I have a pretty picky kitty when it comes to carriers. He does not like hard plastic or metal bars. I got this Sherpa® Travel Original Deluxe™ Airline Approved Pet Carrier for up to 22 pounds to try and see if he liked it. I use it mainly for trips to the vet or visiting friends. It comes folded up (so you can store it under a bed easily) but is easy to fold out and put together. It comes with a stability board and faux lambswool liner that easily attach to the bottom with hook and loop strips. Also included is a shoulder strap. It has two openings: one of the top and one at the end. Both has zippers that lock. So kitty cannot escape. The is one small pocket on the back that could hold papers, or small toys or treats. Mesh sides provide plenty of light and air so kitty does not feel contained. I left my carrier out on the floor for him to investigate. He eventually went in and lay down. I did a test run just over to a friends house in my car. The carrier fit easily on my backseat. I was able to loop the shoulder strap over the headrest and also put the seat belt through the luggage band located on the rear side of the carrier. Kitty rode safely and for the most part, happy. He lay down and did not repeatedly circle. I love that the liner comes and out and is washable and that the entire carrier is washable. I love that the carrier is lightweight as Kitty weighs almost 20 pounds. I love that this carrier can be wedged into tighter spaces as it has a flexible frame.daisymae9624
I initially really liked this product. Its lightweight easy to carry. I kept it in my cat's comfort zone so he wouldn't be intimidated by it and he enjoyed laying in it and he relaxed quietly when being carried around. However it only took one 15 minute ride to the vet before this 11mo old cat became nervous and ripped it open at the seam. The hole was big enough to stick its head through and would have only gotten larger it I wasn't holding it shut (while driving). The product was listed for pets up to 16 pounds and my cat was not that big. The product does promote a 1 year warranty, however fine print states ***Worldwise will not accept the return of a bag that has carried an animal (yes you read that correct). SHERPA warranty covers manufacturing defects only. Pet damage of any kind is NOT covered under warrant. I purchased two of these Original Sherpa bags over 20 years ago and have used them until just recently. My kitty passed away and i just got two new kittens, so decided to buy two more of these bags new and donate the old originals, although there was nothing at all wrong with them. Just thought it was time to buy new. The old ones lasted many years of traveling every month on planes, in cars, hotels, and definitely got more use than the average pet I’m sure! They held up all these years without even a rip or tear, even being shoved underneath airplane seats for years! HOWEVER, I wish I did not get rid of them. The new ones I just purchased do NOT by any means measure up to the old ones unfortunately. The saying holds true, that they don’t make things like they used to! The quality of this bag has gone way downhill since the ones I purchased many years ago! I cannot see these lasting anywhere near as long as my old ones. They are making them very cheaply now, and they did away with the extra compartment that was in between the back zippered one and the bag. There was another wide compartment about one inch wide, which was so convenient. I used to put my kitties food, dishes, and treats in there. It was perfect for travel! They unfortunately omitted that compartment now. The old ones also came with the luggage tag attached which identifies your pets name, owners name, and contact information. I got this for a ~60lbs. labrador retriever and he seems to love it. Big enough on the inside for him to stand, turn around, and lay comfortably. It's sturdy, but not so heavy that it doesn't move around a little bit when he changes positions. It was easy enough to put together. A couple of the plastic screws didn't seem to have the ends filed off all the way (hard to describe but basically instead of a flat end, the plastic stuck out a little extra on one side instead of being flat across), which made them harder to fit straight through the holes in assembly. Fortunately, they send a few extra, so I had enough that were straight enough to put the crate together. Also, just be aware of the plastic bottom – I ran my hand across the bottom to clean it before putting it together and scraped my hand on a piece of plastic that stuck up a little (it was like a little ring manufacturing imprint). I filed it down before letting my dog in so he wouldn't get scraped on it, but just something to be on the look out for.Labbadabbadoo
The sizing recommendation by the manufacturer seems to be off. Dimensions are not the actual dimensions if you were to take a measuring tape and measure yourself. For my 55 lb border collie mix who sits at 27 inches tall and stands at 37 inches long from nose to base of tail a large would not fit. I ordered the XX Large and that is a way better fit where she can actually sit without being hunched over. This was purchased for air travel as well so I want her to be as comfortable as possible. The material seems relatively durable but it did arrive with a large crack so I will be exchanging. Compared to the Petmate Sky Kennel, this kennel seemed a little bit thinner in material and not as study. However, I order a Sky Kennel in a size Large so perhaps a sizing difference might have affected this. Also, currently, the Sky Kennel is available for a better price on Amazon but not in the size I am looking for.Zozobozo

