I've had other harnesses in the past and whilst they fit my English Staffordshire around the body I found they got to a point where they were difficult to get on and off over his big lump of a head . I have a 70lb Xoloitzcuintli (Mexican Hairless). I purchased both the Hurtta Cooling Coat and the Swamp Cooler Dog Vest by Ruffwear. Both are made from similar material and work the same way. The Hurtta coat has much more coverage, has extended hind end flaps and front chest flaps, resembles a horse jacket. Whereas the Ruffwear is more of a fitted vest. I would have given the Hurtta Cooling Coat 5 stars however, the stitching that secured the chest strap isn't reinforced and tore out of the material the first time used. I then outfitted the dog in the Ruffwear Swamp Vest, which worked beautifully. Since my dog is hairless it was easy to feel how well the vest worked. Placing my hand on exposed skin, then touching skin under the vest, there was a noticeable difference in temperature however his skin was dry – just cooler. I have stitched the Hurtta strap back on and feel it will be equally as good if not better than the Ruffwear due to it's increased surface area.Laura
Got a *very similar* Puppia mesh harness for my chi that was adjustable on the shoulders rather than pulling over her head. The harness was comfortable on her and held up well, but the buckles on the shoulders just made it too bulky. So I would definitely recommend the ones without the extra buckles.

Four of my dogs are huge beasts that have special harnesses that they wear when I take them for a walk; it allows me to feel confident that they are under control (especially if they see a cat roaming around) and I know that even if they start pulling on the leash they aren't going to get the air choked out of them. For my small dog I needed something that he wouldn't be able to wiggle out of; he is a true escape artist and this harness is the only one that he has never been able to get out of when we've been on walks. It is soft and comfortable on his body and he still has a full range of motion when it is on him; getting it on and off of him takes about a minute if he isn't jumping around and excited when he sees me pull it out of the hall closet. One of the best things about this harness is that I don't have to take his neck collar off when I put this on him; he still has his registration and vet tags on him so if he should happen to pull a disappearing act at least I know that if someone finds him they will know that he is indeed a pet and not a stray. I originally got this in gray but opted to get a second one in orange so that he is easier to spot if we go for a walk in the evening. If I am walking to the store in the evening I usually put the orange one on him so I can see exactly where he is in relation to my feet so I don't accidentally step on him. The harnesses are machine washable and have help up perfectly since I got them. I know that when he is wearing one there's almost no chance that he will be able to wiggle his way out of it and that when he starts pulling on the leash when he gets excited he isn't putting undue pressure on his neck or throat.AlexFortune
We have five small dogs and all of them love this harness. When I found these online I was so excited to find a harness that is designed with both comfort and function in mind. These harness are so much nicer for the dogs to wear. The soft fabric and the shape of the harness is much more comfortable for our dogs to wear then the thin harnesses you find in the store. The thinner harnesses would cut into our dogs armpits and cause discomfort. These harnesses provide nothing but comfort. Another plus for the Puppia harness is how easy it is to put on and take off. Our dogs basically step right into them on their own. With regular harnesses they are tight and we have to battle with them. The fabric is breathable and light allowing airflow but they are also sturdy and keep the dogs secure. The only problem that we face with them is the non adjustable neck. Although the chest can be tightened the neck cannot so if you have a dog that is in between sizes you have to go up a size and the neck is a bit big. This is the case for two of our dogs. Where is it not a problem for one of them the other one tends to get her leg through her neck and eventually make her way out of it. That is the only down side I have for these harnesses. If you plan on getting one measure your dog carefully and enjoy choosing one out from all of the amazing colors and patterns! There are so many great choices it is hard for me to resist buying several for each of our dogs 🙂trinnym

