Before we actually let our dog test it out, I didn't really expect it to be this big nor that comfortable where my daughter and mom actually sat on it before the dog did ha ha. The material is super soft it feel like a regular cloudy couch. Kind of like a throw but as a doggy bed. When our dog finally came home she really enjoyed her new bed especially since it's been cold it kept her really warm. She didn't know how to act after she got very comfortable in it. She didn't want to get up from it so that made me very happy that she actually like this bed. Beautiful cozy dog bed that’s easy to care for and looks nice in your home. The cover unzips easily, washes quickly in the washing machine and tumble dries fast with no signs of wear. Loved this bed so much I got a second one. Only problem came when we got a new dog that likes to nest and has sharp claws. The cover couldn’t stand up to that and ripped after a while. Once the cover ripped it’s game over because dogs have quick access to the fun stuffing. The dogs loved this bed for over a year but I can’t get another one because of our Pointer’s nesting habit. We have purchased quite a few items from PetSafe over the years and have always been happy with the quality. The idea of it is cool. Our pup likes to go the park but I always take the older car. The gray color of this is nice and it doesn't look too bad with my new car interior. It secures to the headrest and seats. The bolster is quite firm and supportive but it isn't my favorite PetSafe item by far. While inserting the bolster, my fingers kept poking through the fabric. I've dealt with the same type of fabric before with other beds and never had an issue. Once I got it in there, the zipper was stretched to the max. I was sure it was going to be the first thing to go. It says this bed is machine washable but I wouldn't. The actual fuzzy part of the bed has a cushion you insert too but even with it, there's no "bed" at all really. Very thin materials. It's not holding up well so far. If you have a smaller dog that doesn't move around much in the backseat it may work better. I just don't think it holds up good for big dogs like mine. My wife's car has leather seats and we noticed that the bed slips all over the place. No grippers on the bottom at all. I can't really recommend it.semiller3

We always bring travel mats if the girls visit friends' homes with us. That said, there are a couple improvements I would like to see: 1. It would be nice if there was such a thing as a mostly waterproof brushed surface. This particular bed is too slippery for use in the car and every time my husband drives around a corner, the dogs have to dig their claws in (we put travel beds on top of the Kurgo hammocks so each girl knows her space..). 2. The buckles / loops for the Velcro, while effective, create a bump under the cushion. A reinforced Cordura sort of loop might work better.Boomer
This bed is extremely well made, GREAT cool red color. It is easy to fold into a small roll and has a great carrying handle. I love the slip-proof material on the underside. At first our dog was hesitant about laying on the fabric- he only knows fleece or shearling- but then he got used to it and now loves to lay on it by the front door and watch the neighborhood. Our weather has not permitted outdoor use yet. My only complaint is that it only come in a size medium, which is way too small for our 64 lb Lab puppy. It would not be functional for us. I purchased the medium loft wander bed several years ago, and this bed has never let me down. I use it mainly for overnight trips and dog training, giving my pups designated rest zone in busy areas. The picture angles are a little funny, making it look a bit too small for my pups. However, my 75 pound lab can fit his body and elbows making it a perfect size travel bed. I did have to make one tiny repair to the seam between the liner and the main top, but with how much I use/wash it any other bed would be toast by now. This bed is worth the money!Frierborn49

