The only reason why I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because it took a little longer than expected for these to kick in. My dog has terrible anxiety and when it storms, she shakes and pants heavily and just paces everywhere. Sorry not a review but a question. Sounds like this works well but I have a horrible time keeping my Shepard from licking his wounds. Even though my dog will eat the Omega bites, I still have to crumble them up in his food (they are soft so it's very easy to do). He can be very picky so I am figuring they must taste pretty good and not smell bad or he wouldn't eat his food with it in there. So that's a big win!! I will start off by saying that my senior dog, London, can be picky about her treats and she really enjoyed the Zesty Paws Senior Advanced Omega Bites. I haven't seen a huge transformation in her skin or coat, but I feel like a supplement like this takes at least 3 months to show results. I do like that it has omegas, collagen, and flaxseed. I wish it didn't have pea powder but that's better than lentils. I adopted an older girl from our local shelter. From what we could tell, she had been on the streets for a long time, but seemed healthy. I wasn't sure if this was what caused the diarrhea initially so I took her off this for a couple days and added it back into her water after she recovered, she proceeded to have diarrhea again the next day. I read before I bought this product, that some dogs don\'t like the water after you add this. So at first, my dog drank the water but then she stopped. She would come up, smell it and walk away. I had to buy a spray bottle to properly apply it. Note: The product may stain. I used it anyway because I did not want the puppies to destroy my sofa. Also, I had to reapply it until my puppies learned that my sofa tastes bad and puppy chew toys taste good. Prior to the puppies, I used Grannick's Bitter Apple on my older dog. He developed a hot spot on his leg. I sprayed his fur around the hot spot, not on the hot spot itself. It worked very well in stopping him from licking that spot.VinTiff2021
You have to do more than just ONE spraying I have two 9 month old Staffordshire Bull Terriers that will eat chew thru anything! Of Couse love my slippers. I took my slippers and spayed heavy where they would pick them up. Then the next day spayed again. Worked! When you spray this stuff it does not leave water marks or anything. I even sprayed my fav pair of suede leather Merrils to protect them. Now I am having to spray blankets on the bed, yep they chew thru these. Leaves no smell to me unless of Course just done and put my nose to the item. Just in case- some of my fav slippers that I now leave on the floor just in case I give them a light spray once a week or so. These bottles are large and the liquid goes a long ways.giving you Lots of treatments. So if the first sprays do not work have some common since and spray again. My avid little mouser cat caught herself a little prize just a few days before a month-prior planned trip my husband and i were unavoidably about to go to. Apparently that mouse had bitten her back in the process, right on her tender little lip cleft! Before we knew it, that bite had gotten infected so bad she became lethargic, her face swollen an angry shade of red, she could not eat or even drink on her own and she could not even close her mouth and was drooling on herself. Because of the covid situation and proximity of timing to our trip to see family, there was no way to get her to a vet in time before we had to leave in 3-4 days. So we did the best we could with a dropper to feed and water her and rushed out to get Vetericyn to help stave off the infection which reduced the angry redness to a healthier pinkish. For the very few days we had before we had to go, I was keeping her hydrated and was spraying her face with the Vetericyn regularly (as directed) even as we headed out the door with one last treatment. We did cut our weekend trip short by a day out of concern for her, but when we came back she was doing significantly better in that the swelling was down, but was reddened again. Back to the spray treatment, make sure she got dropper-watered, and by that evening she was gingerly back to parking in her 'askance' spot hoping for bits of our chicken dinner! Using this for hot spots on my canine, this stuff does work but it sometimes can take up to 2 8oz. Bottles to heal the area's treated. Not sure if it's the strength of medicine or just those stubborn spots. I caught the spots early on and started treating them immediately and have been treating them for a month now and they are getting better but slowly, these things are stubborn. I can say that absolutely nothing else I tried worked. Believe it or not, I read online the other day that rubbing Pepto Bismol on hot spots actually works, you heard right, Pepto Bismol. I haven't had the nerve to try it as I thought it could just be some nut trying to infect your pet even worse. I agree with the other reviewer, who said they are too thick! I have to give away 1/2 the bag, because they’re too thick for my Havanese! The package says he needs a small, for his size, but he just can’t chew the big thick ones. I’ve resorted to buying the Petite, a time or two. Those are a completely different item. Sort of a compressed stick. However, those are gone in two chomps! I’m trying to find a different solution, all together, but I still want a chew type dental stick. Not greenies, type, though. My dogs loves these, and they keep their teeth very clean. I know people get nervous with rawhide, but the trade off is worth it. These chew chips are coated with enzymes that clean the dogs teeth extremely well – and apparently it makes my dogs obsessed with them too. Because they love the taste, they actually CHEW them and don't immediately swallow them (the normal issue with rawhide chews). I've recommended these to all my dog owner friends and haven't received a single bad review yet. The trick is they need one of these day. There are 30 in a bag. So about a bag a month (depending on how quickly they finish the chew, my greyhound does one of these in a day no problem). It comes out to be about $200 a year, which for me has proven to be worth it, especially with a greyhound as greyhounds have notoriously bad