I bought this for my dog for a backpacking trip. It is small and lightweight. I inflated it by blowing into the "inflate" hole and made sure it was sealed. Within an hour it was mostly deflated. For the remainder of the week it served as a nice soft suggestion for where my dog should sleep. I inflated it every night and every morning it was completely flat.kate
Purchased so that my 100 pound Akita would quit stealing our Static V’s from us while we were sleeping. The bed is a more durable material than the Static V Insulated and he hasn’t managed to puncture it with his claws. The cover is durable and feels comfortable. The size is just large enough for his 100 pound frame, he hangs off of it when he stretches out but fits nicely when he’s curled up. Although I haven’t slept on it the dog says that it’s comfortable and he prefers it to sleeping on the hard ground. I have a 40 lbs border collie mix. The medium bed is just a little smaller/ thinner than I was hoping for, but I think it will work for camping. My dog will lay on the ground, but she will usually try to squeeze onto my sleeping pad with me as the night progresses. Others have mentioned the soft cover is just a tad too small for the bed when the dog bed is inflated. When inflated and with or without the cover, the bed makes the loud ‘crunch’ sound that many inflated pads make when my dog lays on it or moves around on it. I set it up in the bedroom to introduce my dog to it. She is a bit timid and hasn’t warmed up to it yet. I haven’t seen her lay on it except when I tell her to go lay on it. I love these dog beds! First of all, I have a 15+ year old border collie/blue heeler. She was an avid frisbee dog and has a host of aches and pains. I bought 2 of these beds! The small and the larger. Let me first say this: Zero things are indestructible. If your pet is chewing things up, you’re not doing right by him/her. Its called training and plenty of it. Don’t write a bad review about a great product because you didn’t do your part. I’ve had two male littermates since 8 weeks old and persistence in training is key!! If you want to keep your pups from harm and save all the things you’ve spent your hard earned money on, put in the work! They are not going to train themselves. Now for my review: This bed is hands-down one of the best I have ever encountered. The construction is tough and very well put together. It’s a decent canvas with double stitching. You can unzip the bottom and take out the contents which are in a lined fiber tube full of poly fill. And plenty of it! The bed cleans up nicely in the washer/dryer and is very simple to re-assemble. The bed is well made, washable and durable. But it stays "inflated" to the point that my dog is afraid to step on it. The inner filling creates an air pocket and the solution to making the air pocket deflate is to leave the zipper open and push out the air. But as soon as I zip it back up, the air pocket is there again. Not sure the answer but my big dog doesn't like the instability or wobble created by displacing the air pocket. Our puppy loves her waterproof round dog bed! At first, I was worried because she dug at it repeatedly. I thought she was going to ruin it quickly. Nope! It's find and she eventually stopped the digging. You can see some of her nail marks but maybe those will disappear when washed. If they don't, it's fine—I was just thrilled there was no hole from her! She naps on it daily on our breezeway and I don't need to worry about it getting moldy when it gets rained on. Helinox is an incredible brand. Their products really are the best engineered, highest quality products on the market. This is probably a 5 star item based on quality, but I was disappointed that the long poles don't break down, making this longer than any of my Helinox human cots, which makes packing a bit more complicated. I bought the elevated dog caught for our family dog because it gets extremely hot where we live and after a walk in the evening Roscoe is extremely hot and he’s desperately trying to find a way to cool down. So I purchased the cot in order for him to lay on it to have air flowing under him to cool. When I assembled it and put it in the family room, he immediately went and laid on it understanding that it was for him. It was humorous to see that he immediately personalized it by dragging his blankets onto it to give it his scent as well as him rolling around on it, once he figured out how to get comfortable on it it was nice to see that he used it regularly. It’s extremely well-made and the cot portion and durable aluminum legs are typical Helinox quality and I believe dog claws will have no effect on it. I also love that it can be taken apart easily and taken with you to go camping or other places where you need a way to elevate your dog to be off the hot ground or the cold ground. It is also very stable the way the feet are designed and at no point have I ever seen a tip over. I appreciate that Helinox also cares about our pets safety and comfort.James C.