The website did not show a Proposition 65 Cancer Warning. It was in a label on the BOTTOM of the dog bed. Luckily, I saw it immediately when I inspected it. It is not PETCO's fault–the manufacturer should have notified PETCO and then I am sure they would put the warning in the ad, but, SERIOUSLY? Who would love their darling pet enough to buy them a $100 dog bed if they knew it came with a cancer warning. I wish stores would stop carrying these items, but, it would be hard because it is in so many things… This dog bed is going back to the store tomorrow, for sure. This large doggie orthopedic sofa bed is the best bed I've bought for my boxer. He loves this bed. The first night of sleeping on this bed was the best night for me…why…because He didn't wake me up until 9am instead of 7:30 am to go out to potty. I believe he had a more comfortable sleep, also because he appeared to have more engery…jumping around like a Jack rabbit, circling around me wagging his tail as to say thankyou. He hasn't slept in his crate since sleeping on his new bed. I put his favorite blanket over it and now its not pulled all over the floor. Best bed for my buddy ever.Jazzy
The "cooling" side of the mattress is a lie. I know how cooling mattresses looks like and yours just have the color but not a cooling layer. My dog is very hot in his new bed during hot days and sleeps on the floor. Therefore, I feel cheated for having paid almost $50 for this bed. Also, the cover material is synthetic which naturally created heat and on top of a synthetic sponge creates a really too hot environment for my dog. The material is slippery so my elderly dog can hardly get up. The only reason I gave two stars is that the shape and height are good. Still, sizes you provide are inadequate and not a reflection of dog needs which is strange when Furheaven is in this business. My Yorki is a normal size. Yet, when I bought small which you recommend according to the size and weight chart as well as the sleeping area measurements you provided,he can fit well provided he is all the time in something like a fetus position and he doesn't move much. He cannot stretch or lie down in such a way so as to have at least an inch of space between himself and the sides of the bed. Dogs sometimes sleep in a stretched position and do need some extra space. Dogs also move during the sleep, swirl around, wiggle. So I had to get him a medium size which is really too big for him and the space where we keep it in our apartment but I am happy he has some extra space. Humans don't sleep in beds which are exactly their size. Standard beds even if a twin size have some extra space on all four sides because nobody stays in one position during the night. Why would it be any different for dogs especially when it's known that they sleep most of the time. I don't get it.Zenja B.
We absolutely LOVE this bed!!! It is extremely well made with separate zippered compartments for the bolster and bed padding. This makes it very easy to wash the cover and not the padding. I highly recommend the "Convoluted Orthopedic Foam" Mattress. As we live in California where the weather is warmer, the "Quilted" Cover material has been perfect all year round. This is actually our second bed that we bought. The first bed we bought for our an older dog who was starting to get arthritis and have back issues. We felt this bed greatly reduced his symptoms and made his last years much more comfortable. At a certain point we ordered a replacement cover for the first bed. It was still in such great condition when he passed that we could not get rid of it. Our new puppy found the bed and claimed it as her own. We decided to get a new cover for her along with another bed, so she had one in each room. We got the Medium size originally for a 35 LB older dog. The puppy is currently 20LB, but will probably be 35-40 LB as an adult. This has provided plenty of room for both dogs.Joan B.

I would have given this 5 stars had they had all the colors shown – a pet peeve (like that pun?) of mine. I haven't really used the two beds purchased yet but I have seen similar in stores and this one seems to be of better quality. A bit thicker on the bottom. I didn't measure it like some reviewers but my dogs are 8 lbs. and under so I know they will fit. These are good for up on the couch or on the deck outside and the price was reasonable with the $20 off entire purchase. I would not have paid full price for this type of bed. It is SMALLER than advertised size (not 30×21, maybe 28×19 if I round up), not at all padded except on the outer ring and STINKS something awful. It's more like a bath mat with a ledge around it. Actually, my memory foam bath mat is 10 times as thick and padded. I'll be returning this and would only recommend if your dog is a lightweight breed that is nose blind.Leslie
I bought this pet bed for the blue crate I ended up with. It fits fine. I read some reviews that said it was too thin. I guess it could have more padding on the bottom, but it seems ok for my 5 month old, 3 pound puppy. It really is very attractive and so nice from the regular pet beds. It washes up good, too. This is a well made dog bed. Easy to put together, very comfortable for my dog, stays cleaner than other dog beds, easy to remove and wash. I have a labrador retriever and initially got the large size, but exchanged it for the jumbo. The large size was a good size, but upon watching him sleep, i found out he likes to stretch out. Yes the jumbo size is very large and requires a lot of space in your room, but it is worth it to see him stretch out or curled up in his very comfy bed. A little pricey but he is worth it. I tried other beds and they are of inferior quality and won't last long. I highly recommend it. For your reference my dog is about 73 Lbs and measured 40 inches when laying down and lightly curled. Two dogs could fit in the jumbo bed if they decide to curl and lay next to each other. But not for stretching in a hot summer evening.Love Labradors 2
My 13 year old Lab was going for spirited 2 mile walks 4 months ago but alas, age it seems has finally caught up with my dearest and closest friend. His hips and knees have been noticeably troubling him, especially in the morning after a long sleep. He’s always had doggy beds but now more than ever I want him to be as comfortable as possible. This bed is FANTASTIC and my good boy loves it! He is 74 lbs but tall and lanky. The large measurements were too small for him, if you look in the picture the golden retriever in the large has zero room to stretch out. I am so glad I went with the XL. My sweet boy can lounge and stretch and get as comfy as his heart desires. I ordered the brown color but have a small blanket draped over it in the image. We got our dog bed 6 ish years ago and it's a favorite with our fur family. The sun and washing has lightened it but the stitching and zipper have held up amazing. We did add a piece of memory foam to the middle for our 14 year old dog when he was spending longer days on it (fit no worries). We're getting another but the first one has lots of life left in it.
