Once we put it in the cage it did slide around a little but only bc the cage is larger than the pad. I am sure if you buy the exact size it should stay put. This bed has turned out to be the center of attention between my two boxers. One sleeps on it and the other will bark to cause a distraction. The one sleeping gets up to see what's going on and the one barking jumps into the middle to take the space. They love it. It is quite fluffy, but the center is starting to give a bit so they have "their spot". Both dogs will fit if they would move over just a bit, but that doesn't seem to be happening. I could not be more disappointed. My dogs are everything to me. I saved my money to buy them beds. The size is large/grande, the cover material is soft and nice looking. The cover also has a zipper so the stuffing can be removed and the cover washed in a washing machine. The stuffing is polyfill (the cheap stuff that is like thick cotton candy bunched up) and doesn't lay flat but can be moved around d to periodically fluff up. Our dog went through a phase of trying to come into our bed almost every hour during the night but since we got the snoozer, he has been staying there till morning again! It takes a little persuasion to get him in there but once he’s in and cosy, he settles in! I have the non orthopaedic bed which has a thicker mattress , I was disappointed with the mattress of the more expensive orthopaedic bed so emailed Snoozer to return the item with the intention of reordering . I have returned the bed which costs £14 as it is a stipulation of snoozer to send it via recorded mail, I’ve emailed them on two separate occasions to ask if they have received the bed and about my refund but no response. However I am getting emails frequently to leave a review!? This is the second Cozy Cave I have purchased, the original is 4 years old now and still as good as new but I have 2 chihuahuas who both love it and, although they can both fit in it, my little girl isn’t fond of sharing! My dog's favorite bed out of 10 and looks great wherever I place it. I bought a large and it's perfect. She is about 14 years old and it's not only great for resting, but she can jump off the bed onto it with minimal pain on her back, arthritic paws. These beds are not great, they're AMAZING….. They are literally the best purchase you can make as far as a dog's bed. Unless your dog just destroys their beds, these are perfect. You can wash them whenever you want, they're comfortable, my dogs absolutely love them. I have two black labs and a white German Shepherd, So I have all kinds of hair everywhere. And these beds catch a lot of that hair. It's awesome that I can go outside, shake them out, and then throw them in the washer and they're done. Over the years I've bought a lot of beds for my dogs, a lot of them tend to wear out over time, my younger black lab likes to chew on them and tear them up. My dog, little whippet Bertie, adores his cozy cave. It’s high quality, strong and durable feel. The ortho mattress give is a sense of stability/firmness (while also soft) which I think adds to both the comfort and the durability- it I can’t see how it would go lumpy like some dog beds . I received my cozy cave but I received package poorly. The foam was ripped and the cave itself where the plastic piece is was already falling apart. I sent pictures and emailed the company and they responded immediately! They shipped out a new one right away. I received the new one and it was in perfect condition but the foam was different than the original one I received. It is working quite well so far. But if you have a Vizsla you would understand that they get in and hide in things aggressively by digging and burrowing… I’m afraid the sides of the cozy cave are not going to stay sewn together long because the the thread on the edge is weak… otherwise I LOVE IT BUT I know it can’t withstand the pressure on the edges of the opening of the cozy cave. Somehow they need to try and reinforce this better. It is very supportive and my dog loves it however. But I’m not sure if it is worth the price. I absolutely LOVE how this bed looks! The sizing chart was pretty spot-on (I know it's hard to offer dimensions on something that's not perfectly rectangular). My dog loves it and uses it all the time, but I wonder how many dogs would be wary of it since it makes "crackly" noises when they walk on it. It's easy to vacuum, too, which is huge in my book. It's very lightweight, which is fine, except if I didn't have it wedged up against a chair (on a rug) it would slide all over. My old girl is 13, and drags her feet, so when she'd try to get on it, it'd move and shift, so I moved it to a place where it will stay put for her. In some of the images online it shows the bed on hard floors; that bed wouldn't stay put for 2 seconds! Also, and this isn't the bed's fault: since I got the cowhide version, that means my oily German shepherd leaves oil marks