So disappointing, just everything about it. Our kova plus ottoman was in stock and supposed to arrive in 2 weeks. It kept getting delayed and ended up taking a month, leaving us without a couch for two weeks. You have to schedule a delivery after the item is delivered to wherever, so that’s an additional waiting period. Our couch arrived damaged and customer service has been abysmal. They requested so many photos, as if they thought we had purposefully damaged it. They offered $100 refund for a 7 inch gash that goes all the way into the now broken wooden frame. Either that or a replacement piece where we are responsible to ship back the damaged piece. It was sooo hard to put together, and it’s not perfectly together still, but it was the best we could do. We’re also super disappointed with how uncomfortable the couch is. We expected it to be very soft but the cushions are stiff except the ottoman and slide all over the place. We were skeptical to purchase this couch based on the reviews (we didn't see it in person) but went ahead because it was such a great deal for our first apartment. We received our couch in the beginning of July 2020 and it still looks really nice in January 2021. The couch is also incredibly comfortable to lounge and sleep on, though it is not very deep. It is chenille, which I didn't realize, but it looks very nice and has held up well to our two new kittens climbing all over it and trying to use it as a scratcher. I would say that the color is true to the listing photos. It is long enough to fit three grown men comfortably or four adults squeezed in. My three small complaints: Wish it was just two or three inches deeper. Wish the arm rests were just a few inches higher, they aren't very good for leaning on. The pillows it comes with are useless and hard. They feel like they belong on a patio. Just make the couch $10 cheaper and save the fabric and pillow filler lol.Katie
I was a little hesitant to purchase furniture at Big Lots. I purchased the sofa for the living room, which we don't really use. I got tired walking through the empty room. I just wanted to make it appear normal. I am very happy with my purchase. It fits te room perfectly and is a reasonably priced, decent piece of furniture. I purchased 3 couches; within 1 year the fabric split all the way down between cushions and back cushions splitting from back piece (not sewn well), frames cheap pine construction not hardwood (2 of couches have broken frame; I had them fixed and a month later they broke again/ cannot use them). Seat cushions don't have fabric on both sides which means they aren't washable or flippable. This brand has gone down hill !! And the Big Lots recliner foot piece won't lock anymore when in sitting position. I hate leaving poor reviews but want to save others from throwing their money away.miss independent

