You can wash the outside of the bed fan but the inside is a paper bag filled with chopped up foam that can't be washed. i dont about everyione but I'll bet there goes outside and gets stinky. why would you sell a bed without a serviceable liner in it. I am thinking about throwing the inside bag away and buying another bed from a dufferent company that i can put inside that can be washed. The problem is that dog loves it ir i would throw it away. i have resirted to putting a large garbage bag over the stinky part so she can still use it until I can do better. To much work. Not worth it!!!Linda

This probably isn’t the review you’d expect, but my daughter LOVES this bed. When she was a few months old, we went on a family vacation and in lieu of spending $180 for a DockATot, we purchased this instead. This bed has literally been her obsession since that trip. Any time she sees it (even when I bring it downstairs to wash), she starts panting like a dog and rushes over to try and lay on it. We used it past the vacation and put it into her crib at home. She’s 20 months old now, and we’re trying to transition her to a toddler bed, but she keeps tossing and turning all night because she loves this dang dog bed so much and her regular toddler mattress just isn’t good enough for her. I came here to figure out what the minky fabric is that covers this darn bed so I can buy a fitted sheet of the same/similar texture to try and appease her and figured I would leave a review while I was here. We bought an extra when she was in daycare because she was having a rough time during nap time. Ohhh the laughs we got when I brought the dog bed in.. but it worked and she went right to sleep!Heather

It shrunk in size! Very disappointed in this purchase. They are making them smaller and the height is only 6 in compared to what the dimensions on the site saying 8 inches tall, they should be careful about that. I bought this for my lab-ish dog who is getting up there in years and isn't as comfortable on the floor. She LOVES it! It is big enough that she can sleep in a ball or stretch all the way out. The memory foam in the bottom takes 24 hours to expand before it goes in the bed. it is so thick and high quality. My dog likes to lay her head on things when she sleeps, so the bolster around the edges is really handy. My smaller dogs like to share it. I am really pleased with the bed, so are the dogs!Kaitlyn

Very thick padding on bottom of bed. It is actually several inches thick. Even with me sitting in it, I can't feel the floor. I think this would be great for older dogs due to the thick padding on base. The padding comes separate from the bed and when you unroll it, it increases in size. To assemble it, you just zip it in the bottom. The bottom base is rectangular and covers the whole entire bed at the bottom so no part of your dog is ever touching the hard ground. The bed is surrounded by thick bolsters and pretty flexible that the sides will move out if you dog wants to curl up or if they touch against the sides. My dog likes to use the side cushions as a head rest. I got the medium size for my dog who is a ~33lbs Shiba Inu. He's pretty big for his breed but it fits him perfectly when he decides to roll up in it and also he likes sleeping in it with his head up. Overall, its a great dog bed for a dog that likes to be snugged up and I think would be very supportive if your dog had hip/joint issues. I can see my dog using this a lot in the winter months and as he gets older.Autumn

My dog loves this orthopedic bed! We've tried a lot of different beds, but he loves the extra big cushions on this one. My dog is small (about 8 pounds), but I opted for this Medium size for him to be able to stretch out when laying on his side. It feels really high-quality, but still lightweight enough to move around the house. My dog likes to lounge in it during the day, but also snuggles up in it at night! I would highly recommend this for any small to medium sized dog who either likes to curl up against cushions for a safe feeling, or ones that like to rest their head on top of pillows.Victoria

I searched high and low for a bed that has an easy to remove cover. This is it! Very full, comfy bed. My dog loves it. The middle does flatten, but the inner part zips open so you can add more of your own stuffing. Highly recommend. We got this bed for our 13 year old pug, and it is perfect. He's bigger (not fat, just a bigger bodied pug), about 26 lbs, and likes to sleep a little stretched out sometimes and this gives him room to do that, or curl up. What's funny is our 65 lb pittbul/boxer also loves it and will squeeze in and curl up and it's a perfect fit for him that way! It is super soft material, and the orthopedic foam is really nice for both of them and their achy old bones. It was a great buy, would definitely get again.Lindsey G.

