Cyber Monday Dog Crate For Sale (2024 Update)

If you are needing to purchase a new dog crate, this is the brand and model I highly recommend. Midwest had several levels of crates but I have found that you cannot go wrong purchasing the Lifestage's model. They are solidly made and last forever. I always purchase the double door crates. They have cheaper models & more expensive ones too. I would not recommend their icrate as they are cheaper but they are also not had solidly made as the Lifestage's. Spend the extra $10-$15 and purchase the Life Stages model. It is well worth the money. I have had great success purchasing there crates at Petco.com. I always receive my items within a couple of days. It is also nice when you have a Petco store nearby where you live. If you have any issues with the merchandise you received, they have always been very accommodating and made sure they did whatever was necessary to correct the problem, return the merchandise at a full refund and/or replaced the item. I have been very happy with Petco and the merchandise I have purchased!!!Shari L

I just received this crate a couple of days ago for my Saint Bernard mix pup. The size is perfect and he has tons of room to grow in it. The doors latch nicely and the crate is very sturdy. We received this very fast! The only downfall I had with this purchase was that when we removed it from the box and set it up, there was a decent sized crack (all the way through) on the tray. I won't be replacing the tray as I've spent enough on this crate. And fortunately for me, my 5 month old pup doesn't have accidents in his crate, but I'm sure if others received this, they would not be happy.tsjackie

I had been looking at the end table style crates thinking that would look nicer and less bulky then the 4' x 4' X-pen I have in my living room. But, comfort is the main criteria and I wanted my Whippets to feel they could stand and dig through a deep pile of bedding, so I went with this crate. I like to rearrange the furniture so I bought the double door style to keep my options open. For my two Whippets I bought the 42" x 28" size which has been more then enough room for them to lay side by side or end to end. It arrives flat, but you just fold out the sides and it is ready to go. It came with a handle so it could be 'portable', but at this size it is heavy and I don't plan to take it anywhere, so I didn't attach that. I left the X-Pen up for them while they made the transition, but they hopped into the new crate the minute I put it up and haven't been back in the X-Pen (even though it still has more bedding in it). The black wire instantly looked better then the metal of the X-Pen and I'm staining a piece of wood I put trim molding around for the top (I had it cut to size at Home Depot) so I'll have an end table style look, but the height and comfort the pups want for their 'cave.' Very happy and buying a second one to have at the office for the days they come to work with me. Both crates and the wood top are costing less then the end table style crate, so all three of us are happy!psh1

I don’t love this cover. There is nothing to hold it onto the crate so it slips about. I am going to sew some ties onto the bottom to help keep it in place. I do like the option to open different parts of the cover for different doors on the crate. The pattern is nice and also.Little cat dog

The cover was just as I expected. Light weight, durable and easy to care for. The oy recommendation I can .American is to add velcro/hook&loop fasteners to keep the top of the cover in place. This would prevent the occupant from chewing and keep the cover in place. The for is drab but it gives the crate a dark den appearance so the occupationt is calm and content. The price is right and enaes the economical purchase of several.Wudbuchr

I have found over the years that animals naturally respond favorably to a darkened environment. They are more relaxed and calm. Babies in a crate with natural, artificial, even greatly reduced lighting remain alert, peering into the darkness. They often whine, whimper, or bark, but cover the crate and within minutes, they unwind and are off to sleep. For this reason, I have put dark cloth or a blanket over my crates. These covers make it so much easier, and they don't shift or hang on the floor. They look tidier and I can vacuum around the crate without catching the cover.Zuwadi

Well, we bought the beige style of this one and it was great. Cats love it. Decided to get the white one.. Terrible craftmanship. The top part leans and will not get any tighter..Posts are not as thick as the beige one. The beige came with a hanging mouse and rope, the white one does not. I honestly don't even think they are the same manufacture..Youngmawmaw