My biggest issue was that it is not 74 inches in length as advertised. I measured it at 70. Really more like a loveseat. I am so disappointed with my purchase. I wish I would’ve read all the one star reviews prior to completing this. My couch was delivered damaged with the back separated from the frame with visible staples showing. I showed the delivery guys and said I don’t want to except this couch which I was told I could do when I purchased the couch and the delivery guys refused to take it! Then when I called the customer service number they said they couldn’t get anyone out here for months. I Purchased the couch last August and a repair person couldn’t come out till October. Besides it being delivered it creeks it cracks it sounds like the frame is going to break at any moment. And the color looked like a light gray in the showroom and it’s sandstone/more of a light beige. With all these horrible reviews with similar complaints I don’t understand why Ashley furniture continues to sell this couch? Even though I am under store warranty as well as havibg the third-party warranty I’m still left with a broken couch. My wife and I purchased this sofa along with an ottoman and an oversized chair. We initially fell in love with it in the store, but we were totally disappointed with what we were delivered. After about 1 week of having the furniture all of the material shifted and rippled. It wasn’t stretched properly over the frame. The sofa arm padding is all lumpy and uneven. In some spots it is even missing padding. It was as if the factory worker was putting this together with his eyes closed. The ottoman cushion has totally shifted off the top of the piece. The customer service has been terrible with helping us. They basically tell us that our limited 1 year warranty is useless and that all of the problems we are experiencing with the sofa is normal wear and tear. Very disappointing especially since we have only had the sofa for 4 months. For what we paid for this, we should have gotten something better. Watch out for Ashley Customer Service. I purchased this couch in October of 2020. We love the style, the material and the overall look. The back of the couch takes a bit of getting use to if you have always had a couch with a higher back. I have several throw pillows and my couch is against the wall. If you want to lean your head back we put a cushion between us and the wall. The couch is deep which makes sitting cross-legged very comfortable. It is long enough that you can turn to have conversations with others on the couch. You don't have to sit looking forward all the time. Three adults fit on here easily. The arms of the couch are wide and low enough to lean against. I also love the fact that the seat cushion is one long cushion. Nothing will be falling into the cracks. The biggest con of this couch is the feathers. The two throw pillows that come with the couch have feathers as well as the bottom cushion. Periodically, I have to pluck the feathers that are half in-half out of the couch. Also, be aware the couch sits low. We looked at the specs, we knew it was lower, but until you sit on it, it is a bit surprising how low it actually is. I would give this couch 5 stars but the plucking of the feathers is a bit annoying. Please, don't misunderstand, it is not an enormous amount of feathers. I say I have pulled about 10 since October but I really did not think I would have to worry about feathers coming out. And one other thing, if you have asthma or allergies, be aware of the feathers. My niece came over, she sat on the couch, and her asthma was set off. As far as packaging, delivery and service, Poly & Bark was great. I've had my sofa for less then a year and the armrest broke when I leaned on it. Unbelievable! My parents have had their livingroom set (not this one) for about 20 years. Everyone sits on the armrest 200+lbs and they have not broken. Yet I make sure Noone sits on the armrests and it broke when I leaned. We purchased this sofa in January 2022. We've had it for 3.5 months and it's just awful. The seat cushions constantly move forward and slide out of place. We had to buy 2 small rug pads to put under the cushions so they would stop sliding. And after just 3 months, the cushions are starting to sag. So much to the point that when you sit or lay down, your back ends up rubbing against the wooden beam in the frame that is only covered by the thinnest piece of black fabric. We are trying to get a refund but they don't offer that after 30 days. This sofa just wears really terribly and the day grey material gets really hot in the summer.FrancescaB
I had been wanting a particular couch and love seat and wanted the couch to have the pull out sleeper. I was told by stores I contacted that they could order that for me but it could take months before it would come in. I had to have it as my new apartment only had one bedroom and I had to make room for company. Imagine my excitement when AFW in Katy had exactly what I wanted right in the store!! We like the height, firmness and most everything about it. Haven't tried sleeping on it as we just got it today. It gives us more floor space than our hide-a-bed model which is super nice. Also it nice to have the added storage underneath. We did have a bit of q problem as hubby thought we had 68.5 inches in space, turned out it was a very tight fit, in fact it didn't quite. So we unscrewed the bench, moved one end almost an inch and then it fit. If you have a table and chairs, no problem.Chris P.

I’ve had this couch for a little over 8 months and am already preparing to get rid of it. The canvas material is absolute **** for cleaning—anything that gets into it either comes out very easily or stains it permanently, and there’s no in between. My dog tracked dirt from her paws onto the canvas, and I set to work immediately to get it out. One month later, the little black paw marks are still there, even after paying to have the couch professionally cleaned. If you have pets or small children, or if you’re using the couch for regular use (and not decoration), I highly recommend a different couch, particularly a different fabric.Joy

Very nice, and plenty big enough for my 95lb pitbull, even shared with my little english bulldog. That is when she allows him on it.I've added support to bear the extra weight with no problem. It's easy to clean and doesn't hold that doggy smell. That was the big problem I had. My dogs have also stopped jumping on my couch preferring their own. I plan to buy another for my older pitbull. Bed looks nice, but is soo hard! What was supposed to be the best bed (and the most expensive) was the worst! It gave my dog bed sores!!! misleading picture, they show two dogs fitting comfortably on the bed with extra space to spare. That is not the case. If my 60lb dog layed sideways, she was out of room. Very hard/firm to the touch, not soft to lay on. My dog did not seem interested in this bed at all and we had to return. Despite that, the quality seemed durable and has a nice look to it.Shares

So disappointing, just everything about it. Our kova plus ottoman was in stock and supposed to arrive in 2 weeks. It kept getting delayed and ended up taking a month, leaving us without a couch for two weeks. You have to schedule a delivery after the item is delivered to wherever, so that’s an additional waiting period. Our couch arrived damaged and customer service has been abysmal. They requested so many photos, as if they thought we had purposefully damaged it. They offered $100 refund for a 7 inch gash that goes all the way into the now broken wooden frame. Either that or a replacement piece where we are responsible to ship back the damaged piece. It was sooo hard to put together, and it’s not perfectly together still, but it was the best we could do. We’re also super disappointed with how uncomfortable the couch is. We expected it to be very soft but the cushions are stiff except the ottoman and slide all over the place. It’s pretty but that’s it, expected much more from an almost $3000 couch. Would send it back if it wasn’t so much of a pain.Kylie Penland

