I just received my cat carrier today. It is sturdy and well-equipped. It has the regular carrying handles and it also has a large shoulder strap with ample cushioning on it. It opens from the top or there is a flap on the front of the carrier if you prefer to put the cat/dog in that way. Our cat has only been in a cat carrier one time and there was a lot of "fighting" just to get her into it. I suppose this one would be no easier to load a cat/dog. The carrier is black with mesh sides and front and there is a short leash attached to the inside, if needed. I wish it was a nicer color though. Our cat is also black, so it will be harder for us to see her once we put her inside. The carrier looks and feels very strong and durable though. I have been wanting to get a small pack for our pup but a lot of options where too big for her. We do a lot of desert hiking and bigger packs don’t help with the heat. It’s perfect size for baggies, some treats and small pet first aid kit. It attaches easy to her harness and the buttons lock in nice and tight. There are also small section pockets inside to keep things in place. If I could adjust the straps that would make this completely perfect as it bounces a bit but it doesn’t seem to bother her.