We love these pads, have had two of them for years now and they're still going strong. I have them doubled up on the back of my suv which prevents dog hair and sand from getting to my seats. We use them in between us in our tent while we're camping. When we throw them down around a campfire or wherever, the dogs immediately know that's their spot and lie down, especially when they're tired. The bottom material is super durable and the top, while fairly soft, is also rugged and can easily be shook out or even hosed off. There isn't much paddling in the middle, so it won't provide a ton of R value on cold nights. The lack of thick foam does mean they roll up quite small and dry out fast. Otherwise if you happen to leave it out and it got wet, thick foam would take forever to dry. A very utilitarian pad, I highly recommend!Jason

I have 4 of these beds that see daily use. I use 2 of them as crate mats for 55# German Shepherd mixes. The other 2 are on a tile floor in my office. They are great for pets that don't chew and don't need an orthopedic bed. The beds are washed weekly (2 at a time) on medium washer setting and dried on medium dryer heat for 1 hour. All the beds are over 2 years old and only one has a small tear on the blue bottom layer. It would be easy to mend but since it hasn't gotten any larger (and I am lazy) I have not done it.hollekw

These beds are very unstable and my 3 dogs will not get on them at all. They just lie down next to them. I have tried everything to coax them onto these beds without success. Each one got on the beds once the day they arrived, the beds moved and wobbled, the dogs leaped off, and none has been willing to try again since. Now I have two folding beds that are essentially useless. Good concept, but the design definitely needs work. Perhaps if the folding mechanism had a lock of some sort to prevent it from folding up when a dog jumps on it would be more stable? I cannot recommend these.drlynn58

The quality of this product, hands down, is some of the best out there. The bed has excellent loft for a heavy duty travel bed, wipes clean, and quickly rolls up into a manageable size. The rubberized bottom holds the mat securely in place. The size is perfect for our cattle dog and our border collie, but I can certainly see folks wanting to buy a larger size mat for larger dogs. We always bring travel mats if the girls visit friends' homes with us. That said, there are a couple improvements I would like to see: 1. It would be nice if there was such a thing as a mostly waterproof brushed surface. This particular bed is too slippery for use in the car and every time my husband drives around a corner, the dogs have to dig their claws in (we put travel beds on top of the Kurgo hammocks so each girl knows her space..). 2. The buckles / loops for the Velcro, while effective, create a bump under the cushion. A reinforced Cordura sort of loop might work better.Boomer
This bed is extremely well made, GREAT cool red color. It is easy to fold into a small roll and has a great carrying handle. I love the slip-proof material on the underside. At first our dog was hesitant about laying on the fabric- he only knows fleece or shearling- but then he got used to it and now loves to lay on it by the front door and watch the neighborhood. Our weather has not permitted outdoor use yet. My only complaint is that it only come in a size medium, which is way too small for our 64 lb Lab puppy. It would not be functional for us. Hopefully they will come out with larger sizes.Shelley
I purchased the medium loft wander bed several years ago, and this bed has never let me down. I use it mainly for overnight trips and dog training, giving my pups designated rest zone in busy areas. The picture angles are a little funny, making it look a bit too small for my pups. However, my 75 pound lab can fit his body and elbows making it a perfect size travel bed. I did have to make one tiny repair to the seam between the liner and the main top, but with how much I use/wash it any other bed would be toast by now. This bed is worth the money!Frierborn49