My dog is very happy with his new bed. We had a coupon code so the price was extremely reasonable and free shipping! I have a 70lb dog and bought jumbo but it was ginormous, he’s more or a medium size dog with some serious muscle, so a large would’ve been a better choice. Contacted customer service and they were very helpful and made returning the jumbo bed easy. I ordered a large and it’s much better for my dog. It’s comfortable and easy to wash. This is the only bed that my sassy dogchild has accepted! He apparently refuses to believe he is not human, so he has always slept in our bed. At 100 pounds, this is difficult for us. This dog bed is giant enough for him to spread out and provides the support he needs for his arthritic hips. I have yet to wash it, but I’m happy we have that option. Totally recommend!Riley

This large doggie orthopedic sofa bed is the best bed I've bought for my boxer. He loves this bed. The first night of sleeping on this bed was the best night for me…why…because He didn't wake me up until 9am instead of 7:30 am to go out to potty. I believe he had a more comfortable sleep, also because he appeared to have more engery…jumping around like a Jack rabbit, circling around me wagging his tail as to say thankyou. The "cooling" side of the mattress is a lie. I know how cooling mattresses looks like and yours just have the color but not a cooling layer. My dog is very hot in his new bed during hot days and sleeps on the floor. Therefore, I feel cheated for having paid almost $50 for this bed. Also, the cover material is synthetic which naturally created heat and on top of a synthetic sponge creates a really too hot environment for my dog. The material is slippery so my elderly dog can hardly get up. The only reason I gave two stars is that the shape and height are good. Still, sizes you provide are inadequate and not a reflection of dog needs which is strange when Furheaven is in this business. My Yorki is a normal size. Yet, when I bought small which you recommend according to the size and weight chart as well as the sleeping area measurements you provided,he can fit well provided he is all the time in something like a fetus position and he doesn't move much. He cannot stretch or lie down in such a way so as to have at least an inch of space between himself and the sides of the bed. Dogs sometimes sleep in a stretched position and do need some extra space. Dogs also move during the sleep, swirl around, wiggle. So I had to get him a medium size which is really too big for him and the space where we keep it in our apartment but I am happy he has some extra space. Humans don't sleep in beds which are exactly their size. Standard beds even if a twin size have some extra space on all four sides because nobody stays in one position during the night. Why would it be any different for dogs especially when it's known that they sleep most of the time. I don't get it.Zenja B.

We absolutely LOVE this bed!!! It is extremely well made with separate zippered compartments for the bolster and bed padding. This makes it very easy to wash the cover and not the padding. I highly recommend the "Convoluted Orthopedic Foam" Mattress. As we live in California where the weather is warmer, the "Quilted" Cover material has been perfect all year round. This is actually our second bed that we bought. The first bed we bought for our an older dog who was starting to get arthritis and have back issues. We felt this bed greatly reduced his symptoms and made his last years much more comfortable. At a certain point we ordered a replacement cover for the first bed. It was still in such great condition when he passed that we could not get rid of it. Our new puppy found the bed and claimed it as her own. We decided to get a new cover for her along with another bed, so she had one in each room. We got the Medium size originally for a 35 LB older dog. The puppy is currently 20LB, but will probably be 35-40 LB as an adult. This has provided plenty of room for both dogs.Joan B.

