I received this a few weeks ago and tried putting it on my bike and there weren't any straps to strap it to my bike so I had to use straps, then I tried to put the dog in the bag to see how it worked and the leash adjustment broke. I contacted the company and STILL waiting for a respond on if I need to purchase the straps or if they were missed in packing and if a new harness strap can be sent to replace the busted one. This is similar to a more well known product of the same type that we had bought previously. In fact it's VERY similar but about $100 less. The external clips and buckles are strong and fasten quite easily. The internal lead clips look and felt very weak. We have changed them for quality clips from our local hardware store for a few bucks. Had to do the same with the branded carrier we bought as well so we were expecting it. The pet carrier can be attached to a rack or via some large straps over a sissy bar. Having both systems available was a definite bonus. Bought Pet Palace a couple of months ago and my little fella is very comfortable,protected from the elements ( cooler weather) and definitely happier than in his milk crate. Lots of storage for leads,food and water plus baggies. This product is a little larger than the original one so is extra roomy and water bottle carrier at least you can put at a bottle in it and not wasted space. Lots of venting for warmer weather. The Pet Palace is a little on pricey side but I feel my co-pilot is safe and secure. He weighs 11 lbs.Pleasure

I've been able to re-sew the zippers in a few cases but eventually they need replacement. Higher quality zippers would be nice; granted I use the bag every day so it gets a lot of use. Also, on this model the metal rod on one side eventually poked through the fabric and rubbed a hole in the fabric by the zipper. I repaired it and eventually shortened the metal rod a bit and repaired the hole it made so that it wouldn't poke through any more. If the metal support rod was bent at each end so that it followed the curve at the corner of the bag this might not happen and it might provide additional structure. Also I liked that the last model had two tether points on the inside of the bag (we travel with two tiny dogs). I riveted my own d-ring tether points on each corner of this one (like the old model) to give myself more flexibility. Other than that, it's a great bag.Jess
They tout a "rigid internal frame", but calling it "rigid" is being generous. It's about as rigid as a plastic soda bottle so it will hold its shape, but it will also deform when strapped down, when your 20lb beagle mix leans out of it, etc. It is not a roll cage, so don't expect it to offer any sort of safety should you get into a bad accident, but really none of these things will so that's something you just understand when opting to take your dog with you on a bike. Also keep in mind that it's an echo chamber inside. A heavy blanket really dampens the sound, and seemed to satisfy my sensitive girl. All that being said, it's probably the best option on the market, especially for anything larger than a toy breed. The vents and pockets are nice. The attachment points are helpful and the included straps should be adequate, but I replaced them with something stronger. The size is about as big as I could fit on a DR650 between a tail box and myself. Not perfect, but no regrets.Matthew

I was a little skeptical about how this would work, but it turned out to be a great purchase! I started out training our small dog to sit inside with the top flap unzipped. I fed him a treat and then released him after a few minutes. Within a few days, he was asking to be put in . Then we started short trips around the house, wheeling it like a suitcase and slipping him a treat and praise every few minutes.he caught on right away and liked how cozy and secure he felt. The only improvement to be made is that when the weather is cold or wet, the lower mesh secrions allow moisture in, splash up from the wheels. I cut the end off a stretchy flannel pillowcase, and pulled it over the whole bag, rolling down the top part so my dog could could see out , but covering the lower half . This worked great! Our dog loves traveling with us, and this is a safe, secure way to take him from car to hotel, crowded areas where he might get stepped on, or new situationscwhen hes nervous. We love it!JayD63