This is a great product for outdoor adventures! Now my dog has her own sleeping space when we go camping. It comes in a nice sleeve/case with handle for easy carrying and the material feels relatively sturdy. The zipper feels strong. I got the small/medium and even my 35lb Border Collie mix was able to comfortably curl up inside (although there wasn't much extra room). The one issue I had is that the first time zipping it up, the zipper got caught on the inner flap and it was very difficult to get it free.Sarah
My husband and I recently went camping with our dog and the nighttime temps were in the low 30s. Despite having a down jacket on and being snuggled up next to the campfire, my poor pup was shivering all evening, so I was suuuper glad to have had this sleeping bag on hand. Of course I forgot to take any photos of us in the tent, but I was letting her bag air out on our balcony and she hopped back right in, so I think it's safe to say she loves it. My $0.02 on the Pros/Cons: Pros: = I know the reflective side is for warmth, but I liked how it made the bag even more visible in low light – this was especially helpful in the middle of the night. = The bag unzips on two sides so it can be opened up all the way to become a pretty decent sized pad or blanket (see photo 2). The zip closure has a protective fabric tab to keep from snagging on doggie fur (see photo 3). Cons: = The handle on the stuff sack is on the side, instead of the bottom of the bag. I don't really get the handle placement since every sleeping back stuff sack I've ever owned has the handle on the bottom to help with pulling the bag out of the stuff sack. This was just a minor inconvenience though. Also, you can't just push the sleeping bag into the stuff sack, the bag has to be rolled up. = I have only had this item for a few weeks and can't speak to its longevity. Other considerations: = I got the Small/Medium size and it was plenty spacious for my 30lb terrier. = This bag is a bit bulky and would best be used for car camping or daytrips.Cynthia
I like how this Backcountry X Petco line has a lot of products to get your pet ready for your next outdoor adventure. Colors are bright and fun. I got to try the pet sleeping bag in size S/M. Size works perfect for my medium sized dog (~21lbs), with some room to spare. At first I thought I should get it in L/XL just in case, but I’m glad I got the S/M instead. When we tried it at home my dog didn’t want to enter inside the sleeping bag, but it works just fine as a sleeping mat as well – you can even unzip the bag and make it an oversized sleeping mat. The thermal inside will keep your pet warm if needed, and the padded exterior will provide a cozy surface for your pet to chill out during the day or when it’s warm. And I love that everything can be packed back in a small bag so we can pack light. Now I need to get the rest of the camping gear ready so we can explore the outdoors.thecheapsubscriber

These do not have very much padding. My 4 rescue pups do not care for them. I have to flip them over or they won't lay on them. They have gotten stuck in the sleeping bag type pocket and it scared them to death. They don't clean up as well as they should either. Now I do take special needs pups so there can be accidents. I bought 4 of these and I am down to 1 because they do not clean up well. I do not recommend these, especially for older pups.Kelk9rscr

My dog LOVES this bed. He's a 22 lb chihuahua/terrier mix and I got the XLarge so he would have a little extra room to stretch out. The size is perfect. The cushion that comes with it is a little bit thin, so I got an extra 30" round fluffy cushion to put on top of it. I bought this for my dog for a backpacking trip. It is small and lightweight. I inflated it by blowing into the "inflate" hole and made sure it was sealed. Within an hour it was mostly deflated. For the remainder of the week it served as a nice soft suggestion for where my dog should sleep. I inflated it every night and every morning it was completely flat.kate
I have a 40 lbs border collie mix. The medium bed is just a little smaller/ thinner than I was hoping for, but I think it will work for camping. My dog will lay on the ground, but she will usually try to squeeze onto my sleeping pad with me as the night progresses. Others have mentioned the soft cover is just a tad too small for the bed when the dog bed is inflated. When inflated and with or without the cover, the bed makes the loud ‘crunch’ sound that many inflated pads make when my dog lays on it or moves around on it. I set it up in the bedroom to introduce my dog to it. She is a bit timid and hasn’t warmed up to it yet. I haven’t seen her lay on it except when I tell her to go lay on it. I’ve sat on it after blowing it up and it is ok/ fine. Should give her just barely enough height to keep her off the hard ground for the night.Joseph
