Got this bed for an older 50 lb. dog needing a soft place to lay, also got another 4-5 inch thicker orthopedic bed for her.As soon as we opened and laid this bed out she got on it and didn't get off of it except to go out to the bathroom, then came right back to the bed. It gives a little from her lying on it but I just shake it out to fluff it up. I ordered a Medium, and I'm pretty sure I got a Large. It's bigger than the Medium size bed, and since it's for my kitten, I'm really hoping he grows into it! I have this exact same bed in a medium size that I purchased years ago, and the foam in that one is a LOT thicker than the foam in the one I received from Groupon. I'm not sure if that's a change in production/quality by Furhaven products, but I do wish the foam was thicker, especially for such a large bed. My two dogs, who are very particular about laying on blankets and pillows, both gravitated to this bed as soon as I put it out for them. They love the combination of the orthopedic bed with the soft and fuzzy plush covering on it and will stay there for hours, when they used to only curl up on the couch with a blanket with a human. I ordered this after my 60lb Golden girl refused to leave my sister’s Golden’s bed over the holidays. My sister told me where she got it and I ordered my girl one immediately! It is a nice thick bed with a very soft cover. I got the beige/cream color, which has a little bit more yellow tinge to it than I’d like, but it still matches our home decor & her hair color the best out of the options. My cocker uses this as a play mat in the living room. Since he is not allowed on the sofa or carpet, this pad is for him to sit/lay comfortably while he hangs out with the family. It's padded enough to keep him comfortable and happy on the hard ceramic floors of our house. I've noticed that it's not padded enough for him to sleep comfortably through the night. After 3 or 4 hours, he'll go to his plush bed to get real sleep. My dog loved the mat as soon at it arrive. He knew it was his right when I was taking it out of the box. The mat arrived quickly and packaged well. No damage and in perfect condition. Once I took it out of the plastic and set it on the floor, it was ready to go. As a play mat, it can't be better. it's stain and odor resistant. My dog has oily skin that tends to be on the smellier side and I don't really see it affecting the mat much. The mat is black so I can't see the oily shadow that would usually appear on other dog beds I buy for my dog. The bottom is slip resistant. My cocker sheds and I like that the hairs don't stick to it. I can easily vacuum the mat with the crevice tool on my vacuum. I've had it a month and other than the rawhide/saliva marks that are left on it after a couple long chewing sessions, the bed still looks new. I just take some water, a toothbruch, and baby wipes to the rawhide/saliva marks and after some light brushing and wiping, it's clean again. I want to get a smaller one for my car. Excellent product. Have Midwest brand crates for greyhounds and no previous crate beds compares to this one. I have four of these beds now and am very pleased with overall quality. Perfect fit, doesn't move around, dogs love the bumper sides, and can be made more nest-like with addition of soft blanket. I have a basset hound that weighs about 70 pounds. Needed a large bed because of her weight and size. This bed seems to hold her well without flattening out . It has a lot of full which makes it a little on the high side for my dogs short legs but she is able to get on it fairly easily. A dog with taller legs would have no problem . I am giving this one star because the material seems durable and easy to clean. What I received is not comparable to the bed pictured. In the picture, the bed is at least 3-4 inches thick. The one we received had little to no fill, so it is about 1 inch thick, like fabric with no stuffing. To ad insult to injury, the CS for this company told me I would be paying for the return and restocking as they have never had complaints about this item. So, in an attempt not to lose any more money, we are simply using this as an underlayment for another bed.Diane

