Our 8 week old puppy took to this immediately. We live in a condo so we needed a solution to let our puppy ***** safely before she's fully vaccinated. There's no "Safe space" outside where we can take her that other dogs wouldn't have gone already. I had no idea if it would be hard initially to get her used to it, but we plopped her down on it as soon as we brought her home and she went *** right away. We had to re-direct her a couple of times during the **** sniff, but after a few times she knew this was her ***** spot. Doesn't mean she was ***** trained that quickly 🙂 but she knew when we put her there that it was her spot to go. 3 weeks later, this is the best thing we could have done. Having to take a puppy out every 15-20 minutes living in a condo would have been a nightmare. We keep it on our patio which is fairly large, and I never smell anything. I've ordered a 2nd one to keep in my car so when I take her places (carrying her only ), I can stick her down on the "safe grass" so she doesn't have to hold it the entire time. I will probably keep one on our patio well beyond when I can take her outside also, for early morning and late night *****'s, until she's old enough not to go so frequently. The product is basically as it is described. My puppy is a little rambunctious, so she wouldn't stop pulling them around and trying to eat the grass off. She is 4 months old and very energetic. She was initially trained on potty pads, but we were looking for a segue into training her to go outside. It didn't really work for us. I ordered a LARGE for my PUGGLE and he barely can fit on it. Definitely not even close to true to size. And since i've started using this the scent of urine has been obnoxious and potent and i clean it daily with pet lysol spray and hot water. This is a purchase that I can conclude as a lesson learnt. I purchased this product because it was smaller than my other pet unit which allowed it for portability when traveling. The turf itself is okay quality, easy to clean and drains correctly. However, the middle draining tray is not designed at all to work at all. The urine just collects on top of the drain tray because the holes and bumps aren't in a functional area and it barely drains to the lower tray. It is made from a texture that soaks up the urine instead of allowing it to flow off and threw, therefore it collects oder, collects urine that won't wash/scrub off, it can't be cleaned properly and all that waste causes the material to break down. When I say break down, I mean in ever sense. It starts to break off in pieces. Every time I clean the product, more peices fall off and it gets smaller and smaller. Basically, this product does not work. I learned that I should stick with what works and not take chances of cheaper off brand products. Even though the size of my other potty unit is less portable, it actually works! OMG!!! What a life saver! The package comes well packed and always delivered on time. I get the XLarge because I have two shih tzus and they can both walk around and use it at the same time. They use special products so that the pee doesn’t smell. It only took a week until my dogs took to it. I have one in my living room and one on the back patio. It’s such a huge help early in the morning or middle of the night or when it’s raining or snowing outside and when I’m not home. I even see them use it through out the day when I home. We live in a mid-rise in a large city and getting out via the freight elevator and around the block for a 2-second potty break isn’t always an appealing option, especially when it’s raining, sleeting, snowing or so windy it will rip the hat off your head. We trained our puppy to use his grass patch when he was young and haven’t looked back. We simply put him on the grass and would turn him around if he tried to wander off, repeatedly using the “go potty” command. He got the hang of it within three days. We have the XL delivered every 2 weeks for our mini poodle and it’s been a great upgrade from the L, which used to get a little stinky between changes in the hot months. Changing out the patches is a cinch because each box comes with plastic gloves and the new latch is rolled in a plastic bag you can dispose of your old lawn in. We’ve had a couple “faulty” patches (moldy/extremely muddy) but DL customer service took care of everything right away.Andrew H.

It seemed like an amazing idea! Put it together, dog used it fine and everyone was happy! Then realized the drain doesn't work very well, and left the grass flooded. Had to pull the grass up in order for the drain to drain. Then, after about the 4th or 5th use, the tray fell through. My dog is smaller than a lab, right around our just less than 40lbs. She doesn't like stepping on flooded grass or using it when it's not stable and falls through the middle. Please reinforce the base. Unfortunately there are no guidelines on how to set up the hose system in the premium so now I have a premium potty that I only use basically. When I tried my hose water went everywhere. Tried to get support but still waiting for someone to return my email. Such a shame. The pipe that leads the overflow away also leaks. Such a great idea but cheap make. I tried for six weeks to train my dog to use this. He HATES it. I bought and tried to cancel a $43 grass mat which I placed next to this and he was fine using IT. But despite a few successes manipulated with treats and the subsequent realization that this product will reek of urine despite the marketing BS, my dog only relented to using it under duress. I would never recommend this. I wasted $300 myself, don't do the same. I spoke to no fewer than seven people who'd done the same. This marketer is definitely cherry picking their metrics.Lara H

This product is a lifesaver! We have two sweet puppies and sometimes they just can't hold it until we get home from work – when they gotta go, they gotta go! We love being able to leave the potty patch out and not having to worry about carpet accidents. They both got used to it so quickly and we have no accidents in the house, truly don't know what we would do without it! It does get pretty smelly though if you don't keep up with the cleaning – and the cleaning itself can be tough on a weak stomach but that's up to you how long you let it go! We have a three story home with the yard on the bottom floor. We bought three patches. Our puppy took to them immediately. We take it with us when we travel long distance or on our boat. We never have to stop for her Potty times. Cleaning is easy. We use an absorbent pad in the tray so there's never anything to "pour" out. This is one of the best investments I have ever made. My dog took to her potty patch by the end of the day. She is now 12 years old and still uses it. I got mine when it first come on the market years ago and am ready to replace it. Without a second thought it is going to be the same brand. We live in the country and at night it is super dark (we don't have street lights) and with my dog being black and about 8 pounds I would loose her in a second also with all the critters out here that could get her, this product is a total blessing. She goes outside during the day and at night time she uses the potty patch at least 5-6 times a night. There is no way I am going to get up out of bed and take her out 5-6 a night every night. When it is raining or a lot of snow (I live in Michigan) she does not like to go out, thank goodness for the potty patch. A couple of weeks ago I bought the small petloo for indoors when it rains, my girl hates the rain, and the large one is a strughle to get inside once the rain has started. The grass is not as soft or durable as the the grass on the large one I put out on the balcony and my dog won't use it which means we get accidents indoors when it's raining. I tried putting it in th shower and running warm water over it but it dried as hard and shed bits all over the shower, so why would I pay $95 for such a poor quality product.Dabhin

My dog took to it quickly, which has been great. However, I am using it with the catch basin, and can't seem to really flush the grass well enough to prevent ammonia smell. I even take the grass into the shower every day and wash thoroughly. Maybe it's better if you have it outside with the drain.Craig
