Using a cotton ball to remove the residue (and icky stuff), and she clearly hears better. It says it will get rid of bacteria, viruses and is antifungal, which sounds like it ought to cover everything. My kitten has that typical dark brown stuff in her ears. It didn't work better than the standard cat ear cleaners. I used it almost daily for two weeks or so. It loosens the gunk so you can wipe it out but doesn't get rid of it at it's source, which is the whole point. There's new dark brown gunk still being made down in her ears daily. She is an inside only cat and we have no other pets. The vet has now prescribed drops that include a steroid. Hope that finally clears it up.tklp
I rescued a dog. He had bad ear mites, took care of those with mineral oil. Took him to a vet and for the same old make money bit, he had an ear infection. So, he got antibiotics orally. Found this ear rinse for dogs at Walmart by Pet Armor brand. It's priced very reasonably at under five dollars tax an all so it's affordable for most pet parents. We had no choice but to find a safe ear cleaning solution bc our dogs are pitty's with unclipped ears so they're prone to dirt/wounds. I have an English Cocker, with long heavy ears. She is prone to ear infections. My vet recommended this product. I put it into both ear canals, and then rub the top of the ears for 30 seconds, making sure I get that wet, squishy sound. I do it three times a week, and she has not had an ear infection for 2 years! The only negative is that it has a little bit of a chemical/perfume smell while it is still wet. I highly recommend this product. I’ve been using Zymox for years. My terrier mix has Ear Edge Dermatitis. It’s incurable and usually tears up the edges of the ear from constant cell overgrowth (auto immune) and dogs will be plagued with constant ear issues and itching. I've always liked Zymox products, but this one really impressed me! GSD/BC mix has had continual ear issues since having a hematoma drained in her right ear. The ear lays over and is full of thicker tissue which seems to hold in a ton of moisture. My poodle has a lot of ear hair that needs to be cleaned often. In between baths, the smell can get kinda funky. Used this ear rinse to see if it would help and it does. It keeps the waxy smell away longer but it's not mask any existing smells. It's easy enough to use and my dog doesn't seem to mind it too much. I would definitely keep using this product since it keeps the freshness in between baths and if it helps prevent ear infections. I shared this product with my friend with a lab that loves to swim and gets constant ear infections. Hopefully this will work for her too!Jenn
I was given the opportunity to try the Vetericyn plus antimicrobial ear rinse for free. I did like this product over others I've used in the past. Other products have a smell and my dogs walk around smelling like it after getting their ears cleaned. What I like about Vetericyn Plus is that it has no odor to it so my dogs can have clean ears without smelling like chemicals afterwards. I also like that this product is safe in the case that your pet ingests it. I think it did a great job of cleaning out my dogs ears and I haven't noticed any wax build up yet since the last time I used it. I think this is a good product to try!Jackie

I can say the Vetericyn Plus Antimicrobial Ear Rinse is great for my 3 adult cats. It doesn't have a harsh smell and it's not bothersome to them. It worked well with cleaning out their ears. I have two labs. One with short ears and one with long, floppy ears. My short eared lassie has very little trouble with her ears. My laddie, however, often has the yeasty, brown buildup which causes the shaking and scratching. I cleaned his ears and then administered these drops. I have a AKC Brussels Griffon female who has had ear infections since a very young age. The vet has wanted to do surgery on her for a long time. I had her ears cropped because, when born, they were huge! and I could forsee infections coming in her future. She is now 11 years old and that prediction has come true. I'm sure she's had the headaches that go with them. I've tried several ways to keep her ears clean but NEVER stick anything into the ear, used only approved methods of putting drops in, myself, waiting for the VET to do manual digging if needed. This is a serious issue with her, but my other Griffons have not had this issue, only her. After trying several solutions, I have found this product to be most effective in helping relieve her pain and control the ear wax buildup even as good or better than Hydrogen Peroxide without the danger of getting it in her eyes. She tolerates this well as there is no bubbling sound for her to cope with and it helps numb pain. Not a smell to avoid. This product is worth the money if your animal has ear issues as mine has had. My cat has major ear wax/dirt in both ears and it's not ear mites either. It's been a pain to get them clean, she hates me cleaning them. With this product I can put it in and clean her ears out relatively fast and it makes her happy and me too. I definitely would recommend it!!mwtravel3
My labradoodle has recurrent ear "issues" – sometimes infections, sometimes just irritations. I think she developed some resistance to antibiotics, and I think its a bit ridiculous to treat her ears with antibiotics so frequently, so we were looking for an alternative cleanser and treatment. I used the treatment for 10days when we first got it, and that seems to have cleared her ears up. We use the cleanser at least weekly to keep up with keeping her ears clean and happy. She has big floppy ears, and she plays in the woods/streams daily – she's a dirty pup; keeping her ears clean and infection free is a full time job, but this product seems to help. I'll continue to use it frequently. It's easy to use. Not messy or smelly. The dog tolerates it well. The bottle is easy to use – clean off the top part, open, and squirt into the ear canal, massaging down into the base of the ear. I bought this bc my Bella was showing signs of ear distress; being a pit, I know she is susceptible to numerous ailments such as skin irritation, stomach upset, itchy ears, etc. This was the first product I've ever tried for her and I used it after I bathed her. It seems to work very well bc I just used it again on her last night after her bath and she isn't pawing at her ears like she was doing yesterday before her bath. I only use this when needed as 8 fl oz @ $8 is a little steep. Also I dont pour into her ears as the direction says to do but rather soak a cotton ball and insert that into her ear and rub for 10-20 seconds; 20 if she allows me. Then she shakes her head and out flies the cotton ball! Lol, I then take same cotton ball and just wipe her ear flaps. Hope this helps!JenMarie
I have a Lab who is 12-1/2 years old. For the past 12-1/2 years I have fought chronic ear infections to the point of almost giving up. I've taken him to the vet no less than once per year for ear infections and usually we get a prescription that works for a few months and I spend a few hundred dollars for the visit and meds. I took him to the vet a couple of months ago and went through the same old routine then when we finished all of the meds his ear infection came back in the left ear. After it came back I used a couple of different rinses that seemed to help but could not cure it. That's until I found this miracle cure along with the powder it has cleared his ear infection better and probably faster than the prescription meds. After many years of fighting it and finally finding a dry powder dryer I think we've got the cure! Douxo keeps dogs & cats ears clean and trouble free when used a few times a month for regular cleansing of the inner ears. Be sure to wear gloves as it can irritate fingernails and surrounding skin. It's also helpful for hot spots and minor skin irritations.
