I have the small in gray for my 10 lb. Boston Terrier. I was reluctant to spend that kind of money on a dialog seat. So, the dog seat consists of shaped styrofoam, sturdy yet soft canvass cloth, and lambswool. I like the fact that you just set the booster on your seat, thread seatbelt thru the bottom of booster and click seatbelt in place. Then you put the cushion back down and attach 1 or both of the safety straps to your pet and your ready to go. There is plenty of room for another pet to! My daughter said now we can get another little Boston. It's really a bit too big for my Boston. The height that she sits at is great. It's the area size that's kinda big. I just give her a small blanket to cuddle up with. Taking the cover off to wash is not super hard, but you should be careful of the styrofoam. It's not junk styrofoam either. I have a 6 lb Papillon and and a 12 lb. maltipoo. They fit comfortably in this car seat and love it. They can sit up and see outside and they still have room to lie down together when they want to nap. The only thing I would change is I would make the tether that is designed to attach to their collar or harness a little longer. If you use it with a leash then it is so long that the dogs would still be thrown all over the car in a crash and they can still jump out and get tangled up. If you connect the tether directly to their collar or harness, they're immobilized because it is too short. I tried to buy a short extension for it but Petco doesn't offer one. For now, my dogs are untethered in the seat while I try to find a solution. Fortunately, they like it enough that they don't try to hop out but that doesn't fix concerns about a crash. That is absolutely the only thing I would change about this product. I'm optimisitic that I'll find a solution to the short tether and then it will be perfect.IndyDogLover

Needs more padding in bottom & should be padding covering metal bar. So far our furry babies seem to be very happy with their new "rides!" I have had the medium size Lookout II seat, with storage tray, for 4 1/2 years. My 5 year old, 17 lb. terrier/beagle mix dog uses it 1-4 times daily. She goes everywhere with me. Therefore the seat got a lot of use. The seat is still in very good condition. Just recently I had to add another piece of foam under the cover for her to sit on. The original foam was not comfortable for her anymore after 4 years of daily use…which is to be expected. I am still using the original cover. I wash it when needed and it has held up well. I just bought a second car seat to go in my husband's car so we don't have to keep moving it between cars. In the storage tray I am able to fit: small water bowl, small towel, leash, harness, roll of poop bags, extra collar with tags, plastic bag with medical data and photos if she gets lost, raincoat, reflective safety vest, bone and small treats. If I walk out of the house forgetting something, I know I have extras of all the basics in the storage drawer. Love that She could fit in the small size seat; but the medium size gives her room so she can lay down and sleep. Since it is so lightweight to carry, I take it out of the car and put it in the hotel room for her to sleep in while traveling. –Linda L
My dog had a Lookout Large Dog Car Seat for more than 6 years and I had to replace it. I was very disappointed I was unable to find the same size in the same model that I originally purchased. I purchased the large Lookout II Dog Car Seat with Storage Tray and it doesn't fit on my front car seat so I am using it in the back seat of a 34 year car and the seatbelts are not long enough to secure it to the seat, so I am disappointed in that. I had to purchase a different brand of seat to fit in the front seat for him. His mother uses the large one in the back seat.Patricia K

I was a little hesitant that this would fit out adopted dachshund mix, since she has such a long body. She is 18 lbs and likes to be squished a little so we ordered the small. She loves it! I used to drive with my yorkie on my lap which I know isn't safe and rather uncomfortable for me as well. I wish I had found this pet seat years ago, it's a game changer!! I was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews about the size but I bought the small and my 6.5 pound yorkie fits with plenty of room! I wasn't sure how he would be in it but he's super chill and looks very comfy! I also love that it's made in the US! The only thing I would say could stand some improvement is the clip on the leash…it's crazy hard to open(clip/unclip) and I struggle with it every time. My 14-pound Chiweenie loves his seat and the rack for food and snacks. The only thing that's problematic is my seatbelts don't "lock tight" unless you need to hit the brakes. The first time I realized he was out of his bed, I thought he had strangled himself because the strap should not have allowed him any leeway! Once I figure out how keep the seatbelts taught, it will be better. The height is perfect for Dublin to see out the windows and he sleeps like a baby the rest of the time. I use it in the middle seat in the middle row in my car because I don't want an airbag going off if he's up front and we were to be in an accident. For those who wonder, "Is the small big enough for my dog?" Dublin is a pretty long, short-legged Chihuahua-Dachshund, 14-15 pounds (depending on his snack intake, LOL ) and he has plenty of room. I would think this would work for any dog up to 18, or even 20 pounds. We traveled 900 miles over 3 days and he enjoyed every minute. We parked right in front of a restaurant we went to and he could see us through he window from his high seat and he was perfect.Anonymous

I purchased this for a long trip from Missouri to Nevada. Because you attach it around the seat and over the headrest, you can put it at any height you like. He didn't like it at first because he is used to roaming the car at will. With new laws in different states about dogs being restrained in cars, this was the PERFECT and AFFORDABLE option for our small dog. This is my second one. the first one I purchased was the leopard one and I wasn't too impressed with the clip used which is plastic but the overall quality of the seat is great. It's not terribly hard to hook up to the car but might take a little practice but well worth it knowing my dogs are safer. I purchased the second one, the houndstooth and got a great deal on Ebay. This one came with a pump to inflate it in areas where you would want more support. The other one is just stuffed, not air. The houndstooth one also has a metal clip for holding onto their harness and it's much better quality. I love both of them. I wouldn't take my dogs in the car without them.fetching_boutique
