The "Description" of this product says "X-Large," but don't be fooled. In fact it is size "M," though you won't see that on this website. I went to pick it up and let the nice people at Ace Hardware know they would need a flatbed to bring it to the front. A few minutes later they wheeled out this teeny tiny doghouse. I bought it for my Blue Heeler mix and Border Collie to share. It might fit a miniature Schnauzer. Luckily they refunded my money with no hassle at all, but I still need a dog house. Nothing against this product, which is what I want, just in an XL.Matt

These are nice dog houses. They are light weight & don't look like they are very warm, but they actually do a good job, my border collies like these a lot. The extra neck or tunnel entrance is nice to give them some extra protection and privacy. They stand up pretty well to puppies chewing on them to. I recommend this dog house.Iowafarmgal

I mistakenly bought the Large doghouse for dogs up to 90 lbs. But my 5 month old coonhound was too large for it. I returned it and ordered the X-large doghouse and it is the right size. Unfortunately, the doghouse was broken in two places, probably due to the way you ship. These doghouses are delivered without any protection and will crack or break when sliding into anything. I will have to repair it to hold it together since I don't trust you are able to send another one without the same issues.Daniel

This igloo dog house is absolutely the best thing on the market. Heavy, durable and withstands high winds, rain, and hail. I haven't been able to test in cold temperatures yet as I just received this recently. However, I have no doubts it will definitely hold up. I waited to give a review because I wanted to test out the weather conditions to truly give my 100% honest opinion. Does not come assembled but it's an easy process. The large is quite large. My dog is 60lbs and has plenty of room left in it to move adound. Provides a great shelter. It is constructed very well. You will definitely not be disappointed with this product! Those who have dogs that live outside this would be perfect for. Very well insulated and lining with straw in the winter will make it that much more insulated. We live in Pennsylvania so our winters can be brutal with sometimes 3 seasons in 1 day. I'm not sure how this would hold up insulation wise in much colder climates but for us it's absolutely perfect.Cainjm301

I got this igloo-shaped dog house for our Shih Tzu which is 20 lbs. I got this to keep her cool in the warm months when we sit on our patio. It came in two separate pieces in a large box. The top part of the dog house has 4 brackets which easily snaps to the bottom half for quick assembly. I assembled it in our home and needed to carry it out onto our patio through the front of the house since it was too wide to fit through our sliding door. It is surprisingly lightweight for its dimensions, so it is easy to carry to different locations. The top of the house has a round vent with a paw print which can be turned to open or close it as needed for ventilation. Because of its design, there’s room for movement. The smaller opening in the front protects it from the elements such as wind and sun; although rain did get in through that front opening and not the vent. It disassembles quickly for cleaning or even to transport away from home! Although it is a large house, I feel that it is suitable for a medium size dog so that it can have enough room to move comfortably. Once assembled, my dog was confused and leery, which is to be expected since it’s something new! I gently introduced her to the inside and she was able to move around comfortable until she nested on her bedding. I highly recommend this house for any small to med sized pet to be used in the summer to keep them cool and winter to keep them warmer. Yet because it lacks insulation. I would not recommend it for permanent outside shelter in the winter. Additionally, I did notice that it got hot on the patio and thus I had to move it to a shady area to avoid overheating my dog. Lastly, please leave a water bowl near this house in whatever weather!Madz64

This is one of the best dog houses I have ever had. I love that its light weight but very sturdy dog house. I have never seen a vent on a dog house, but I have to say that is a genius idea for all dogs. My dogs like that it's roomy and keeps them warm on the cooler and hot days. I like that. The dog house is stylish and easy to move around. During storms, it keeps my dogs safe and dry, which I love. This dog house brought many smiles to my dogs' face as well as providing a comfortable home for them.rana

The directions were weak and adapter ( for large Igloo Dog house} didn't match properly. Had to go on to YouTube to figure out how to make it work. The Igloo is a constant curve making something that is not built for the curve turns into a little more work. The adapter did not compensate for the curve but I did get it installed and I am happy with it and my dog is also. The heat shield needs to be a little lager and more reflective the outside of the dog house gets hotter than I personally would like. I would still recommend it.cmswin