Most of all, our dog took to it the first time. We had the S, same company. Uma is getting big now. Of course, we chose the same company and same product, just L in size. When a puppy, accidents do happen. It is easy to clean. Uma is about 20lbs now and can stand up in the kennel. Still plenty of height room. She may become 30-40lbs and this kennel will be all we need. Our use is for nighttime and when we go out. We have the gray which does not stand out. I was a little skeptical about how this would work, but it turned out to be a great purchase! I started out training our small dog to sit inside with the top flap unzipped. I fed him a treat and then released him after a few minutes. Within a few days, he was asking to be put in . Then we started short trips around the house, wheeling it like a suitcase and slipping him a treat and praise every few minutes.he caught on right away and liked how cozy and secure he felt. The only improvement to be made is that when the weather is cold or wet, the lower mesh secrions allow moisture in, splash up from the wheels. I cut the end off a stretchy flannel pillowcase, and pulled it over the whole bag, rolling down the top part so my dog could could see out , but covering the lower half . This worked great! I bought this last fall to travel to Europe and Central America with my cat. When I received it, the new plastic or synthetic fabric smell was too much for me and definitely too much for my cat. I called the manufacturer and they told me to spray it with air freshener. I did and left it sitting open for a few weeks. Once I used it, the smell went away. At one point my cat did pee in it. I hand washed it, but couldn't get the urine smell out. Once I put it in the washer it came out smelling clean. I do love the bag, but if you're getting one, get it ahead of time. There is plenty of space for a cat to move and turn around. It's a great shape that fits under the seat. Perfect for any travel. The only down side is that it's heavy. After 8 years travel, we wore out Claire. International Business Dog last pet carrier bag (different brand) and no longer available. This carrier wont get airline test until Christmas. have used a few times for going to groomer. appears to be a very well made carrier. It is big. I would love for it to be 16" instead of 18'' and leave the height where it is. My dog is almost 9" tall but he only weighs 4 lbs. Everyone says there carriers fit under seat in front but almost none show u with a video. With video i would have spent a lot less time searching for a carrier. top of each end of carrier folds nicely inward and down to achieve lower height needed to fit under airline seat. shoulder strap does not stay on shoulder. I have gotten three of these pet carriers one for my cat, he's a medium size Himalayan and two for my Dad's 2 cats both Scottish Folds, the boy is a fairly large cat and the girl is a super small cat. These Delta carries all work perfectly for them. A good amount of room, No cramped spaces. The plush mat at the bottom is sturdy and comfortable for them and is easy to clean, though I like to put a blanket or towel down over the mats for added comfort and cleanliness. The zippers are the really strong and secure kind that come on a lot of high-end purses and suitcases. There's an ID tag that's a nice size it's large enough for their ID cards to be seen clearly through clear plastic slots and is secured with belt buckle clasp. The pocket on the Front is a zip pocket that's good for holding small items like pet meds, ETC. Where as the BACK pocket is more of an easy slip pocket for holding Travel papers or in my case their paperwork from the Vets office. I Never worry that the carriers going to brake or rip or anything. The handles have a nice secure grip to them and can be easily velcroed together, but take some effort to undo, so you know it's good quality. The carriers are sewn with strong tight stitches No pulls and No loose ends. The "mesh" is a thick, thick tightly woven plastic that Doesn't brake. Perfect for American Airlines domestic flights. Fits my fat 16 lb cat easily and comforatbly. I minded other reviews and purchased twist ties to secure all zippers that they do not open if pushed on. Bought this to transport my cat to/from the vet, will possibly use this for travel in the future as well. It's so much easier to carry than the hard carrier I previously used. My cat had more space than I thought he would inside to move around (he's 14lbs) and he seemed comfortable. The padded bottom liner can be removed for cleaning, and the zip closures keep him from getting out whenever he wants – the last soft carrier I got had a velcro closure at the top on one end and he had zero issues letting himself out. The shoulder strap is kind of a weird length – I had to do a lot of adjusting to get the shoulder support in the right place, but it was fine once I did.citycat224