Our miniature schnauzer has never liked wearing anything other than her collar, so I was worried that she wouldn't like being strapped into a backpack. To help warm her up to it, we set it down on the floor, and put treats in random parts of the pack. We did that for about 24 hours before ever trying to get her inside it. When we finally did, she was a bit confused at first (after all, she thought it was just a treat dispenser!), but once I put it on and started rolling down the street on a bicycle with her, she absolutely loved it! She pretty much just sniffs at the air the whole time, much like when we drive in a car with the window down. She hardly ever squirms, so I think she feels comfortable. Now that she's had the bicycling experience, if I start to roll the bike without her, she cries with that "don't leave without me!" sound! Now that we've had the Knavigate for about a month, her disposition toward the pack is much like toward her harness – she still doesn't _love_ the process of putting it on, but she tolerates it because she knows she's going to love what's on the other side. Fits well on my 300f. Took some figuring out of how to fit the strapping base under the seat cowl since it's just a small. Hero is 18lbs and fits just fine would recommend pairing it with eye protectors when riding. Lots of pockets, but the downfall is that all the pockets also have mesh to allow greater airflow. We purchased this for our 15 lb. Pumi last year. He rode over 20k miles and loved it. However the bag has faded so badly it looks 10 years old. We never leave it outside. The top has broken down horribly and the "fur liner" disappeared somewhere around 10k miles. If you are a casual rider this is an excellent bag. It sat level on my tour pack rack (unlike the pet palace). It is VERY stable and all of the straps still look brand new, never any issues with them rubbing paint regardless of where I attach it. I have a pretty picky kitty when it comes to carriers. He does not like hard plastic or metal bars. I got this Sherpa® Travel Original Deluxe™ Airline Approved Pet Carrier for up to 22 pounds to try and see if he liked it. I use it mainly for trips to the vet or visiting friends. It comes folded up (so you can store it under a bed easily) but is easy to fold out and put together. It comes with a stability board and faux lambswool liner that easily attach to the bottom with hook and loop strips. Also included is a shoulder strap. It has two openings: one of the top and one at the end. Both has zippers that lock. So kitty cannot escape. The is one small pocket on the back that could hold papers, or small toys or treats. Mesh sides provide plenty of light and air so kitty does not feel contained. I left my carrier out on the floor for him to investigate. He eventually went in and lay down. I did a test run just over to a friends house in my car. The carrier fit easily on my backseat. I was able to loop the shoulder strap over the headrest and also put the seat belt through the luggage band located on the rear side of the carrier. Kitty rode safely and for the most part, happy. He lay down and did not repeatedly circle. I love that the liner comes and out and is washable and that the entire carrier is washable. I love that the carrier is lightweight as Kitty weighs almost 20 pounds. I love that this carrier can be wedged into tighter spaces as it has a flexible frame.daisymae9624
I initially really liked this product. Its lightweight easy to carry. I kept it in my cat's comfort zone so he wouldn't be intimidated by it and he enjoyed laying in it and he relaxed quietly when being carried around. However it only took one 15 minute ride to the vet before this 11mo old cat became nervous and ripped it open at the seam. The hole was big enough to stick its head through and would have only gotten larger it I wasn't holding it shut (while driving). The product was listed for pets up to 16 pounds and my cat was not that big. The product does promote a 1 year warranty, however fine print states ***Worldwise will not accept the return of a bag that has carried an animal (yes you read that correct). SHERPA warranty covers manufacturing defects only. Pet damage of any kind is NOT covered under warrant. I purchased two of these Original Sherpa bags over 20 years ago and have used them until just recently. My kitty passed away and i just got two new kittens, so decided to buy two more of these bags new and donate the old originals, although there was nothing at all wrong with them. They held up all these years without even a rip or tear, even being shoved underneath airplane seats for years! HOWEVER, I wish I did not get rid of them. The new ones I just purchased do NOT by any means measure up to the old ones unfortunately. The saying holds true, that they don’t make things like they used to! The quality of this bag has gone way downhill since the ones I purchased many years ago! I cannot see these lasting anywhere near as long as my old ones. They are making them very cheaply now, and they did away with the extra compartment that was in between the back zippered one and the bag. There was another wide compartment about one inch wide, which was so convenient. I used to put my kitties food, dishes, and treats in there. It was perfect for travel! They unfortunately omitted that compartment now. The old ones also came with the luggage tag attached which identifies your pets name, owners name, and contact information. This is Samson’s 2nd Snoozer. The first one was purchased 6 years ago and got plenty of use. I use it as a car seat, a wheeled carrier, an under the seat bed when flying and a backpack when he gets tired hiking. I bought the medium sized carrier for my 20 year old 19 pound Siamese cat. Other reviews said that the medium sized carrier was acceptable by most airlines and I needed it for our trips to Florida on Frontier Airlines. It is a tight fit but it does fit under the middle seat. Did not try the aisle or window. The main complaint that I have is the difficulty of access. There is a metal bar that separates a zippered lower opening and a zippered upper opening. It appears that the bar is used for stability, which is fine, but it greatly reduces the accessibility to your pet when you have to take them out for the TSA inspection at a crowed airport security checkpoint. It is very convenient to carry my dog in a backpack while going through security. Then pulling up the handle and being able to roll her to my gate. I have a 7 lb chihuahua and I bought her the medium carrier. She is a little longer in the body than the average chihuahua. She fits beautifully and has plenty of room to move and lay down in both the upright position and when the carrier is laying down. I would definitely suggest you put in a soft blanket because there is no cushioning, I also went and bought a soft waterproof material and velcroed it on the Part of the carrier that she would lay on under the seat. With the small I have never been questioned from anyone about the dimensions when checking in and I have flown southwest, jetblue, frontier, delta. With the large I have flown southwest, delta, and American. I love this bag although I don't think my dog feels the same way. I just wish I had gotten a smaller size. Fluffy first sniffed at it, then he (drama queen) was upset at me for something and went in and refused to budge. Later he came out all warm and toasty, so it is his fav hang out, even tho it tips. I think he tips it on purpose. Easy to put together, just zips together! Looks kinda like a big hat box from the 60's. He tried to unzip it, clever boy, but not this one. Two openings, so if he's drama queening it up I can just open the top and pop him in, he can stand up in it, lay down, curl up, stretch out. He loves the Thinsilate insulation, but this is only for winter, Thinsilate keeps stuff warm better than cool. He has a fully ventilated summer backpack/roller. I haven't tried the method described for car travel yet. His only complaint was after I put the rollers on the bottom was hard and lumpy, started to take off like that and my drama queen howled until I put a folded throw and sham to break the hardness, a small pillow would do the same. I buy the $2.50 throws out of the bin and put them into a couple of shams that don't match anything. The pet carrier is not a crate, it is pretty delicate compared to the hard-sided pet crates. With respect and care I expect this to last several years.
I purchased this for my 10 lb puppy. She had plenty of room to stand, turn, and stretch while inside. Even better, I think it will still be a good size when she is full grown at 15-17 lbs. I took this on a long roundtrip journey involving several train changes, a bus ride, and Ubers. It is very lightweight and functions well both when rolled or carried by the shoulder strap. It is by far the best I've seen (this is the 4th pet carrier I ordered in search of the perfect one) in terms of design and material quality. The only problem is the strap inside the case, the one that can be clipped to a pet collar, was already coming loose before we even used it once. Then halfway through the trip, one of the zipper pullers on the top flap came right off the zipper tracks, followed by the 2nd puller a few days later even though I tried to be extra gentle. Now the whole top flap is coming unsewn. But I love this case so much I have ordered another, hoping the sewing quality was just a fluke. If the 2nd one holds ups, I will give it 5 stars.Pug Lover