I was so excited about the fantastic sales price on the crates! Ordered an i Crate in the large size, before I did the research. After research I realized I ordered the lowest-grade crate, not what I wanted. Tried to cancel the order to reorder the higher-grade Ultima Pro. After two calls, they did send a cancel through to see if it would work. (It didn't.) I didnt want to risk waiting and missing the sale so I ordered the Ultima Pro, had to be medium, because large was out of stock. Just opened it and, like others, got one that can't even be put together because it's so out of square. It can't even be bent into place it's so bad. This is one reason I HATE buying online. The only good part is I can at least return it to the local Petco instead of having to ship it back.Lotsa animals here

What a pleasant experience. This is such a sturdy crate. I have Serama Chickens that are indoor pets and this was just a great buy for a very reasonable price. Although I do not have a dog, there is no doubt in my mind that this cage would be perfect for a small dog.Lori

I purchased two of these "KennelMaster 24" Folding Black Wire 2 Door Dog Crate" and have had them for several months. What a great buy! Super easy to set up: they come preassembled and all folded up. They unfold and set up in a minute. I have one for each of my dogs: a Maltese/Bichon mix and a Chihuahua mix (who looks just like a small German Shepherd). We use their crates for the night time and when we leave the house. These crates are made of very nice thick metal. Incredibly sturdy. The latches are well made and smart-doggy proof. I like that the bottom is solid and can be easily removed and sanitized. My dogs have scratched and nibbled on the bars daily and the crates have held up like new. There are two doors on each crate: one door on a long side and one door on a short side. There's also a handle on top which makes it really easy to move around when I am relocating it, transporting the dogs, or just moving the crates to vacuum and clean underneath. My crates also came with some additional wire dividers that I don't use. I believe they are for making the crate smaller when you have a puppy and removing it as your dog grows. Crates can be really expensive so I was glad to find these at such a bargain price, especially because they are so well made. I know these crates will last many, many years. I have no negative things to say about these dog crates. I would highly recommend them! Please note: I do not put both dogs in the same crate, though they do both fit. We bought a larger crate 6 months ago that housed 3 small dogs and 2 cats for 3 days while we drove across country. For several months the 3 dogs shared it at night (the cats found another place to sleep). Recently, we decided to separate the 2 older dogs from the younger and bought 2 of the medium sized crates. The "travel crate" was folded and put away in the laundry room for the next time we travel with all our babies, and we stacked the 2 medium crates. Even stacked, these crates have good strength and a solid build. I can't say enough about how exceptional these crates are and the divider is great when needing to separate pets in a pinch.mslubner

My dog loves her new crate. She out grew the first one we purchased . This one gives her all the room she needs to stretch out and sleep. I was very impressed with the quality of this crate versus the quality of the first crate. This new crate has superior strength . No rattling. It is sturdy and strong. Truly a nice furniture kennel. Bought it without reviews, so took a chance. One of the containers was destroyed in shipment, but it’s packed with styrofoam all around so no damage! The locking mechanism seems sturdy. The bars seem sturdy. The boards are strong. The instructions are pictures, but easy to follow along with. My dogs are well behaved in kennel, so not sure how it will stand up with one who’s not. Overall, I’d recommend it!MML

Very good quality. Packed very well. Exactly what I expected. Liked the fact there's only a removable plastic bottom and not a fixed wood bottom. Makes it lighter and easier to move and can remove plastic tray and put your dogs Favorite blanket and/or bed. I actually bought two and both of my dogs love them. One dog is a Whippet/Hound mix about 40 lbs 2' tall x 3' long she fits fine. Other dog is a Labradoodle about 50 lbs 18" tall x 28" long, stocky and he loves is it.MarMay

I like this product, except our small dog can push the double door and while they don't open, they bow out. It needs two things. magnets to hold the double doors open when they are not closed, and something at the top of the double doors to hold them tightly closed. Otherwise I love it! My husband is very handy and will make a latch for the top of the double doors, and put some magnets on the side to hold them open when not in use.Robbi C