We have purchased quite a few items from PetSafe over the years and have always been happy with the quality. The idea of it is cool. Our pup likes to go the park but I always take the older car. The gray color of this is nice and it doesn't look too bad with my new car interior. It secures to the headrest and seats. The bolster is quite firm and supportive but it isn't my favorite PetSafe item by far. While inserting the bolster, my fingers kept poking through the fabric. I've dealt with the same type of fabric before with other beds and never had an issue. Once I got it in there, the zipper was stretched to the max. I was sure it was going to be the first thing to go. It says this bed is machine washable but I wouldn't. The actual fuzzy part of the bed has a cushion you insert too but even with it, there's no "bed" at all really. Very thin materials. It's not holding up well so far. If you have a smaller dog that doesn't move around much in the backseat it may work better. I just don't think it holds up good for big dogs like mine. My wife's car has leather seats and we noticed that the bed slips all over the place. No grippers on the bottom at all. I can't really recommend it.semiller3

This dog bed is great for my Labrador Retriever! She loves to be able to stretch out across the back seat of the car. This dog bed is a great size and it completely protects my seats from her very sharp nails. I love how plush it is and I love how easy it is to secure to the seat. I take my dog in the car a lot and we take her to visit family 7 hours away, so this will be great for those long trips. This is a great product and I highly recommend it.krisb

We use to use a sheet on the back seat when taking the dogs for car rides, it would move around and not really protect the back seat. This car dog bed was so easy to install and our dogs love it. Our lab use to always sit the entire time while in the car, the seat part is so comfy that he actually lays down and looks so relaxed now. The seat anchors really help keep it in place and was super easy to clean. Love that you can take the padding out so you can wash it when it gets really dirty. This is a must have if you take your furry friends for car rides.Lisa02

This is a well made dog bed. Easy to put together, very comfortable for my dog, stays cleaner than other dog beds, easy to remove and wash. I have a labrador retriever and initially got the large size, but exchanged it for the jumbo. The large size was a good size, but upon watching him sleep, i found out he likes to stretch out. Yes the jumbo size is very large and requires a lot of space in your room, but it is worth it to see him stretch out or curled up in his very comfy bed. A little pricey but he is worth it. I tried other beds and they are of inferior quality and won't last long. I highly recommend it. For your reference my dog is about 73 Lbs and measured 40 inches when laying down and lightly curled. Two dogs could fit in the jumbo bed if they decide to curl and lay next to each other. But not for stretching in a hot summer evening.Love Labradors 2

My 13 year old Lab was going for spirited 2 mile walks 4 months ago but alas, age it seems has finally caught up with my dearest and closest friend. His hips and knees have been noticeably troubling him, especially in the morning after a long sleep. He’s always had doggy beds but now more than ever I want him to be as comfortable as possible. This bed is FANTASTIC and my good boy loves it! He is 74 lbs but tall and lanky. The large measurements were too small for him, if you look in the picture the golden retriever in the large has zero room to stretch out. I am so glad I went with the XL. My sweet boy can lounge and stretch and get as comfy as his heart desires. I ordered the brown color but have a small blanket draped over it in the image. The quality of the bed is good, the size is not. I ordered the large and the area that the dog would actually lay on is so so small, it would maybe fit a Boston Terrier. And it is very lumpy. The bolsters take up all the inches here.happyshopper

One of my great danes is 7 1/2. He threw out his poor old back a day before I ordered this bed it was absolutely awful to see him hurt so bad. It was his old bed. I ordered this after his vet appointment and I was relieved to see big barker shipped it the same day, the Friday before memorial day. Memorial weekend passed and we got it on Tuesday. I also want to mention that I appreciate a product made in the US, I buy what I can American made. He laid on it for a few days and then quit and then I realized it was because it didn't smell like his stinky old blankets that he enjoys so much, so after I put his favorite smelly blanket on the bed he took to it immediately. We got the XL with 1 side that has a pillow. He hasn't seemed to care about the pillow much so he avoids it. Only one dane can fit on the bed but he is a big beefy euro dane. I absolutely plan on ordering again for our 2nd great dane but getting the flat XL version, maybe swapping them out for the boys. Reggie my injured dane was hand raised by me with love, he was a rescue that I fostered at 2 weeks and we fell in love with him so we were fortunate to be able to adopt him. I used to kangaroo him because he was so small and ill he couldnt retain his own body temp. So safe to say I love my dogs like they're my own children. Very glad I decided to give it a shot. It was expensive but so is an emergency vet appointment with a hurt back. Well worth the money if it makes his final years earthside comfortable.Jessi

