Does the job and my elderly dog loves it. However, the removable pillow needs to be more secured to the base of the bed. There are only two small squares of Velcro which do not hold. I received my new bed for my little girl , Hope , a papillion mix breed about 7 lbs. When I opened the box and put it on the floor for her , she was so excited and hopped over the side to get in it. The bed is the large size so she has plenty of room to stretch out and lay however she wants to. I thought this bed looked great on the site but upon getting it and letting my little gal sleep in it it turns out that its really a DISASTER. Let me explain. The cushion in the bed does not cover the entire floor of the bed and when she gets in it gets pushed to the back and she ends up sleeping in a "crevice" and falls to the bottom of the bed. I don't know whether my dogs prefer these to other beds/crate liners, but I do. I bought two of the white fleece as crate liners. The first thing I like is that the side are higher so that my dogs are not leaning up against the sides of the crate – they are cushioned. I also like that they have straps on the bottom to help them stay stationary in the crate.One of my dogs often vomits or has diarrhea, and I am able to toss these in the washer with no problem. I bought these over one year ago, and have washed them many times. I run them through the white cycle with bleach, and they hold up well. We have purchased quite a few items from PetSafe over the years and have always been happy with the quality. The idea of it is cool. Our pup likes to go the park but I always take the older car. The gray color of this is nice and it doesn't look too bad with my new car interior. It secures to the headrest and seats. The bolster is quite firm and supportive but it isn't my favorite PetSafe item by far. While inserting the bolster, my fingers kept poking through the fabric. I've dealt with the same type of fabric before with other beds and never had an issue. Once I got it in there, the zipper was stretched to the max. I was sure it was going to be the first thing to go. It says this bed is machine washable but I wouldn't. The actual fuzzy part of the bed has a cushion you insert too but even with it, there's no "bed" at all really. Very thin materials. It's not holding up well so far. If you have a smaller dog that doesn't move around much in the backseat it may work better. I just don't think it holds up good for big dogs like mine. This bed is amazing for so many reasons. My cat doesn't usually take to beds purchased from pet supply stores or big box stores because they smell like other animals, even after several washings. It smelled great, fresh and clean. I followed the instructions for fluffing the fibers and tossing it in the dryer for a short tumble. It puffed up just perfectly. I ordered this item for my dog's kennel. When I first received it, it was very soft and comfy. I've had it about 2 weeks now, and it's still soft, but has lost some of it's fluff. I specifically purchased them on the hopes that I could use them for newborn chihuahua litters, but the edges are week enough the babies can wiggle out, but then can't get back in. They certainly didn't advertise that they were more rigid, I was just hoping lol! I got one of these beds (36” XL) for my pup who has separation anxiety. When she isn’t sleeping in bed with me, she is snuggled into her faux fur bed. I brought it to my parent’s place when I had a trip and, surprisingly to all of us, my dad’s 10 yr old Anatolian Shepard Mix (who was born in a cave in Afghanistan) fell in love with it. This has to be the best dog bed I have ever purchased. My dog plays toss with it. My baby also hides his toys and bones in it and He sleeps in it. It is super soft and furry. I do not recommend washing no matter ehat the instructions state but spot clean it as needed. I have never seen a pet bed washed that comes out like it went in. I cannot say anything negative about this pet bed except I need more for the cats. This particular size pet bed runs for around $35. The bottom is not very cushy but decent. We have a 55-60 lb dog and the 30×30 is way too big to be comfy but the next size smaller was cramped. I thought the fluffy fabric would be thicker but it is a bit thin for my taste. It does seem to be well constructed though. Do not stick this size in a large home dryer as it is too big and the heat will matte the fluffy strands (almost like melting) from the heat because it cannot move around enough.