There are a few things you need to know about this product before purchasing… 1. It says it can fit a 18-50lb dog in here, but I disagree. It’s a little smaller than I was expecting, so I say a 30lb MAX could fit in here depending on the dog. 2. There is NO bottom piece, ONLY a plastic tray. I was expecting a bottom piece under the plastic tray, but I understand that it is for easy cleanup reasons. terrible! did not last 16 hrs literally . my puppy was able to chew thru it in no time at all . maybe it's my fault I should have just went with metal and not something nicer looking . I was under the impression this wasn't just wood and would sustain some scratching nibbling but as soon as I put it together I knew it was a mistake (screwing some of sides in by hand and being able to see it just is cheap) for it being this expensive I would expect better quality!Brian

We had to add an extra clip to the door to keep her in the crate, which is a pain getting the clip on and off to let her in and out. She can’t gorse the door on this crate open due to the double latches AND the extra “hook” on the tip that holds the latches in place. My little bulldozer can’t open this crate by force and go counter surfing, much to her dismay.TKettle

We have a chubby chihuahua that is petrified of the wind and storms we have here during the monsoon season… I'ved tried a calming coat and letting her sleep with us but she shakes so badly, no one could get any sleep! I had a feeling this little pink crate might do the trick! At first, she was hesitant to even get in it, but I left her little bed in it and after only 2 days she was laying in there and feeling very secure! We had lots of wind and dust storms the last two nights and son of a gun, there was Baby, tucked in her crate, not bothered by the storm. My 3 year old grandson was over today playing with his toys in it and it's pretty sturdy too! Setting it up took only two minutes right out of the box with no loose parts to worry about. Wow, a crate that is pretty. I don't know if that matters to the pets, but I sure like looking at a blue crate. A baby blue to be exact. This crate is small. The one piece package is easy to open, setup and breakdown for storing and transporting. It weighs 11 lbs. It measures 24 1/2" long x 18" wide and just under 21" high. When closed up the 21" high becomes approximately 3 1/2 inches and latches closed. It doesn't have a carry handle which is disappointing. No divider is included, but really not necessary for a small one door crate. The tray is solid with no imprint as others that I have and that's a plus. The even surface is much easier to clean. The sliding latch is easy and stays in place. I noticed that the paint makes it a tiny bit "thicker" and requires just a little more effort to setup and breakdown than my others. A few spots of paint have chipped off due to this. And because it doesn't have any sharp edges even under these chips; it's nothing of concern, just an observation. Very smooth bars and connections. The crate has a single door which is fine for my pet room, but if you need to move it around or transport in small spaces, you might want one with a double door. I have set this up in my pet rescue room along with my larger crates. I really like this size and plan to put several more of these small crates in the pet room. I see there are pink ones also. And I want one for my own cats because it seems to be a fantastic method for timeouts! Half a star off for not having a carry handle. Purely my hang up, since it's lightweight I can just as easily pick it up by sticking fingers through bars on top, but not too easy when a pet is inside. This was probably the easiest cage I've ever had to put together. It literally folds in on itself and I didn't even have to attach the door. Once I figured out which side had to go up first, it was a breeze. The pink color makes it really cute. Not just a wire dog cage. It is just a cage however. It doesn't have a carrying handle on top, and I'm not sure if it would hold together really well with a dog or two in it and carrying it around. But it is perfect for bed time or when you are training a new puppy or when you are gone. I have 2 yorkie girls and they both fit in it fine and had plenty of room. And the ease of folding it up flat to travel makes it perfect for a portable cage.krmills

Some dogs just don't quite fit into the size charts in the way other dogs do. Our dog Angel, a mountain cur, is one of those dogs. Weight wise, Angel is comfortably in the medium category but she's tall and lanky so she always had to hunch over in her medium crate. This larger crate is a perfect height for the needed room. While the width and depth is nearly enough to also add our smaller dog as well, it works great for Angel.Terri M.