It's been 3 years since I first experienced a Big Barker that was generously donated to a special needs dog at the rescue where I work in Missouri. 18 mo. later we bought one for our 80# Akita/Shepherd Knarly after I saw how that donated bed stood up to the wear and tear of daily shelter use. That was 18 mo ago. We lost him in February to what looked like cancer, but it was a fast end to a big life full of adventure. He loved this thing. I love this thing. It kept me from waking up every 40 minutes when he got uncomfortable crammed onto our queen sized memory foam mattress (we're not small people either) and hopped stiffly down to the carpet, then got back up with us a little while later. I miss the big, comfortable sigh he'd give us every night once his chin hit the pillow. And he slept HARD, with his bad leg hanging off the side. I miss our dog. The bed's still going strong under our 60# pit mix, though. He likes to hang his rear end off, elbows on the bed, and stretch his back legs out with his toes all spread out, then belly crawl the rest of the way onto it, draped over the middle of it. Pitties are weird. At least mine's weird and comfy! I think, nostalgia aside, what's impressed me the most is that there's NO WEAR to this bed, the foam *or* the cover. Other than the seasonal shedding fur right now, it looks like it did the day I took it out of the box. I can't find human products that stand up to the beating our dogs give things, so I feel like I've gotten my money's worth out of this bed already. Knowing it's designed for 10 years of use just means I've invested in all of my dogs' health for a good while longer. I'm here today getting a Lg Sleek for our Rottie mix's crate. I’ve been buying beds for my big old man for a long time. He’s about 100lbs, and he’s 14 years old. Now he’s hurt and doesn’t walk well, so he spends the majority of his time in bed, and it’s even more important to have a good bed. To get a halfway decent bed, it’s usually about $150+, and I’m still disappointed. The memory foam is thin or goes flat. Some beds actually have thick foam, but they’re not memory foam, and they’re too dense and firm. The last bed I bought said that it was 5” thick with dual foam. It seemed nice enough when I sat on it, but exactly a year later, when I laid on it for an hour, my joints were all killing me. I felt almost like I had been lying on the floor. Every review said that this was hands down the best bed. I was really looking for something more in my budget, but I couldn’t find anything even half as good as this one, and I had just paid $180 for the other one, and had to replace it after a year! If I had bought this one a year ago, my pup would be happier, and I wouldn’t be buying another, so it’s a sound investment. I didn’t really have the money for it right now, and didn’t want my dog to have to wait for a new bed, but then I read that they offer Affirm, which acts like a payment plan! So I could have the bed now! I was sold. OMG, I’m so glad I bought it. This bed says it’s 7” thick. The old bed said 5”, but the Big Barker is at least twice as thick as the old one! I don’t know if the Big Barker measurements are modest, or if the other bed’s were inflated, or if that’s how flat it went over the year or what, but the Big Barker immediately exceeded my expectations. It’s super comfy – the right amount of support and squish. My dog is happy. It’s the best quality bed I’ve ever bought. If you’re thinking about it, just do it. This thing is going to last. Two things I would change, though. One, I wish the covers were available in green. My dog has become incontinent, so I wish that the outside cover was waterproof. I know they sell a waterproof membrane for the inside, which is good. I wish there was an option for a super tough, durable, waterproof cover. One of the beds I had before had that, and rather than having to constantly remove the cover, wash, and replace it, I could leave the whole cover on, and soap/hose it down really quick. It was also chew resistant (not a problem in my house, but sure kills two birds with one stone). Anyway, it’s fine, I wrapped the bed including the cover in a 6-sided waterproof encasement, and I have multiple waterproof blankets, so I layer one of those on the bed, and then put down a couple of washable waterproof pads too, so it’s protected. As such, his photos don’t show off the bed as well as they could.blackviolet

