Best purchase ever. To train my puppy to use this I collected some of his urine and placed it on the mat for him to smell. Immediately he used the pet loo. I don't bother with the Pee sponge. I wasn't looking for the petloo at all as I thought it would not serve my purpose which was to introduce 5 week old puppies to basic toilet training. Luckily the lady that served me was a breeder and told me she used the petloo from 3-4 weeks of age. Although very hesitant at first due to the cost, I decided to give it a go and it has been a lifesaver! The puppies took no time at all adjusting to the petloo and the whelping area that usually resembled a Jackson Pollock painting every morning is now literally a 3 minute cleanup! I highly recommend it for litter training. Weh the pups are young, use turf only with a peepad. When pups are able to climb, introduce the base. Took 1 star off due to flimsy clips that hold the turf in place. I can see this being a problem for larger rambunctious puppies who might chew them and dislodge the turf.ellyD
I bought this for my 8 week old French Bulldog and it has been a fantastic addition. We live in the city and were cautioned against taking him to public areas for potty breaks until he has completed his vaccinations. We keep the potty loo on our back deck and he goes right up to the slide door when he is ready to use it. He has used it consistently since the first night we brought it home for both #1 and #2, with very few indoor accidents since then. I actually bought these as litter-catching trays to go under the cat boxes. I have an old cat who sometimes misses and even when he doesn't, he has a habit of tracking litter everywhere. I've been looking for a large, flat shallow tray to go under the box and these are perfect. I bought the medium-sized tray. I ordered the 30 inch pan. It came in a box that says 27 inch pan. The problem is that the width is only 18 1/2 inches leaving at least 2 inches where it is too short for the crate. I am not sure how to make sure I get one to fit. My Midwest Kennels are in great shape but older. I am trying to find the right size to order. Have to have one at least 20 inches wide. Our 8 week old puppy took to this immediately. We live in a condo so we needed a solution to let our puppy ***** safely before she's fully vaccinated. There's no "Safe space" outside where we can take her that other dogs wouldn't have gone already. My 6 year old long-haired chihuahua Choco is pad trained, but we've been having this issue where he steps on his fresh *** and tracks it all over the apartment floor, making me mop the floor multiple times a day. *** pads also don't do a great job with odor control, so it was time to look for an alternative. We’ve been Doggie Lawn users since Fall 2019, so this review is LONG overdue. We live in a mid-rise in a large city and getting out via the freight elevator and around the block for a 2-second potty break isn’t always an appealing option, especially when it’s raining, sleeting, snowing or so windy it will rip the hat off your head. We trained our puppy to use his grass patch when he was young and haven’t looked back. We simply put him on the grass and would turn him around if he tried to wander off, repeatedly using the “go potty” command. He got the hang of it within three days. We have the XL delivered every 2 weeks for our mini poodle and it’s been a great upgrade from the L, which used to get a little stinky between changes in the hot months. Changing out the patches is a cinch because each box comes with plastic gloves and the new latch is rolled in a plastic bag you can dispose of your old lawn in. Perfect for what I needed them for! I use these for cat food and water under a counter. I have two side by side, one with the water dish and one with the dry food. They fit perfectly (rather than sticking out as my last trays did), so now we can walk normally in front of the counter without having to step over the trays. And I don't have to worry about the water dish over flowing, because I know that the water will be captured in the tray and not end up all over my new floor! I ordered a LARGE for my PUGGLE and he barely can fit on it. Definitely not even close to true to size. And since i've started using this the scent of urine has been obnoxious and potent and i clean it daily with pet lysol spray and hot water. The turf itself is okay quality, easy to clean and drains correctly. However, the middle draining tray is not designed at all to work at all. The urine just collects on top of the drain tray because the holes and bumps aren't in a functional area and it barely drains to the lower tray. It is made from a texture that soaks up the urine instead of allowing it to flow off and threw, therefore it collects oder, collects urine that won't wash/scrub off, it can't be cleaned properly and all that waste causes the material to break down. When I say break down, I mean in ever sense. It starts to break off in pieces. Every time I clean the product, more peices fall off and it gets smaller and smaller. Basically, this product does not work. I learned that I should stick with what works and not take chances of cheaper off brand products. Even though the size of my other potty unit is less portable, it actually works! When I washed it the first time the grasswas falling apart on the 2 I bought and the urine was seeping through both trays. I wanted to return them and since I had to find new shipping boxes since I through out the original box. I have since thrown both the tray and the grass. Our 8 week old puppy took to this immediately. We live in a condo so we needed a solution to let our puppy ***** safely before she's fully vaccinated. There's no "Safe space" outside where we can take her that other dogs wouldn't have gone already. I had no idea if it would be hard initially to get her used to it, but we plopped her down on it as soon as we brought her home and she went *** right away. We had to re-direct her a couple of times during the **** sniff, but after a few times she knew this was her ***** spot. Doesn't mean she was ***** trained that quickly 🙂 but she knew when we put her there that it was her spot to go. 3 weeks later, this is the best thing we could have done. Having to take a puppy out every 15-20 minutes living in a condo would have been a nightmare. We keep it on our patio which is fairly large, and I never smell anything. I've ordered a 2nd one to keep in my car so when I take her places (carrying her only ), I can stick her down on the "safe grass" so she doesn't have to hold it the entire time. I will probably keep one on our patio well beyond when I can take her outside also, for early morning and late night *****'s, until she's old enough not to go so frequently. We’ve been Doggie Lawn users since Fall 2019, so this review is LONG overdue. We live in a mid-rise in a large city and getting out via the freight elevator and around the block for a 2-second potty break isn’t always an appealing option, especially when it’s raining, sleeting, snowing or so windy it will rip the hat off your head. We trained our puppy to use his grass patch when he was young and haven’t looked back. We simply put him on the grass and would turn him around if he tried to wander off, repeatedly using the “go potty” command. He got the hang of it within three days. We have the XL delivered every 2 weeks for our mini poodle and it’s been a great upgrade from the L, which used to get a little stinky between changes in the hot months. Changing out the patches is a cinch because each box comes with plastic gloves and the new latch is rolled in a plastic bag you can dispose of your old lawn in.