We bought this product mostly because of the vertical lift feature of the door hinge and the two-door access options which is great for all sorts of configurations (against different walls, corners etc). We like the size and customizable interior of the XL crate for our growing puppy (husky/shepard mix). This is definitely an at home crate vs. care crate. The only issue we have is that compared to our first crate (same company, large single door, 2 locks) is that this crate is very rattly. We crate our dog during sleeping hours and every time he kicks in his sleep or adjusts, it makes a clangy metallic sound that wasn't expected. Would not recommend for the bedroom but would recommend overall.SanFrannylou

We bought this for our 6 year old dachshund and he absolutely loves it. It was relatively easy to assemble although the instructions could be better for those who struggle with “flat-pack” product assembly. It seems very sturdy and looks nice in our living room.DC

Kennel came in this morning, put it together with the worst set of instructions possible. They are hard to read and only labels with bubble numbers. Got the kennel together put our 50 pound pup in it. Left to run some errands. Came back he was still locked up but had destroyed the door, bent the wires. I just bought this kennel for my dog, it lasted 3 months. When it arrived I noticed right away that the quality was not as sturdy as our other kennels. The wires/ bars are thinner than what I would say is the norm. My other 2 are definitely thicker. This is already falling apart. 2 small bars are broken off and the bottom bar under the door detached from the frame leaving this basically useless and not safe for my dog anymore. There is no option for a replacement or discount to replace. Save your money and get a different brand.Sjm81

Cage came in a beat up box taped together, which could have been shipping company, but that's doubtful, read on. When we unpacked it appeared the cage had been used. The metal tray was bent on all 4 corners, we had to duct tape corners so it wouldn't cut our dog. The end side with door was so bent we had to get pliers and try to unbend just to get door to latch. It is still not flush. One of the bars on same door side was not even attached on one side, also had to duct tape that so it wouldn't poke into my dog. All the latches and where cage attaches together the metal was rubbed down to bare metal. I was in a jam and needed to use this so I have not contacted company but will NEVER buy from them again.Susan

I am a professional dog trainer who deals mainly with aggression problems in large breeds. Would I put a clients dog in this kennel…never…..it is not made for that purpose. It is rather flimsy, and noisy. However, it was just what I needed for my gigantic German Shepherd dog, as it provided the space he needed, and I knew he would never try to escape, fall over on it, collapsing the sides, or walk through the walls. Buy it only for crate trained animals, and dogs who will not test boundaries. It is not suitable for pups who are active. If you want a holding cell for a dog who just wants to lay around, and have a safe denning experience, this could be your crate.havahnjoel

Our 25 pound dog likes to jump on top of his crate. So this new crate is not up to that. He’s already broken it. Maybe this is not what the crate is designed for but still think it should last longer than a week. We purchased two of these kennels. Not because we have so many dogs as there are only two teacup poodles in our home, we’re planing on breeding them in another year or so thus we’ll be in need of separate quarters. These have a divider that can be used or not. For now we don’t need the division, but we may in a year… The kennels were easy to set up and all doors operated as designed. All in all we’re happy with our purchase and would recommend this model kennel.H Forrest

I use this in my office building for my French Bulldog, its a perfect size and the set I bought came with the little cushion that goes at the bottom. The 2 doors are nice so you can arrange it an way you want in your house it is very sturdy yet collapsible in case you need to travel a bit. The tray at the bottom slides out easily for messes ect. There is a warning on this product to only start the screws with a power screwdriver. My advice is to use a hand screwdriver ONLY. The holes are drilled too large for the size screws that are used where even tightening by hand will strip the hole. Also, the many of the holes where the screws are hidden by plastic plugs are drilled too large where I had to shim the holes to get the plugs to stay in. Sad, because the design is attractive and the size is perfect for our dog. So long as it stays in one place, it shouldn't loosen up. However if I do see it loosening, I will simply disassemble it, apply wood glue to the joints and screw it back together with clamps until the glue dries. The manufacturer should be held accountable by LTDC for correcting these issues!BobD8487

I guess I should have figured it was poor quality with the price.As other sites were more but they seemed bigger so tried but not a good choice.The holes didn’t all line up. A couple started to split. Didn’t use power drill like recommended probably would have destroyed it. Back panels are a very thin and if pushed on by dog will break or pop out. Latch doesn’t stay closed so dog could figure out how to slide it open. And if using in house as end table anything you put on it will scratch it or spot it. Looks cheap.The pressed board pieces have a dull & shiny side which all don’t match. Going to have to repaint it with a paint that will hold up and maybe a piece of real wood or veneer on top to make it look presentable. Not happy and was told if you had to return it I would have to pay shipping! No more ordering on line or from this company.Lyn10