teeth. My beagle/mut loves them too. Horrible to my cat, that is! First let me start by saying that I thought I was adopting a kitten, but I actually got a wee beastie that is part kitten, part mountain goat, part fox, and a tiny bit of dog thrown in. Her favorite snack seems to be electric cords. Especially those that are plugged in to a wall. I was terrified she was going to electrocute herself so I bought this spray hoping it would work. Bought this from Petco on 02182022. Sprayed it on two items our mini dachshund pup has been attacking. The attacks stopped immediately. It has no smell when wet or when dry. One warning: wear rubber gloves when applying! My granddaughter and I both got it on our hands and despite several hand washings, we both got yucked at supper time. Also, spray the items outdoors or in the garage, away from anything that someone might touch. One of the pup's Kong squeaker balls caught some of the overspray. Now she is avoiding ALL her toy balls. Also, while wearing your gloves, wipe off anything that might come in contact with dogs or humans. We sprayed a cheap plastic basket our grandkids were using to store small toys. Even though we dried the basket, the toys still picked up some yuck. The kids hands then got contaminated. And then all kinds of things got yucky. Bought this spray from Petco hoping it would deter my puppy from chewing on furniture, shoes, etc. From just one spray I could taste it in my mouth just from breathing. Got a little on my hands, washed my hands immediately and 2 days later I could still taste it on my hands. This spray was completely ineffective! It seemed to not even bother my nearly 1 year old puppy. By all accounts I could've soaked the items not wanting to be chewed in a bucket of a Fooey, an it would've had no effect. This spray works but only if you are training a puppy/dog on being better at not chewing but nothing permanent (atleats that what it has done for me). My puppy hates the taste even the smell (she can smell it) even though it has no smell. She usually stops chewing or miss behaving (shes kinda scared of it) the moment i spray this on the object or just let her smell it. I did try as it says on the bottle to spray (like once) the objects and puppy/dog will stop, that did not work completely. I started spraying things like every few hours to get my puppy to stop completely and that was too much. We actually have the senior advanced bites but j didn’t see them available to review. Our pooch seems to love them. We have used the one in the envelope a few times and that led us to purchase the bigger tub size. although we can’t physically see a difference I have no doubt they seem to be working and apparently are tasty. They seem to be pricey for 90 count but if you give one a day that is about $12 or so a month which is extremely reasonable to me! My dog had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics he was on after having a few teeth pulled. The itch was driving him crazy. Sorry not a review but a question. Sounds like this works well but I have a horrible time keeping my Shepard from licking his wounds. Even when I cover them he trys to get the bandage off to get at them. It says this provides some pain relief, so I'm hoping that will discourage the licking. I had high hopes for this collar as my older dog has a chronic condition and we are all very tired of his cone bumping into all of us and the whole house, and so is he. But, despite measuring and it appearing to fit exactly as described in the instructions, he had NO TROUBLE getting to the growth on his underside. Complete waste of time and money. He may as well be wearing a sock. We tightened everything to the point of it being uncomfortable for the dog and still he just reaches around like its nothing. The Bite Not collar slowed my pup down from licking his neutering surgery, but didn’t entirely stop it. He is very flexible, so could wrap himself around to lick. The collars are very well made. Our elderly mini Schnauzer has become more anxious as she's aged. She reacts to smart phone alerts, loud people, quick movements, etc. Over the past 5 years, I've tried several CBD products and a prescribed medication from the vet. None of the CBD products had a noticeable effect and the vet medication made her act like a drunk who was angry at finding herself drunk. Then . . . a month before July 4, I see an ad for VetriScience. My first thought was "why bother", but the price wasn't overly high so I bought a bag. Our Isabel was much calmer and less reactive to noises that usually irritate. Plus she snarfs those bacon flavors nuggets up when offered. It's not perfect. We rescued our third Dobie and she’s very anxious. We’re trying not to put her on prescription medications, if possible, so we decided by recommendation from other club members to try this first. I’ve definitely noticed it works to an extent a period of time. It’s progress, so I’m happy. I just want to make sure that she’s happy and not too anxious whenever it thunders or we have to leave her alone, but that is rare. I would recommend trying this for your dogs if they’re having these issues too. It’s easily available, but I ordered it on Amazon so I received it quickly and got points for my purchase. My dog simba was rescued from the streets of Puerto Rico. Then he lived in a rescue for a while. New stimulus can make him super anxious. I was hoping this would be the product to make exposure to these stimuli less frightening.I was so excited to receive my first bag, I ripped it open and went directly to Simba. The excitement stopped there. First off, my dog didn't want to eat the treats as a treat. He refused to eat it alone. I had to hide it in his food. After eating it he became super lethargic with no other symptoms that I had noticed at the time. So thinking the treat was working too well, the next day I halved the recommended dosing for his weight. Later that day I noticed hives and a large nasty rash that spans over his entire back. My baby has never had issues with allergic reactions but something in this product triggered it. This was the only new addition to his routine and environment. It's been a few days since the discontinuation of the product in conjunction with antihistamines and antibiotics and his skin hasn't fully recovered nor his energy.
