My dog LOVES this car bed, and we really like it too! We needed a solution that would cover the back seat from hair but also allow us to keep the baby car seat installed. This is it! It was very easy to install and doesn’t slip around due to the bar that goes between the car seat cushions. It’s large enough for our 18lb dog and almost large enough for our 45lb dog but she loves small beds! We have purchased quite a few items from PetSafe over the years and have always been happy with the quality. The idea of it is cool. Our pup likes to go the park but I always take the older car. The gray color of this is nice and it doesn't look too bad with my new car interior. It secures to the headrest and seats. The bolster is quite firm and supportive but it isn't my favorite PetSafe item by far. While inserting the bolster, my fingers kept poking through the fabric. I've dealt with the same type of fabric before with other beds and never had an issue. Once I got it in there, the zipper was stretched to the max. I was sure it was going to be the first thing to go. It says this bed is machine washable but I wouldn't. The actual fuzzy part of the bed has a cushion you insert too but even with it, there's no "bed" at all really. Very thin materials. It's not holding up well so far. If you have a smaller dog that doesn't move around much in the backseat it may work better. I just don't think it holds up good for big dogs like mine. My wife's car has leather seats and we noticed that the bed slips all over the place. No grippers on the bottom at all. I can't really recommend it.semiller3

We use to use a sheet on the back seat when taking the dogs for car rides, it would move around and not really protect the back seat. This car dog bed was so easy to install and our dogs love it. After reading the reviews I was skeptical but I’m so glad I ordered the Snoozer Console despite some of the comments. I have a small 5 lb yorkie and I purchased the Small. To give perspective I have a Lexus NX and the small fit perfectly and was easy to install. I’m really not sure what some of the other reviews were complaining about. It’s really a no brainer installation. The carrier is luxurious and well padded with the benefits of keeping my little pup safe. She can look out the window while being close to me. Much safer than riding on my lap! And there is enough room for her to curl up and sleep too! So glad I finally took the plunge and ordered this!Cupcake the yorkie
The seat fits onto the console of my car, however the straps, particularly the one that goes onto the lid does not fit. The tongue of the buckle is adjustable, but the clip is not. Unfortunately, this results in not being able to close the lid. If both were adjustable, i could position the buckle under the lid so it does not prevent the lid from closing. If the front seats of the car were in a forwardmost position, they would work fine, however because both driver and passenger have long legs, the seats are positions a bit further back. This results in the console seat being pulled to the rear of the console and ends up with about 3" overhang on the back of the console — resulting in alot of shifting and movement of the seat. As a result, my dog is refusing to use the seat and I have no other solutions.Anonymous

We have owned these for both our previous dogs. They kept them safe when we were forced to slam on the brakes for various reasons. It let them feel more like part of the ride being right beside us too and they enjoyed riding more than being in the back seat. I bought this item a couple weeks ago for my crested mix. He is my rescue who didn't know what the outside world was, so when it came to car rides he would refuse to get in and once he was in the vehicle the poor guy would shake all the time. One day I held him up on my chest and noticed he started to shake less. The next car ride I had taken his dog bed and a pillow, stacked them on the passenger seat, he did ok kinda but would consistently try to come over to me in the driver's seat. The next car ride I decided to put his bed in between the front seats on the center consol. He became very curious of what was going on around him and bothered me less. Yet I felt he wasn't secure enough and constantly taking the dog bed in the house and out to the car was a hassle. That's when I look into the dog seats for the consol and came across this one. I absolutely LOVE how this bed looks! The sizing chart was pretty spot-on (I know it's hard to offer dimensions on something that's not perfectly rectangular). My dog loves it and uses it all the time, but I wonder how many dogs would be wary of it since it makes "crackly" noises when they walk on it. It's easy to vacuum, too, which is huge in my book. It's very lightweight, which is fine, except if I didn't have it wedged up against a chair (on a rug) it would slide all over. My old girl is 13, and drags her feet, so when she'd try to get on it, it'd move and shift, so I moved it to a place where it will stay put for her. In some of the images online it shows the bed on hard floors; that bed wouldn't stay put for 2 seconds! Also, and this isn't the bed's fault: since I got the cowhide version, that means my oily German shepherd leaves oil marks on the white parts, so of course it needs to be washed far more often than someone without an oily-furred dog (e.g., my parents' golden). That said…it's starting to look more worn and "real" because of the change in color 🙂Sarah d.
We have 3 dogs 69-75 pounds and they all love it. I got the original size which is huge, but they all want to lay on it to chew their bones…and they can! I just washed it for the first time. It washed beautifully. At first I thought it looked thin, but even when I sit on it I don't feel the floor. I wish the faux cowhide was a bit softer to the touch but the dogs love it as it. Purchased this bed for an upcoming 3 day road trip with my 16 year old poodle. Lipton is 8lbs and hasn’t traveled more than locally in the car. He loved it in the house and yesterday was our first car ride, a bit awkward at first but he settled right in. I have had this seat for almost a year now! It has changed our whole car ride experience, prior to this seat my dog would jump around the whole car like a wild person! Now all I have to do open the car door and he is in his seat comfortable, sleeps good in it! Long or short travel is now fun and safe for him. This seat has held up so well, I have bought similar cheaper ones but they cave within a month, I’m going on almost a year still looks the same and you can wash everything. This was my second high back console seat purchase. Snoozer car seats help to keep my small dog safe and secure as well as keeping her elevated so she can see all around. The seat was fairly priced and there were many fabric patterns to choose from. I had to contact customer service regarding a small issue which was resolved immediately. I used to drive with my yorkie on my lap which I know isn't safe and rather uncomfortable for me as well. I wish I had found this pet seat years ago, it's a game changer!! I was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews about the size but I bought the small and my 6.5 pound yorkie fits with plenty of room! I wasn't sure how he would be in it but he's super chill and looks very comfy! I also love that it's made in the US! The only thing I would say could stand some improvement is the clip on the leash…it's crazy hard to open(clip/unclip) and I struggle with it every time. My 14-pound Chiweenie loves his seat and the rack for food and snacks. The only thing that's problematic is my seatbelts don't "lock tight" unless you need to hit the brakes. The first time I realized he was out of his bed, I thought he had strangled himself because the strap should not have allowed him any leeway! Once I figure out how keep the seatbelts taught, it will be better. The height is perfect for Dublin to see out the windows and he sleeps like a baby the rest of the time. I use it in the middle seat in the middle row in my car because I don't want an airbag going off if he's up front and we were to be in an accident. For those who wonder, "Is the small big enough for my dog?" Dublin is a pretty long, short-legged Chihuahua-Dachshund, 14-15 pounds (depending on his snack intake, LOL ) and he has plenty of room. I would think this would work for any dog up to 18, or even 20 pounds. We traveled 900 miles over 3 days and he enjoyed every minute. We parked right in front of a restaurant we went to and he could see us through he window from his high seat and he was perfect.Anonymous

This bed is amazing for so many reasons. My cat doesn't usually take to beds purchased from pet supply stores or big box stores because they smell like other animals, even after several washings. Slides all over the place on leather bench seat. There are small rubber grips on the bottom but doesn’t grip at all. I also connected with the seatbelts hoping that would help stabilize it, that didn’t help. My 65lb lab liked it until the bed slipped forward and he was laying in a pit.