I got this Martha Stewart Charlie 4-sided Bolster with Ortho Base and Removable Cover for my dog a couple of weeks ago. It has become his new favorite place to nap. When he sleeps in this bed he just passes out and snores. It's really cute and I know it has to be comfortable for him to sleep that hard. I like the fact that it has a slip resistent bottom so it doesn't slide around when he jumps in it and has a removable cover so that it can be washed.Ladywolf19791

I got this for my dog and I wasn't to sure about the size of it. I have a large dog and this turned out to be a bit small for him but he loves to lay in it anyways. It's nicely padded to give a bit of support so he's not just on the hard floor. I know it's washable but I can only figure out how to take the bottom pad out and it still seems too bulky to put in a washer. But I have one happy dogjulibeaner02

I got this bed about 4 weeks ago and am extremely satisfied with it. Or should I say my dog is extremely satisfied with it! It is now her favorite place to hang out. It's a perfect fit for her (she's a 40lb border collie), where she can sit/lay in several different positions and still be inside the bed. I've only had to wash it once since she played in the mud and ran straight to her bed before I could grab the towel. The cover was very easy to remove and came out of the wash looking brand new.Robrob

Had the bed 24 hours and came into my office this morning to find my two 3lb your kids and my 6lb maltipoo with stuffing all over the floor. I ordered a larger size bed meant for a much larger dog because my dogs like to lay together. There’s no way this would have a chance with a larger dog. Going to give them a second chance and swapping this one out with Amazon and hoping it was a defective one. If the replacement appears to be in better condition I will update my review.Bonnie Shawl

My puppy really likes laying on it. His favorite part is the fabric pea (like The Princess and the Pea) that came with it. It is his favorite ball. It is nice and soft, squeaks. and the right size for his mouth. It is great for playing fetch inside because it will not hurt anything. It is well made. So far he has not been able to scratch or chew through it. I would buy it again.m

My dog loves her new this is a size Medium but there wasn’t that option to select on Influenster. The bed comes just like those beds in a box that expand once you take them out. It says it can take up to 3 days before it’s fully expanded but it seemed to expand completely within an hour or two. The cover is removable to wash. For reference my dog is 23 pounds and a Mini Schnauzer. The bed is perfect for her size. It also came with a little green ball which is suppose to be a “pea” like Princess and the pea and she loves the ball. #furryfriendsalexis.s

I got one of these beds (36” XL) for my pup who has separation anxiety. When she isn’t sleeping in bed with me, she is snuggled into her faux fur bed. I brought it to my parent’s place when I had a trip and, surprisingly to all of us, my dad’s 10 yr old Anatolian Shepard Mix (who was born in a cave in Afghanistan) fell in love with it. This dog does not like any type of comfort. Beds, toys, treats… she has never shown any interest in anything my dad has given her. When I returned from my trip the first thing I was asked is where I got it. Ever since Bella got her own fur donut bed, she seems to be actually sleeping better and less anxious… about everything. This has to be the best dog bed I have ever purchased. My dog plays toss with it. My baby also hides his toys and bones in it and He sleeps in it. It is super soft and furry. I do not recommend washing no matter ehat the instructions state but spot clean it as needed. I have never seen a pet bed washed that comes out like it went in. I cannot say anything negative about this pet bed except I need more for the cats. This particular size pet bed runs for around $35. The bottom is not very cushy but decent. We have a 55-60 lb dog and the 30×30 is way too big to be comfy but the next size smaller was cramped. I thought the fluffy fabric would be thicker but it is a bit thin for my taste. It does seem to be well constructed though. Do not stick this size in a large home dryer as it is too big and the heat will matte the fluffy strands (almost like melting) from the heat because it cannot move around enough. Kind of a bummer because it doesn't look nice on one of the sides.WallyGBWI