flying my 2 kitties cargo was an ordeal that i absolutely DO NOT EVER want to go through again.(im sure it wasnt even that bad for them, but it was terrible for me!) ultimately though, it had to be done. ive never shipped/flown a pet before so this all began with a search for a crate. petmate skykennel was the obvious choice. even though they're cats, my boys are big fellas. i went with the medium size so they'd have extra room. the crates were exactly what i needed. only thing i will say is, i did order an extra set of all-metal bolts/fasteners (from amazon); the ones that come with the crates are ok, but the overruling word on pet cargo travel seems to be all-metal is required. maybe its just required for international flights? either way i ordered a set. glad i bought ONLY that from amazon, though!i was about to buy the crates from there too, then i thought hmmm maybe someplace else had them at a better price…and yep… "someplace else" sure did! I did a lot of research before we decided to by the extra large Petmate dog crate. We currently have the "Giant" dog crate in a bedroom for our mixed malamute–but we have to disassemble it to take it out of the room. We need the dog crate for when we take our dog camping. The last time we took him camping, on the last day, we left him in our cabin for a few hours. When we came back, he had tore the curtain and blinds apart on two different windows. We spent hours trying to get new blinds and I had to sew the curtains. So, this crate in mandatory if our dog is going camping again! We currently have a fifth wheel trailer that we camp in. Also, the metal dog crates–our dog can get right out of them using his body!Diane
While certainly not inexpensive, it far outprices the alternative for a crate that meets all the requirements for airline travel for my German Shepherd. Years ago I also used to travel with my Dalmatian and I used the Petmate Sky Kennel then. Both dogs felt comfortable in the kennel at home and so having to step into it to be loaded on a plane was not a struggle. The only negative is the food/water tray. It's for a rabbit, not a 90 pound German Shepherd, but that's any easy fix for me, but the manufacturer should reconsider.

This is a well built, high quality soft sided and airline approved kennel! We used it to fly Delta with my 18 pound male tabby. Delta put us in an aisle seat due to the space under the seat in front of you is higher allowing for a bigger kennel. He had room to turn around and was comfortable for the 3.5 hour flight (talk to your vet about sedation meds, they helped our very nervous guy relax)! The floor pad of the kennel is removable in case of accidents. Inside of the bottom is also reenforced with a wooden board for added strength as well as comfort so the pets are carried evenly. Mr. Peanut's company takes the time to think about the comfort of your pet and it shows in their product. Will definitely buy again if needed but it seems like this one will last us a while!Sara K.

I am so pleased with this pet crate! I got the Large for my 2 lil dogs to ride in our new car and not get hair all over or on our newborn while on trips to Phoenix! This is great! It fit perfectly in the backseat with the carseat! I love how it isnt super structured so that it forms to the seats! Also the flaps on the sides are extra hair control! My dogs fit perfectly! If this were two inches wider, or even one inch wider, I would have given it a 5 star review (the medium size would have been too big…). My 10-lb dog likes to sleep on top of her crate and this one is *much* better constructed than any other soft-sided crate I've tried – the tubular construction is sturdy and seems well-suited for repeated jumping-on-top. The inside, while a little tight, even for a small dog, seems comfortable enough for her. She usually scratches the liner pads to pieces quickly, but isn't doing that with this one. Overall, a good value and a well-made crate.