The first night of sleeping on this bed was the best night for me…why…because He didn't wake me up until 9am instead of 7:30 am to go out to potty. The "cooling" side of the mattress is a lie. I know how cooling mattresses looks like and yours just have the color but not a cooling layer. My dog is very hot in his new bed during hot days and sleeps on the floor. Therefore, I feel cheated for having paid almost $50 for this bed. Also, the cover material is synthetic which naturally created heat and on top of a synthetic sponge creates a really too hot environment for my dog. The material is slippery so my elderly dog can hardly get up. The only reason I gave two stars is that the shape and height are good. Still, sizes you provide are inadequate and not a reflection of dog needs which is strange when Furheaven is in this business. My Yorki is a normal size. Yet, when I bought small which you recommend according to the size and weight chart as well as the sleeping area measurements you provided,he can fit well provided he is all the time in something like a fetus position and he doesn't move much. He cannot stretch or lie down in such a way so as to have at least an inch of space between himself and the sides of the bed. Dogs sometimes sleep in a stretched position and do need some extra space. Dogs also move during the sleep, swirl around, wiggle. So I had to get him a medium size which is really too big for him and the space where we keep it in our apartment but I am happy he has some extra space. Humans don't sleep in beds which are exactly their size. Standard beds even if a twin size have some extra space on all four sides because nobody stays in one position during the night. We absolutely LOVE this bed!!! It is extremely well made with separate zippered compartments for the bolster and bed padding. This makes it very easy to wash the cover and not the padding. I highly recommend the "Convoluted Orthopedic Foam" Mattress. As we live in California where the weather is warmer, the "Quilted" Cover material has been perfect all year round. This is actually our second bed that we bought. The first bed we bought for our an older dog who was starting to get arthritis and have back issues. We felt this bed greatly reduced his symptoms and made his last years much more comfortable. At a certain point we ordered a replacement cover for the first bed. It was still in such great condition when he passed that we could not get rid of it. Our new puppy found the bed and claimed it as her own. We got our dog bed 6 ish years ago and it's a favorite with our fur family. The sun and washing has lightened it but the stitching and zipper have held up amazing. We did add a piece of memory foam to the middle for our 14 year old dog when he was spending longer days on it (fit no worries). We're getting another but the first one has lots of life left in it. Just bought a new crate and our existing bed is the wrong shape so I bought this at the same time. It has two little elastic loops at one end, but I'm pretty sure that won't hold it in place and I didn't see quite how that was supposed to attach, so I didn't use them. It is quite a bit thinner then I expected (arrived folded double in a plastic envelope) My bony whippets are constantly trying to fold it over and rearrange it to find a comfortable place to lay down so I'll need to buy a second bed with more stuffing to put underneath this one. On the plus side it is a fit for the size of the crate and it is a heavy fabric. It has a tag on it saying it is guaranteed not to bunch up in the wash, so I think it will be okay as a top layer, but I wouldn't buy it again.psh1
I bought this for our new puppy which will be arriving in about a month since Petco was having a sale on it. First impression is great and it looks like it will be very comfortable. I only gave it 4 stars only because I can't comment on how it will hold up, how it will wash, and how durable it will be. This dog pad is soft and just the right amt. of thickness for my use on a leather chair seat. I use it to keep the dog hair off the chair where he likes to sit. The color is light sage and blends well with my decor. I haven't washed it yet, but I would wash it on a regular cycle not the heavy cycle and air dry it. I think it's a bit thin to use in a dog crate. For that purpose, I feel it needs more padding. The price was very good. Delivery fast.KJKJ

Perfect size for our 95 pound Golden Retriever. The outer fabric is denim and very durable and washable. Inner waterproof liner protects memory foam. Our dog is very rough on her beds…she likes to pick up and shake and toss her beds around. This bed is heavy and not easily tossed. I think it will last her a long time. I was so happy to find this item. The description states "Recommended for pets 65 to 110 lbs" but I wanted a dog bed with more body so I purchased this for my two dogs to share – one weighing 45 one weighing 55 pounds. They both take turns using it. I have a few beds at different places on the floor, and was looking for one that was waterproof. This wonderful item is thick, but comfortable enough for my senior dogs, and has a nice cover which unzips on TWO sides making removal and putting back on so easy. (If you have struggled with those pads that require stuffing in the inner pad you know what I mean.) The outer cover washes nicely (I zip it almost completely closed and wash on gentle, being careful not to catch any loose threads into the zipper.) There is a separate inner cover made of a plastic type material which also zips on, but you probably would not be taking that off as you could wipe it clean if needed. You can wash the outside of the bed fan but the inside is a paper bag filled with chopped up foam that can't be washed. i dont about everyione but I'll bet there goes outside and gets stinky. why would you sell a bed without a serviceable liner in it. I am thinking about throwing the inside bag away and buying another bed from a dufferent company that i can put inside that can be washed. The problem is that dog loves it ir i would throw it away. i have resirted to putting a large garbage bag over the stinky part so she can still use it until I can do better. To much work. This probably isn’t the review you’d expect, but my daughter LOVES this bed. When she was a few months old, we went on a family vacation and in lieu of spending $180 for a DockATot, we purchased this instead. This bed has literally been her obsession since that trip. Any time she sees it (even when I bring it downstairs to wash), she starts panting like a dog and rushes over to try and lay on it. We used it past the vacation and put it into her crib at home. She’s 20 months old now, and we’re trying to transition her to a toddler bed, but she keeps tossing and turning all night because she loves this dang dog bed so much and her regular toddler mattress just isn’t good enough for her. I came here to figure out what the minky fabric is that covers this darn bed so I can buy a fitted sheet of the same/similar texture to try and appease her and figured I would leave a review while I was here. We bought an extra when she was in daycare because she was having a rough time during nap time. Ohhh the laughs we got when I brought the dog bed in.. but it worked and she went right to sleep!Heather

They are making them smaller and the height is only 6 in compared to what the dimensions on the site saying 8 inches tall, they should be careful about that.