I gave this leash 2 stars because the concept/design is excellent, and for the first 2 miles of our first time using this leash my 88lb Lab was so much easier to walk. He did not pull as frequently, and when he would begin to pull it took very little effort to correct him. I think he enjoyed not having any pressure around his neck, as when we walk with a training collar. We've most frequently been using the "Friendly Leader" head harness, which gives me some measure of control, but he dislikes it. After using it a couple of times he worked out a lightening quick maneuver to unlatch it, an ongoing entertainment now during walks! Needless to say I LOVED using this leash, and my dog was happy too. We purchased the reflective orange size LG. The leash was easy to fit, is soft, and the reflective option is super for walking at night. I was very disappointed when about a half mile from home the loop detached where it had been spliced into the leash, becoming a little stump of rope dangling from the leash. In an instant I went from having perfect control and security of my dog to having a loose dangling length of leash wrapped around his back legs! I managed to tie a few knots as I looped the long length of leash around my dog. Fortunately he was a good sport about it, and blessedly we ran into no "distractions" during the last half mile of our walk, during which he quickly reverted to bulldozer mode being fast to realize nothing was tightening around his chest. I will be sending the leash back tomorrow for a replacement. Because no other reviewer mentioned their leash came apart, I will try one more time, with the hope that the quality of this product is generally much better than the leash we received which fell apart during our very first use. My dog seems to like this leash. In the heat/humidity of the low country, this is much better than his having to wear a harness. On the other hand, he is not too happy that he doesn't have the free rein he had with his old leash that gave him 16 feet of running space so he could easily sniff and water everything he believed had been previously marked by other neighborhood dogs. It does take a couple of minutes to figure out how to wrap it all around him, but he seems fine with that, and I am getting much better and quicker at getting him safely ensconced so he can go and check to make sure the neighborhood is safe for democracy. This leash does fray easily, and I have to burn off the fraying every couple of days – not a problem, hold it over a flame on the stove and the fraying disappeared almost instantly. My dog weighs 17 pounds, and it fits him nicely – it supposedly will fit on a dog up to 40 pounds, but if so, I don't know if it would give the dog enough room to roam. The instructions also say the rubber disk will rise and fall. That has not been my experience, maybe because my little guy is on the smaller side (he is a bichon). I bought this for my 3 year old pit/lab mix who has more muscle than he knows what do with. He’s a huge puller and stubborn, he only listens when he wants to. When taking him out and other people/dogs pass by, he would go crazy, sometimes making it very hard for me to even hold on to him. One night I got home from work and he was so happy to see me, he slipped out of his collar while my boyfriend was taking him out to potty. Knowing he is a runner, this terrified me; he would be gone. So I ordered this at the suggestion of my grandmother and he is a changed dog. He no longer pulls me at all. He can’t get out of this lead. I am more or less happy with this product but think the velcro that goes around the front of the chest is on wrong as I have had to fasten it behind rather than in front. It is ok now I have adjusted it a lot of times to get it fitted right. Apart from that, this is a strong product and helps to control my dog well. The rest of the harness is great. I have a pit/lab mix, and he hasn't been on many walks, even though he needs to to cut down a few extra lbs. I looked at the sizing chart, and he was right in between the 2 sizes, so I went with the bigger one because I wanted him to be comfortable. I dont know if size had anything to do with it, but I couldn't get it to lay flat on him. It comes with several adjustment spots, so I can make sure it fits him good. He seems to really like it, as compared to other harnesses we have used with him. The material is nice and padded, it seemed very comfortable for my dog. The leash attachment is also in a really good place to pull at his chest and not his neck. In the time using this, I have not noticed any issues with the zipper or with the quality. This is a great harness because it is breathable and doesn't make my dog too hot. It also packs up into a small package that can be attached to a bag by the included caliber clip. It looks like a great dog halter. This is the third halter I ve gotten for my cairn terrier mix. This one looks like he might not be able to escape. Unfortunately, it is way too small for my dog. There is only one size smaller, and I expect it is too big, also. The receipt was illegible, and I have no idea how to send the halter back. I plan to donate it to the animal shelter. I am still looking for a halter he won t escape from.
Wrong size. Trying to exchange it. The sizes are not correct. They fit large.
The harness isn't working for me but I can't send it back. My dog is a male and the back strap rides directly over his, uh, spout. He soaked it pretty good the first time out so we have to keep it. But he didn't like it either – it is pretty heavy and made him overheat. Might work for winter but I have to figure out how to modify the back strap so he can pee free.

Super cute and unique. Has held up well for a puppy Cane corso. The white flowers get dirty, but we throw it in the washer & dryer, no problem. No complaints at all. The metal rings are super sturdy. If I had choice, I would have liked for the closure to be metal too. But it has held up well, no fraying or coming apart at all. We've probably washed it 4 times in a month

It is very difficult to purchase a properly fitting harness for my dog. He is not broad shouldered and has a long, somewhat narrow torso relative to his overall size. I decided to follow the sizing chart and it fits him very well. The harness is a bit lower profile than others he has had previously, but it's easily the best fitting one he's had to this point.