Purchased the dog crate because it seemed functional but attractive. The crate actually is finished nicely. But as we were putting it together we realized one of the back panel was not included. At that point we had the crate almost completed. I called Lakeside to inform them. They had me to take apart the crate, box it and send it back to them. They told me they would then send a replacement crate after they received the defective crate. I only needed one back panel. They informed me that they could not send just a part. Seems they made me jump through hoops to resolve this situation. I won't buy anything else from Lakeside that has parts or needs to be assembled.Minnie2069

We have tried many Kennels/Crates for our dog, she suffers from Anxiety and nothing has kept her as safe as this kennel. Any metal kennel, regardless of how indestructible it has advertised to be, we have come home to a scraped up bleeding dog that is out in the house and destroying things. She is a pitbull and she chews through anything. The kennels that are plastic with the metal grates on the side she chews on the door and breaks the metal on the sides and at this point has ruined her teeth. We have put her in the Ruff Land Performance kennel twice, once for two hours, great success and once for an entire day. She was calmer, and no blood or destruction to the crate. Wish I had seen this crate 9 years ago. Another feature we like is that it has a flat floor, rather than one that is either metal grating or has a few round circles protruding to allow stacking of kennels. We are amazed and so thankful to have this crate. I would recommend this crate to any dog owner. I can't say enough good about it.Diana B

We tried the reinforced wire crates with no success. If he could get out, he would. The next step was possibly getting those ultra reinforced crates that cost almost a thousand dollars and almost require financing. This has been the perfect compromise. It’s sturdy and durable. It obviously has a little weight to it, but it’s definitely manageable. Hands down if something happens to this crate that isn’t caused by our dog, I’ll buy it again and again.Jennahboo92

My chabrador (chow-labrador mix) has plenty of space to turn around and lay down in this kennel. He is kenneled while I'm working, and he easily goes to lay down when it's time for me to leave in the morning. At night and on the weekends, my rat terrier likes to claim this kennel as her own spot. Very sturdy and fairly light weight. Not too wide, so it's easy to find a place to make space for this kennel.Shane

I like the crate but the condition was very poor. (I'll explain below.) The features I like the best are the two doors and that it is big enough for my cat to stand up in it and move around. It’s big enough to make a comfortable bed and add a water bowl. But if an adult cat wants to stretch out completely, including his tail, he won’t be able to, unless his tail is outside the cage. Someone had asked for the dimensions in the collapsed state. In the shipping box, it measures 25”H x 19”W x 4”D and weighs 14 lbs. It has to be collapsed to get it through the doorway of my medium sized 4-door car. But after it's through, and assembled, it leaves about a foot of seat left. Not only does that disqualify it for my original purpose, but it is too cumbersome to carry my cat(s) in it to the veterinarian’s exam room. There is no handle on top of the cage. I often wondered what the handle shaped wire was doing on the bottom of cages. It turns out its not a handle, but a lever, to keep the tray from sliding out of the crate. The assembly was super easy after I realized that there was a black metal divider holding down the short walls of the crate. I forgot that it had one and the instructions gave no indication that one was included. You have to stand the cage upright, and hold it there, while you remove the divider, and then pull up and lock the short walls into place. And speaking of the divider, I don’t think it is safe to use, unless you attach a permanent rubber sleeve, for each of the eight sharp hooks. The hooks protrude in one of the compartments, and this puts the animal in danger, during a rough ride in a vehicle or wagon. If the animal lands on the hooks during a sudden stop, or the cage falls over with the animal inside, the animal(s) would be bruised or punctured in the skin or eyes. Another option would be to take some pliers and close the ends inward towards itself. But in order to bend them, you’d have to decide whether you want it in there permanently. Once it is in there, you can’t use the side door anymore. If you used a rubber sleeve, then it would not only protect your pet, but those sharp hooks wouldn’t scrape the paint off of the crate, while you’re attaching it. In my opinion it’s better to let one adult cat or similar size animal have the whole crate to themselves. Keeping an animal that size in half the space for longer than 15 minutes would be callous indeed. For quality, I was disappointed in the condition of the crate when it arrived. I noticed that the wire frame was bent between the tray and the door, and there were multiple places on the cage, where the paint had been scraped off, while some spots were unprofessionally, painted over. When I called up the Carlson Pet Products, to get two questions answered, I told them the condition the product was in before I used it. A couple days later, a replacement came, but the whole of one side, was corroded. The box itself didn’t have water damage. And even though I was shocked that a customer would receive a product in this condition, I suspect that the company was unaware of the damage to their inventory.Laurie