on the white parts, so of course it needs to be washed far more often than someone without an oily-furred dog (e.g., my parents' golden). My cocker uses this as a play mat in the living room. Since he is not allowed on the sofa or carpet, this pad is for him to sit/lay comfortably while he hangs out with the family. It's padded enough to keep him comfortable and happy on the hard ceramic floors of our house. I've noticed that it's not padded enough for him to sleep comfortably through the night. After 3 or 4 hours, he'll go to his plush bed to get real sleep. My dog loved the mat as soon at it arrive. He knew it was his right when I was taking it out of the box. The mat arrived quickly and packaged well. No damage and in perfect condition. Once I took it out of the plastic and set it on the floor, it was ready to go. As a play mat, it can't be better. it's stain and odor resistant. My dog has oily skin that tends to be on the smellier side and I don't really see it affecting the mat much. The mat is black so I can't see the oily shadow that would usually appear on other dog beds I buy for my dog. The bottom is slip resistant. My cocker sheds and I like that the hairs don't stick to it. I can easily vacuum the mat with the crevice tool on my vacuum. I've had it a month and other than the rawhide/saliva marks that are left on it after a couple long chewing sessions, the bed still looks new. I just take some water, a toothbruch, and baby wipes to the rawhide/saliva marks and after some light brushing and wiping, it's clean again. I want to get a smaller one for my car. Excellent product. Have Midwest brand crates for greyhounds and no previous crate beds compares to this one. I have four of these beds now and am very pleased with overall quality. Perfect fit, doesn't move around, dogs love the bumper sides, and can be made more nest-like with addition of soft blanket. This large doggie orthopedic sofa bed is the best bed I've bought for my boxer. He loves this bed. The first night of sleeping on this bed was the best night for me…why…because He didn't wake me up until 9am instead of 7:30 am to go out to potty. I believe he had a more comfortable sleep, also because he appeared to have more engery…jumping around like a Jack rabbit, circling around me wagging his tail as to say thankyou. The "cooling" side of the mattress is a lie. I know how cooling mattresses looks like and yours just have the color but not a cooling layer. My dog is very hot in his new bed during hot days and sleeps on the floor. Therefore, I feel cheated for having paid almost $50 for this bed. Also, the cover material is synthetic which naturally created heat and on top of a synthetic sponge creates a really too hot environment for my dog. The material is slippery so my elderly dog can hardly get up. The only reason I gave two stars is that the shape and height are good. Still, sizes you provide are inadequate and not a reflection of dog needs which is strange when Furheaven is in this business. My Yorki is a normal size. Yet, when I bought small which you recommend according to the size and weight chart as well as the sleeping area measurements you provided,he can fit well provided he is all the time in something like a fetus position and he doesn't move much. He cannot stretch or lie down in such a way so as to have at least an inch of space between himself and the sides of the bed. Dogs sometimes sleep in a stretched position and do need some extra space. Dogs also move during the sleep, swirl around, wiggle. So I had to get him a medium size which is really too big for him and the space where we keep it in our apartment but I am happy he has some extra space. Humans don't sleep in beds which are exactly their size. Standard beds even if a twin size have some extra space on all four sides because nobody stays in one position during the night. Why would it be any different for dogs especially when it's known that they sleep most of the time. I don't get it.Zenja B.
We absolutely LOVE this bed!!! It is extremely well made with separate zippered compartments for the bolster and bed padding. This makes it very easy to wash the cover and not the padding. I highly recommend the "Convoluted Orthopedic Foam" Mattress. As we live in California where the weather is warmer, the "Quilted" Cover material has been perfect all year round. This is actually our second bed that we bought. The first bed we bought for our an older dog who was starting to get arthritis and have back issues. We felt this bed greatly reduced his symptoms and made his last years much more comfortable. At a certain point we ordered a replacement cover for the first bed. It was still in such great condition when he passed that we could not get rid of it. Our new puppy found the bed and claimed it as her own. We decided to get a new cover for her along with another bed, so she had one in each room. We got the Medium size originally for a 35 LB older dog.
