow it to rise before we noticed it was not the correct size. I had measured and it seems this one is not the correct size. Weird as I order all the time. The box did not have the size or identification on it for me to confirm prior to opening. This seems to be a good dog bed. Be prepared…. it takes 3 to 4 days for it to “fluff up”. It comes rolled up and it was really flat considering the specifications said it was 4” high! We purchased 2 xl beds. They came wrapped in plastic and vacuum sealed. The directions said they should fully expand in 24 to 72 hours. We are on day 5, and one of the beds is almost fully expanded, but the 2nd bed is still very squished in the center and corners. We are following the directions and shaking them several times a day. Although I did not keep the one I ordered, I still think it os a great product. My 8 year old shih tzu is arthritic and needed a better bed. This is a very firm bed. It would best fit a dog above 40 pounds or so. My girl only weighs 20 and it was just too firm fir her. It is well made, good zippers and removeable washable cover. You can wash the outside of the bed fan but the inside is a paper bag filled with chopped up foam that can't be washed. i dont about everyione but I'll bet there goes outside and gets stinky. why would you sell a bed without a serviceable liner in it. I am thinking about throwing the inside bag away and buying another bed from a dufferent company that i can put inside that can be washed. The problem is that dog loves it ir i would throw it away. i have resirted to putting a large garbage bag over the stinky part so she can still use it until I can do better. To much work. This probably isn’t the review you’d expect, but my daughter LOVES this bed. When she was a few months old, we went on a family vacation and in lieu of spending $180 for a DockATot, we purchased this instead. This bed has literally been her obsession since that trip. Any time she sees it (even when I bring it downstairs to wash), she starts panting like a dog and rushes over to try and lay on it. We used it past the vacation and put it into her crib at home. She’s 20 months old now, and we’re trying to transition her to a toddler bed, but she keeps tossing and turning all night because she loves this dang dog bed so much and her regular toddler mattress just isn’t good enough for her. I came here to figure out what the minky fabric is that covers this darn bed so I can buy a fitted sheet of the same/similar texture to try and appease her and figured I would leave a review while I was here. I bought this medium sized bed for an adult male Golden Retriever, and it's a perfect fit. This was a replacement for a larger sized Beasley's Couch (no longer available). He wouldn't sleep in it with the removable cushion, so I took that out. The bolsters seem a bit firm, but they're zippered so you can remove some of the stuffing to customize the firmness–that's a nice touch. The orthopedic foam base is adequate, but I'll eventually replace it with 3-inch memory foam to make it super cushy. Assembling the bed was challenging for a senior citizen with bad shoulders, but I finally got it together. (It's a very snug fit.) I keep it covered with a fleece throw so I can wash that often without having to disassemble and reassemble the bed again. This bed seems very well made with nice features. This is my 2nd Carolina Ortho sleeper bed. My dog loves this bed so much that after 7 years she finally wore out her 1st one. I was so excited to find it here for a fraction of the cost where i purchased it last time. The bed came well packaged and arrived faster than the time they originally told me. My dog is a 130lb. I bought this about a week ago and just got it today. I’m sure the bed would be nice…if it didn’t come in about six pieces. I’m trying to figure out how to assemble a pet bed (which is just ridiculous) while my dogs won’t leave it alone. I assumed for the price of over $200 that I wouldn’t have to put it together too. I don’t recommend this it’s just a small amount of egg crate padding, three stuffed pillows, a cover, and a pillow top to actually add protection and comfort to your dog. Don’t waste the money when you should buy all this separately for a whole lot cheaper ( since you have to make it yourself anyways).Lee1315

I bought two of these for my Rough Collie. He was about 70-75 pounds and very old. I needed something to keep him off the hard floor. He road 1500 miles in the back of my car on his bed and was super comfy the whole way! We had them in the bedroom and in the living room for him. He loved them a lot. We had them for close to 2 years before another dog decided to keep urinating on them. I was able to wash the covers easily but the foam was getting really stained and gross smelling.Raquel C.
So far this bed seems great. My favorite part is that it didn't have any foam odor when it arrived! Foam seems very high quality. _x000D_ My dog has not used it much yet but I have noticed the top and bottom fabric of the bed is a bit slippery. The first time my dog got on the bed his backside slide off the bed as the bed moved forward. I probably would have been better off with a bolster style and different fabric for him especially now that he is an advanced senior. I have two dogs, a mini-Aussie in this size range and a border collie slightly larger than this range. Both use the bed happily (never together). The fabric isn’t showing any signs of wear. The egg crate is somewhat compressed, but still offers plenty of padding (I can’t touch the floor through it). We own two of these exact beds (one is 4 month of use and the other less than a month). This is holding up nicely compared to many more expensive beds on the market. I have been very happy with our purchases. Ok so I have 3 great Danes. I thought they would love these…I bought 4 of them..no. they won't go near them. … so why do I give them 5 stars… I use them for exercise mats! They are great! Also … my husband thought our mattress was too soft. I used a couple on his side under the foam mattress pad we have on the bed. They work great! Happy husband. Maybe not the conventional use for them but they work for me ! They are not hard but just firm. They still have cushion but also good support. So they work great as an exercise mat.Sheree

This is my second recent purchase of a dog bed by PetMaker, and I've ordered a third. The orthopedic foam is firm and dense enough to provide excellent support at a reasonable mid-range price. If your dog prefers to nestle into a fluffy bed, this is not the bed for that. If you're expecting memory foam that allows the dog's body to sink into the foam and conforms around the dog's body, this is not the bed for that. This is an orthopedic foam bed that will support the dog's weight and provide cushioning and comfort on a hard floor or crate. Dogs with mobility issues may have an easier time getting on and off this type of bed because they won't sink into it and struggle to get out. The foam does need a few days to fully decompress and reach three inches in height. The cover has an almost velvety finish, and the fabric is on the thinner side. So if your dog tends to maul the bed, you may want to look elsewhere for a tougher fabric (or train your dog not to maul the bed). Based on my initial impression, this dog bed seems to be of good quality and should last a good while.RottnPittieMom
The touted medical-caliber foam is exaggerative; I've used shipping foam that was sturdier. I have similar beds I purchased a decade ago at half the price from another major warehouse discount store that are four times better than these. The color was pleasing but that's about it. I looked at the specifications which said they're 5.50 H & took a chance, but the 3 H is accurate. I bought the Jumbo for a dog close to 100 lbs the size was fine but the thickness is no where near adequate for a big dog.shouffre
Wow; does Nicki absolutely LOVE her new bed!! I've literally searched forever for an Ortho bed/pillow for my Rottie/Lab mix. She's a large, heavy – but beautiful girl – who was rescued during a animal cruelty seizure. The reason I mention this is that she'd been physically abused (while pregnant before turning 5 months!) and she has, as a result, bad hips & sore leg joints. In other words, it's painful for her to sleep on the hard floors inside & the deck outside. Our existing large pillow-type bed basically had a giant dent in "her spot" and provided virtually no padding. This Ortho Pillow has NOT dented, not shredded from her digging before lying down, is super easy to clean AND moves from inside to out on the deck with us. Got this bed for an older 50 lb. dog needing a soft place to lay, also got another 4-5 inch thicker orthopedic bed for her.As soon as we opened and laid this bed out she got on it and didn't get off of it except to go out to the bathroom, then came right back to the bed. It gives a little from her lying on it but I just shake it out to fluff it up. Its not real thick about 2 inches but soft and she seems to like it better than the sheepskin rug she use to sleep on.She rotates from this to the thicker bed, but I think this one gets a little more use.All in all a good bed that is easy to throw in the washing machine, soft and good neutral color.
