This kennel looks great in your home. It’s much more decorative than a traditional crate. And for the price of why not? Well that’s easy. It’s not as functional as a traditional kennel. I read reviews before buying this, and a lot of those reviews stated that their dogs tore this kennel apart. But I thought my dog shouldn’t have a problem with that because she is crate trained. As a matter of fact she went into her old kennel willingly without anyone asking all of the time. It was her safe space I think. Never tried to break out. The price is great especially with free shipping! my chihuahua figured out how to escape from her other crate and caused a huge ruckus in the apt complex. terrible! did not last 16 hrs literally . my puppy was able to chew thru it in no time at all . maybe it's my fault I should have just went with metal and not something nicer looking . There are a few things you need to know about this product before purchasing… 1. It says it can fit a 18-50lb dog in here, but I disagree. It’s a little smaller than I was expecting, so I say a 30lb MAX could fit in here depending on the dog. 2. There is NO bottom piece, ONLY a plastic tray. I was expecting a bottom piece under the plastic tray, but I understand that it is for easy cleanup reasons. Overall, I gave this a 3 out of 5 stars because I’m not as happy with it as I could’ve been. Hopefully it holds up and lasts, we’ll see.Joanne

This crate is very well made, and I put it together in about 20. (and I'm a woman lol!) It you cant figure something out look at the photograph. The only reason I gave it 3 strs is because the description of the dimensions are off. They say the width for the small 24.5. It's not it's 22 inches from the outside wood panels to the other outside wood side panel. The dog will only have 20 inches of width inside the cage (inside measurements from top wood to the other side).So with the company stating it's 24.5 I was thinking it was larger, not the inside dimensions are 4.5 inches less. I'm getting two dogs, so I had to return it for the medium size which states it 32" wide minus 4" should gave the pups 28 " inside or at least I hope so.Jeffrey
We love the size of this kennel. It was easy to put together and looks great with our other furniture. I love that our puppy has plenty of room. We use this specifically during the day when we're gone. She has plenty of room to get up and move around. We also purchased the pad holder which has worked out great and kept the kennel nice and clean. Our puppy can lay at one end of the kennel and go potty on the other. Definitely worth the money!LW

It needs two things. magnets to hold the double doors open when they are not closed, and something at the top of the double doors to hold them tightly closed. Otherwise I love it! Poorly made crate, screws are plastic. Weight recommendation of dogs that would be able to use the crate is overstated. Crate would be appropriate for a dog up to 10 pounds. On the positive side assembly was simply but as previously stated the actual crate is substandard in quality. We love these crates. We’ve had them a few months now and they still look and work as well as they did day one. We have two frenchies who we crate when not home but I was sick of the traditional wire crates in my living room. Not cute! These blend right in. I am able to utilize the top for decorations or a side table in the living room. The material is perfect for cleaning too wipe it down with a rag or take it outside and hose it down for a deep clean. We love these crates. We’ve had them a few months now and they still look and work as well as they did day one. We have two frenchies who we crate when not home but I was sick of the traditional wire crates in my living room. Not cute! These blend right in. I am able to utilize the top for decorations or a side table in the living room. The material is perfect for cleaning too wipe it down with a rag or take it outside and hose it down for a deep clean. My dogs love it! I set it up in minutes – no tools. Slots together, hand tightened boltsscrews and feels solid. As soon as I put their bed inside, my dogs went right in. First night success! 1st experience: It was the first night we got our pup from our breeder & we were worried that it would be a tough night because the pup was use to being with his brothers and sisters. We introduced the crate that same night and our pup was drawn to it. Everyone slept great! Our pup isn't afraid to go in at all. Few things I notice that this crate does well: 1) noise of the crate is soft when the pup pushes on it rather than the typical crate sound where it creates your pup to be anxious 2) Spacing of the holes are good enough for pup to see and reward it with a treat 3) Got the mint color and it brings such a calming vibe – aesthetically pretty too. Would liked to have: A divider and maybe the top to prop open. Customer service: They're quick with same day replies. A good product The Kindtail Pawd is exactly what I wanted in a crate. I wanted something much prettier than the the wire crate, but also quite simplistic and light weight. Some other good looking crates out there are either super heavy, bulky, or have too many unnecessary features for me. I love that the Pawd is truly portable, but still quite sturdy. I appreciate that all the connecting joints of the crate were smooth and fit perfectly together, without having to force pieces together, which shows me that attention to detail was put into the design and execution. I will say that I only bought the Pawd after my dog became full crate trained, and is no longer trying to chew through and escape her area. I don't actually use it to contain her with the door (which very nicely folds completely out of the way), but only as a nice den for my dog to chill in, so I can't speak to its ability to actually keep a dog inside. Like any other plastic crate, I suspect it would not be able to withstand aggressive chewers. I think the price is reasonable.Dee T.