I wish I had this review when I was considering purchasing. If you have kids and or are considering this sofa for daily use – I would really reconsider…I have had two of the Timber Charme sofas for 8 months and here is my honest review – I went out on a limb and bought two of these for my living room. I loved the design and price point so took a chance on this highly rated company. Right out of the box, these are gorgeous sofas – they are not large scale, so we needed two to fill our living room which was fine. The seat is ok and the leather looks nice out of the box. Color is gorgeous and the leather smell is amazing. Our first challenge with the sofa was the first spill from a kids water cup. Some of the water spills seem to dissipate and some stain the leather. It’s very odd. We knew we were getting full analin leather so were prepared for “patina” but our sofa mostly just looks very dirty from the spills. The side cushions never stay in place and always look messy. Also, about 5 months old and they started to fade. I even bought a bunch of the leather cleaner and oil from Otterwax to clean and treat our sofas as some have recommended. These made them shine (did not take out any stains even though I spent a lot of time looking up tips!) and brought the color back for a month or so, but they are faded again as I’m writing this. I really tried to love these couches for the over all design element they added to our living room, but they are not practical and are not high enough quality for daily use. Then, one of the legs just broke after my husband shifted his weight (8 month old couch!!!). We called and Article is sending us a new leg but said it should take some time because it’s coming from overseas! So now I have a stained, faded broken couch that no one can sit on for I don’t know how many weeks! I am kicking myself for purchasing these couches and don’t recommend them to anyone who will actually use it…I really wanted to like these sofas and support the overall design of the company, unfortunately this product was just too good to be true…Miranda A.
The fabric is very scratchy, not soft at all. And the fabric on the bottom of the couch by the zipper pouch ripped in transit which sucks but at least its not visible. But the biggest thing that's making me nervous about this purchase is that the cushions are crinkly. Like they have a crinkly noise like an old waterproof mattress cover. I didn't read about it in any reviews and it was an unpleasant surprise. I don't want to return the couch but for the money id expect the fabric to be softer and no weird crinkling noise… I'm going to give it a week or so to break in and see what happens but idk… I spent a lot of money on this and am concerned about it. Update: the crinkly noise has faded as the cushions have been broken in, it's still there but not nearly as noticeable. it's handled spot cleaning well and my two demon spawn. I didn't bother trying to fix the tear on the bottom because I was busy and no one will ever see it but support was great about reaching out to me and trying to resolve my issues. I wish the fabric were softer but I love the color and I'll take durability and longevity over soft, a good throw blanket solves that issue but it is still a slight negative for the sofa. Not an issue with the leather one I'm sure. Overall it's a comfy couch with deep seats and seems durable, the price is still high imo but I'm also a broke B. Style is A+ tho and better quality that similar sofas in the same style from other manufacturers. Quality loses a star for the fabric being scratchy but it seems durable and the quality of every other aspect seems good after a few months of daily use. We’ve had our sofa for five months and I wanted to give adequate time to experience this sectional before leaving a review. There are many pros and only one real con, so I’ll start off with the good. The leather is such fantastic quality, buttery smooth and durable. also, the color is stunning. Within the first week our cat left deep claw marks and I thought our brand new couch was ruined! I used the Otter Oil that article recommends and now I can barely see the claw marks and they are superficial. That’s something to say about the durability of the leather! Yes, this leather will get marks on it but that’s something that should be considered before purchasing aniline leather furniture. This couch is also constructed well and I can tell it will last a long time. I’ve seen reviews that mention the back cushions are low, but I personally think they are the right height and we are tall people. It’s also the perfect size for two adults to lounge on and four people to sit comfortably, so it’s a nice size if you have a small living space. The only con is that I feel the back cushions need more filling. I mentioned this in an email to customer service and they told me the cushions needed fluffing especially in areas of the sofa that see a lot of use; however, the couch was pretty new still and no amount of fluffing fixed the issue. In short, this is a great sofa for an amazing price. I spent years looking for a leather sofa and for the price and quality, this cannot be matched.Brittany K.