The bracket is supposed to fit an igloo style dog house. The dog house is curved the bracket is flat which makes it difficult to drill mounting holes for the bracket. The mounting holes on the heater were not in the correct location for the bracket (had to drill bracket for heater mounting). It came with a heat shield that did not mount correctly. Instructions were vague at best. Over priced in my opinion.ldduke1961

Bought this for our older dog who now has to contend with the younger one pulling bedding out to position into sun. Now bedding stays in house, dogs prefer dog house now and they even smell better, not that musty smell. Extremely happy customer here. One of those products I should have bought earlier. We have an outside cat that is wild and will not let anyone close to her — we have "fixed" her and feed her but wanted to make her as comfortable as we could with the cold weather. The heated bed fits perfectly into the bed she sleeps in which is in a protected corner of our porch. With the weather here being in the teens and 20's she has spent a lot of time on the pad — so I know she is comfortable. Would recommend if you have an outside pet that you need to provide warmth to during the cold weather.dknig288

I ordered my dog's heated bed for her doghouse from you this year. I bought one last year from a discount place, and it didn't last long. This heated bed is a good quality bed. I ordered it 5 days before cold weather was going to hit. It got here very quickly. She loves it!!!! It works perfectly. The cord is commercial grade, and I don't have to worry about extension cords. The cord is longer, and no parts to break. Thank you.Cchristine

I ordered what was clearly stated to be a Heated Igloo Bed. When I received the package from a 3rd party , it was only a poor quality heating pad, no Igloo… no bed. When I called the 3rd party they were completely USELESS in helping to answer the questions and concerns. The item was very poor quality and did not heat up properly. This will definitely keep my Little Bit warm this winter when the cold hits here in Texas. I ordered the same door in a large before I went to Tractor Supply and bought the Indigo pet house. Little did I know my Little Bit isn't a "large" dog. Lol I ended up going with the XL house because I know how my fur baby likes to stretch out when he sleeps. I left Tractor Supply and immediately called customer service to see if I could change my order. It was to late, it had already been processed. The agent was very nice and ordered the XL door I needed & advised me to return the Large door to the store. The store refunded me with no questions asked!! I am an amazingly happy camper with my purchase and the quality of customer service I received from Tractor Supply!! Thank you!!!cmm0908

Although I bought the door I'm not sure it will work as I want. I bought the Igloo and door for feral neighborhood cats to stay warm this winter. My one local outside cat walked into the Igloo and napped, but this was after I installed the door, flipped it up and taped it up inside. I taped it up in order to let cats get used to the Igloo and door after being installed. Later, after I know cats are going into the Igloo I will release the door and let it hang normally; hopefully, the cats will get used to going in and out of the Igloo and pushing through the door.Ward

The door seems to be working as designed and my dog quickly learned to use it with no problem. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the difficulty in installing it. There is so little space to hold the nut to put the bolt into (the bolt cannot be put in first!) that my awkward hands could not install it as designed. I wound up using zip ties instead, which seem to work well so far.Jeb232

It's not extra large, that's for sure. It's a large. My two Berner males at 94-lbs and 120-lbs don't go in because they can barely turn around in it. Nor my 88-lb Pyrenees. The material itself is great. But isn't the point that the dog can get in/out of it so they use it? My smaller 72-lb female uses her Ex-Lg. So is it really the size a medium dog should use? I spent $$ for 5 Extra Lg and 1 dog uses it. Not a happy camper.SCloudcroft

Purchased a second XL house for our two Great Pyrenees because they no longer fit in one together. Our original is over 15 years old and is in great shape. Love the new design with the slight angle that provides more space and blocks the wind. Durable and strong material, yet still lightweight and easy to move.S Ringo