This is Samson’s 2nd Snoozer. The first one was purchased 6 years ago and got plenty of use. I use it as a car seat, a wheeled carrier, an under the seat bed when flying and a backpack when he gets tired hiking. I bought the medium sized carrier for my 20 year old 19 pound Siamese cat. Other reviews said that the medium sized carrier was acceptable by most airlines and I needed it for our trips to Florida on Frontier Airlines. It is a tight fit but it does fit under the middle seat. Did not try the aisle or window. The main complaint that I have is the difficulty of access. There is a metal bar that separates a zippered lower opening and a zippered upper opening. It appears that the bar is used for stability, which is fine, but it greatly reduces the accessibility to your pet when you have to take them out for the TSA inspection at a crowed airport security checkpoint. It is very convenient to carry my dog in a backpack while going through security. Then pulling up the handle and being able to roll her to my gate. I have a 7 lb chihuahua and I bought her the medium carrier. She is a little longer in the body than the average chihuahua. She fits beautifully and has plenty of room to move and lay down in both the upright position and when the carrier is laying down. I would definitely suggest you put in a soft blanket because there is no cushioning, I also went and bought a soft waterproof material and velcroed it on the Part of the carrier that she would lay on under the seat. I bought this last fall to travel to Europe and Central America with my cat. When I received it, the new plastic or synthetic fabric smell was too much for me and definitely too much for my cat. I called the manufacturer and they told me to spray it with air freshener. I did and left it sitting open for a few weeks. Once I used it, the smell went away. At one point my cat did pee in it. I hand washed it, but couldn't get the urine smell out. Once I put it in the washer it came out smelling clean. I do love the bag, but if you're getting one, get it ahead of time. There is plenty of space for a cat to move and turn around. It's a great shape that fits under the seat. Perfect for any travel. The only down side is that it's heavy. Make sure your pets doesn't exceed 10 lbs if you want to take it in cabin. You may be refused boarding.Sacha A.

This is a very large kennel. It's perfect for a German Shepherd, Husky, Lab size dog etc. Very easy to assemble. The door works flawlessly. I got this because I have 2 senior dogs a Retriever and a Collie mix and needed something to secure them in the back of my suv when taking them to the vet or groomer. I found that it is much safer to transport them this way than to let them be on the back seat unsecured. I finally have the right size kennel to do so. This is a perfect kennel for dogs like labs/retrievers. There's enough room for most dogs that size to stand up. I do wish these kinds of kennels had a few extra slots on the bottom so it wasn't quite so dark. It's very easy to put together. Wow this is exactly what I needed for my favorite fur baby on the planet. It was so easy to put together by myself without any issues. It’s thick sturdy plastic that will last years even decades. My doggy loves to get in and lay down even when we’re not traveling. I am extremely pleased with how handy the Mobile Dog Gear Week Away Bag is. Even though mine is a small size, it is plenty big for a larger dog and is actually the perfect size for our 4 month old Golden Retriever. The collapsible bowls are high quality and plenty large enough for a full meal for a large dog at 2 cups. The storage containers also hold 5 cups of food! The bag is lined and insulated and was able to keep our high value chicken training treats cool with a single ice pack. Very easy to carry with the short or long handle. Very well made. If I had one suggestion, it would be to include a water bottle. Luckily we had a good reusable bottle, but that would be a nice addition.
First of all, this bag is cute! The ID tag is bone-shaped and the fabric inside has a paw print pattern. Secondly, it's functional as well. The food bags easily held enough food for one week away with my large dog. The collapsible dishes are easy to clean. And the placemat came in handy. The only reason I couldn't give 5 stars is because it is a bit flimsy and won't hold up well over time. But if you only use it every once in a while- it will serve it's purpose well.Dani

I tried a couple different styles of packs to carry my Shichon dog Louie with me on my motorcycle. I never felt really comfortable till I found your site. He loves it! He gets all excited when he sees me grabbing it and makes it easy for me to get him in it. We travel all over the place. My husband and I go on some longer rides, so we stop, let him stretch his legs, relieve himself and he is ready to hit the road again.