This is not just a crate to put your pet into, this is a really nice black coated wire crate. It is 48 inches by 33 inches by 30 inches, and has a back plastic tray in the bottom for easy cleaning. The tray is not a thin plastic but gives good support when the pet is in the crate. When you receive it you will find it folded onto itself. After pulling the top section to the side you pull the unit up and you have the bottom with a tray and the back and front and the roof section all together. Now you pull up the end sections and you are done. Now for the best part, you have two very large doors, one on the end and one on the side and they are big enough to get in and clean up the cage, to change bedding and all that we do for our beloved pets. You will be so pleased with the double lock deadbolt style on each door. Most crates are probably used for dogs, but mine will be used for my cat. I needed an area big enough for my cat, his litter box, and food and water. My cat needs a safe place when I have work done in my house as he is scared of strangers and this will provide him his safe place when needed. I set it up in my living room for him to get familiar with it and it did not take long. I save the cardboard that the crate was shipped in to set it upon, until I can get a rug the correct size, this crate at a guess is between 35-45 pounds and is not that heavy but is big to move from place to place. I would recommend you set it up where it is going to be used. This crate is going to provide many years of safety for my cat at present and will be with for any future pets that come into my life. I appreciate the product as a well put together and can tell it is not a one time use, but is meant to be used through many pets. This huge crate for large dogs provides the dog plenty of quality-size, comfort space. Every dog should be able to lie down and stretch fully out to really be comfortable. It is very hard to find and get an extra large (XL) pet “carrier” shipped because shipping the plastic or resin carriers cost as much as the carrier due to shipping companies’ rules. So, XL are not made very much because of shipping costs. Therefore, the steel crate with bars and pan is the best solution for the extra large dog. Newspaper can be laid on the pan to keep fallen hair, and if the dog digs the paper a little, it can be changed. Hair can be vacuumed right off the paper using the weakest suction tool on a vacuum. Hair does not have to go all over. For the large pet who is very active inside the crate, activity could be controlled by hanging newspaper over two or three sides and the top. The dog will believe it is a solid wall and enjoy extra privacy. Also, possibly keep the very active dog in a carrier first to learn his/her boundaries and feel comfortable, then, the dog can get accustomed to the more open crate. The openness of the metal crate gives the dog more association with its people which helps pets get better socialized. It is less the private den than is the pet carrier, and the metal crate seems just like being out with the people comfortably all the time and makes less babysitting necessary for the people. Two doors are greatly convenient for rooms with different space areas. This crate unfolds well, yet when I lifted up the rear panel, it was held in place completely by only two bent metal tabs on the left and right top to keep it from falling back in, and the same for the front panel. On the sides, except for one metal tab of the twelve, all were open and work to keep the end panels from falling outwards, but not from falling in. Big dogs are strong and can bump things a little and those things can move a lot. Because I do not want my beloved dog to ever have the metal panel inadvertently fall in onto him, I must use strong metal hooks to hold the tops of the end panels, additionally in place, so they cannot ever go in on him. Then, I do not have to check the holding tabs every time I put him inside the crate in case he bumped the crate and popped a tab off. With time, if both end panels were to come off the tabs, the ends will fall in, and then the rest of the collapsible cage would collapse down on a dog. Therefore, with my nice strong hooks added, this is a sturdy, very well built cage, and with my care we both love it for a long, long time. Huge, and very, very happy!Maureen
