My dog suddenly got a horrible skin rash and I decided to try these natural chews. First of all, she didn’t like the taste, but she is VERY finicky. Secondly, when I did get her to take them, she wouldn’t take as many as she was supposed to, so they didn’t seem to help her much. I received the chews and immediately gave my puppy 2 of them. She really liked them, she itches. most of the time. But the vet says she needs some type of injection to stop it completely. I don't like to give my puppy any shots but her yearly Injection for rabies. The idea of just 5 ingredients is a great idea. This review is for the oven baked paw’some peanut butter. Looking at the ingredients list: oats, peanut butter, dry whey, canola oil and natural flavor. Everything looks pretty harmless except for “natural flavor”, not sure what it really means but I will give them benefit of a doubt. But because one of my dogs is prone to cysteine stone he is unable to try this treat, he is on a restricted diet. So this review is base on my other dog’s reaction, she is a picky eater but love treats! The first time I handed her the treat she just sniffed it, did not take the treat. That’s already not a good sign, but maybe she just don’t want the treat at the moment (sometime she has mood swings). We tried new treats all the time when she sniff it and like it, she takes the treat right away. So my hope for this treat decreases. After some time passed I tried handing her the treat, again sniffed it but did not take it. Before giving up on the treat I did tried again with no success 😕. My final verdict for this treat is that it’s probably not for picky eater and not for dogs prone to cysteine stones. I really love the idea of using simple real Whole Foods. It is hard to find pet foods/treats that truly uses Whole Foods. Most pet products have ingredients that we either can’t pronounce or simply don’t know what it is. I really hope Merrick will make treats for dogs that are prone to cysteine stone or pets that have diet restrictions.miss.s
With only a few ingredients, this treat easily passed my ingredient inspection (it is shocking how many dog treats have unsafe ingredients in them!), and my dog quickly took to them! I put them inside of treat dispenser toys and they pose a nice challenge for my dog to work on. My Boston can only eat the Purina gastro food. If not he has uncontrollable diarrhea. With these snacks he has no problems! My dog is only aloud to eat these snacks and the gastro food. I read the reviews before purchasing Merrick's Real Beef Jerky, and everyone loves them. Great; let's give them a try. Beef Jerky in my mind is chewy and I was expecting the dogs to have a bit of something to chew on. Not so much. This Beef Jerky is soft; as in two pieces in the bag had already come apart. I had to use these as training treats because they couldn't even stay as a whole piece to give my dogs. My dogs went crazy over this jerky, it is just not what I was expecting. There is 100% something different than when I started buying these 3 or 4 years ago. They used to have a great fresh quality to them that my dog couldn't resist and he is very picky. I mean super picky as most spoiled dogs are. Some short time ago the treats became darker, brittle, musty and just generally old looking. My dog will not eat these anymore. I try to shop the bags and see if I can find a bag that's fresh but the quality is the same and my dog doesn't eat them anymore. I usually give them away to a dog less spoiled (lol) I do spoil my dog because you spoil the ones you care about. Short Shelf Life! I thought these treats were so cute. But we just got them at Christmas and they have mold all over them! They are not supposed to expire until next year, and the package doesn't say they need to be refrigerated or anything. I have never had this happen with other treats.Kim

I have tried at least 20+ different treats for these dogs. They were big on the Bacon stuff in the blue bag but I didn't like how it seemed they were on drugs with that product. These dogs would cry for them and then refused their normal food. Not a fan of that. So I stumbled across an article on grain free for dogs, and tried this treat. These little guys are fans, they are still well behaved when they receive them, they still get excited to see them (great for reinforcing the training and obedience piece), and they can eat these and then their regular food immediately after. I've been buying these biscuits from Petco (love Petco) for awhile. She loves them and is always asking for one. These are a good nutritious dog treats for all breeds. It helps with your fur baby's skin and coat. Each nugget is filled with Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids and filled with added Zinc for their coat. For your small breed, I suggest reading directions before treating your pet. It directs 1 treat or nugget per 10lbs. I wouldn't recommend giving your pet anymore than suggested or directed. Switched to food to manage a sensitive stomach (diarrhea). Treats worked as a great companion to the food. My rescue loves them. I have had 2 different kinds-one bag of thin extremely had ones that could not be broken, and another bag of more standard thickness ones that could be broken smaller. Woodee just loves all the treats we get from natural paws, especially the duck feet. He does eat his dry food, Zignature, from there also. I’ve never had an issue buying online or going into Springwoods location. I’d prefer to go into the location itself because the people that work there are very nice, friendly and knowledgeable and they just love Woodee too. What I loved about the peanut butter & blueberry dog treats is that the ingredients are very minimal and they don’t have any extra additive that other dog treats may have. My dogs loved the treats. However, it feels like a small rock and I was worried my chihuahua wasn’t gonna be able to eat it. However, he licked it a couple times and it got a little softer until he could finally eat it.