A miracle! When we rescued our 5-month old pup, we were told she was crate trained, but when we brought her home to a generic metal wire crate she refused to go in it let alone rest or sleep in it. She was particularly sensitive to the sound and it was a constant struggle that felt like punishment for her. We hoped the Pawd we purchased would be more appealing to her, but we never expected what actually happened. Only minutes after unpacking the Pawd and Lounger, she walked into the crate on her own and laid down (see photo). It's a miracle. Our pup now has a cozy place of her own and we couldn't be happier. This kennel is strong. The tie-down holes, one per corner, go through both the top half and the bottom half of the kennel, which is an excellent improvement over no tie down holes. Another improvement over the old version is that water cannot collect on top since there are no bowl-like indentations on the top. The door is heavy construction, and can be mounted as Left or Right swing. I put the kennel on the passenger's side of the vehicle so that I can use the empty space behind the driver for carrying a jug of water, leashes, and other stuff. The advertised length is 40", but be aware that the usable length or "inside" length is 33". This is adequate if your dog is 33" or less from the top of the tail to the end of his front nails, while lying in the "sphinx" position. ONE CON: There are no drainage holes in the bottom half. I plan to drill my own (well, get the hubby to do it). A suggestion for the manufacturer: Make a Truck Version of the kennel. It would be the same as this except for two changes: (1) Add drain holes, and (2) Make the top rear panel (opposite the door) from transparent acrylic, so the driver can see through it. This would be a safety feature, as the blind spot would be reduced.Karen
Excellent dog kennel/crate, easy to assemble and relatively lightweight, but strong. Came with extra fasteners for the top and bottom sections, which I have put aside for possible future use. Also has nice hand hold areas underneath the rim on both sides of the kennel for carrying/lifting.

This item was delivered as promised. It was packed to protect the cherry finish, however, the were finish imperfections most likely due to poor handling of the product. When putting this item together (an easy process) we discovered that the wrong hardware had been installed at the bottom of one of the sides and the door opening. No excuse for this error and that's why the 1 star rating. We are returning this item which means we have to disassemble the item and box it to ship back to the supplier for a refund. Since this is a pain in the (you know where) the 1 star also reflects this process. One other item was sending pictures to the manufacturer to show the problem with the wrong hardware having been installed. They were very nice and helpful….but it took time to make the calls, send a picture…send emails and so on. In other words, another pain in the( you know where). We very much liked the looks of this item and the finish goes with our furnishings well. But……this is a classic example of ……" not doing it right the first time"…….therefore, I recommend the several companies we dealt with go to Quality Management School……James

I am THRILLED with my end table/ crate! First, it came within 3 or 4 days of ordering! We ordered it for our boy Rambo because he likes to be to himself once in awhile, especially if he doesn't feel well or is scared. (He's a 15 lb. Pomeranian mix.) Well, we were delighted to find that this was so big and that it was made VERY sturdy with quality wood. It took us about half hour to put together and our boy has taken a liking to it. We didn't put the door on-just left it open. Our boy is a rescue and panics if enclosed in a cage. So with the sides and the back having the spindles and the door not on it, he really enjoys going in it. (He now takes his bones in there to chew on.) So we are very pleased with it overall. Very grateful to Hayneedle for having such quality products with such great prices and deals. You are the Best!! I would recommend to anyone who wants a "little place" for their furry baby. These solid wood pet crates are gorgeous and well built! High quality! Deep espresso with a sheen! My 20 year old daughter assembled both in an hour! Great price! My one Yorkie won't come out of this crate -he loves it! Ordered the