I ordered this product to help my shepherd, Oakley, stay warm during a round of freezing nights that came early this year. After putting it in her Igloo, Oakley wouldn't come out to greet me the usual way. She just pokes her head out to give kisses and thanks for being warm and comfortabe. I got this recently on a great sale price… it was half the cost of another dog house that I bought (and returned). The one I ended up returning was designed as an actual house, but cost $100 and the plastic was very flimsy… I felt it wasn't worth the price, and my dog never liked it. I looked online and saw this "dog house" (it's really a crate, IMO); and Petco had the least expensive price, at half the retail cost. I was also able to pick it up the same day at a local store, and received a further discount for picking it up at the store. There's only 2 pieces (a top and a bottom), and the top basically just sits on the bottom, with tabs that are supposed to hold it in place. It's not the most secure, but I don't see this being blown across the yard or anything. The plastic is heavy duty and sturdy… I mean sure, if you live in a tornado or hurricane area, then of course, yes, it'll get toss across the neighborhood; but otherwise, it should stay in place. Great for when you need to leave your pet outside for a while. It's very wide, but not very long though. My dog can curl up in here and he can fit, but he can not stretch out or lay out in this… which is fine, because dogs usually like sleeping curled up and they like snug fitting enclosures to sleep in. My standard size labradoodle fits into it. He uses it to sleep in. This is not something he can stand straight up in or something he can stretch out in… but for sleeping, he loves to curl up in it. I bought it for use outside during the winter or a rainy day, to get out of the cold or rain when I have to put him outside in the yard for a while. We put it inside the house first so that he would get use to it. The one I got said it was for dogs 50-90 lbs., which is the large size. He has no problem getting in and out of this, and he likes it a lot better than the Suncast house shaped doghouse I got him (which I ended up returning). This is plastic, but it's made of heavy duty plastic and it's sturdy; there's only a top and bottom part, and basically the top part sits on the bottom part, with tabs that are supposed to hold the two pieces together. I got it on sale, so I got it for a great price.NYCGalOut

Got these doghouses as an outdoor reprieve from the elements for our 2 Huskies. They are very sturdy and made of solid hard plastic. They've managed to remain dry inside even in a couple of downpours and driving rain. The only time that wasn't the case is when I had one on an uneven patch of grass. So you definitely want to place it on a platform if there's no flat surface. Unfortunately our pups, house dogs that LOVE to go out and play, still haven't embraced the concept of having a private pad "outside." Other than that, it's easy to set up and clean. It has plenty of room for our 70 pounder and is absolutely palatial for the 45 pounder. I got the large size for both since they were so affordable – $44 bucks each! Love the color. great for small pets! i got the mini size for my robo hamster and he loves it. it is cheap too which is great. i love how it comes in many sizes for different animals. the only downsize is that it is clear! i put it in my hamsters sand bath, but i have other hideouts through the cage besides this, so it works out well.rebecca.w

I work at PetSmart and these are what we use for all the small animals in our care. They are great. the animals seem to like them. They come in all different sizes to accommodate different sized pets at different life stages. They come in tons of cool colors as well. The only thing they do not hold up against are gerbils. Gerbils chew quite a bit so I would recommend something that it would hurt a gerbil to chew up. Like a wooden house or and edible house. When they chew on them the edges become sharp and the plastic isn't the best for them anyhow. I have seen some of these igloos almost chewed in half by these little guys. But other than that, these igloos are a great product for any other pet and they are easy to clean!colleen.t

Really like the fan kennel fan. It’s very easy to install with no tools required, takes about two minutes .I bought a spare battery just to be safe for very long days where you need to run it on high all day at hunt tests or traveling. Plus being insulated is perfect for a cold Indiana winter. She's huge and still growing and loves it. The first night she slept in front of it despite dog treats inside. Second night was cooler, she decided to check it out so the head and front paws went thru the swinging door first, and after she had stood that way for about 5 minutes, walked all the way in, and has loved it ever since. From the size if it unless she grows as much as Clifford the big red dog, she'll get to enjoy for a lifetime.PJ

My dog seems to love his new doghouse. It's very roomy and super easy to assemble. It's insulated too so hope it keeps him warm. We took the bottom half of the doggie door off to get use to going in and out of the doghouse. He did wonderful. I think when we put the bottom half back on it will be fine.LoriOe

We got this house for a new Boxador puppy so that it can spend most of its time outside. We found it to be a good product. It was easy to put together and does stay much warmer than the outside air. In rainy weather, it stays dry. It is a very large house which would work for a lab or other large dog. No problems with the dog using the door. Only suggestion: add nuts and bolts for the 6 screws. Screwing metal into plastic is not a real good plan. I'm assuming the company will have replacement parts (door, window, etc…) available for my investment!Y Robinson

The plastic is bent and would not stay in place. Tried several times but the material is really to flimsy to hold together and the slightest bump sends the sections flying off.Sierra Musher