small and my medium sized Yorkies have plenty of room even with cushions and blankets! Just be ready to make tiny predrilled holes bigger with drill bit little bigger than size of screws or you'll need the Hulk to get screws in! Just be careful not to drill through to other side! I purchased this Newport Pet Crate End Table 2/19/2018. It arrived allot sooner than expected. Easy to put together and it looked just like the web pages pictures. However, the locking latch could've been more sturdy. The wooden bars across the windows were also not as solid as I would've preferred. The first time using it was the evening I received it. When I returned home after 4 hrs.he was at the door when I opened it. I bought this product as a means to contain my pet while I'm away. I use to let him run the house until I returned but in the last 4 weeks there have been too many events taken place while I'm gone. We have a powerfully built 40 pound mutt who can muscle her way out of her old crate by popping the single latched door open. We had to add an extra clip to the door to keep her in the crate, which is a pain getting the clip on and off to let her in and out. She can’t gorse the door on this crate open due to the double latches AND the extra “hook” on the tip that holds the latches in place. We have a chubby chihuahua that is petrified of the wind and storms we have here during the monsoon season… I'ved tried a calming coat and letting her sleep with us but she shakes so badly, no one could get any sleep! I had a feeling this little pink crate might do the trick! At first, she was hesitant to even get in it, but I left her little bed in it and after only 2 days she was laying in there and feeling very secure! We had lots of wind and dust storms the last two nights and son of a gun, there was Baby, tucked in her crate, not bothered by the storm. My 3 year old grandson was over today playing with his toys in it and it's pretty sturdy too! Setting it up took only two minutes right out of the box with no loose parts to worry about. Wow, a crate that is pretty. I don't know if that matters to the pets, but I sure like looking at a blue crate. A baby blue to be exact. This crate is small. The one piece package is easy to open, setup and breakdown for storing and transporting. It weighs 11 lbs. It measures 24 1/2" long x 18" wide and just under 21" high. When closed up the 21" high becomes approximately 3 1/2 inches and latches closed. It doesn't have a carry handle which is disappointing. No divider is included, but really not necessary for a small one door crate. The tray is solid with no imprint as others that I have and that's a plus. The even surface is much easier to clean. The sliding latch is easy and stays in place. I noticed that the paint makes it a tiny bit "thicker" and requires just a little more effort to setup and breakdown than my others. A few spots of paint have chipped off due to this. And because it doesn't have any sharp edges even under these chips; it's nothing of concern, just an observation. Very smooth bars and connections. The crate has a single door which is fine for my pet room, but if you need to move it around or transport in small spaces, you might want one with a double door. I have set this up in my pet rescue room along with my larger crates. I really like this size and plan to put several more of these small crates in the pet room. I see there are pink ones also. And I want one for my own cats because it seems to be a fantastic method for timeouts! Half a star off for not having a carry handle. Purely my hang up, since it's lightweight I can just as easily pick it up by sticking fingers through bars on top, but not too easy when a pet is inside. This was probably the easiest cage I've ever had to put together. It literally folds in on itself and I didn't even have to attach the door. Once I figured out which side had to go up first, it was a breeze. The pink color makes it really cute. Not just a wire dog cage. It is just a cage however. It doesn't have a carrying handle on top, and I'm not sure if it would hold together really well with a dog or two in it and carrying it around. But it is perfect for bed time or when you are training a new puppy or when you are gone. I have 2 yorkie girls and they both fit in it fine and had plenty of room. And the ease of folding it up flat to travel makes it perfect for a portable cage.krmills
