Dachsie Mailboxes and Signs
 After a
successful 33-year career with IBM, Al Raden
decided that he wanted to spend his retirement
doing something he really enjoyed. BrandyDesigns,
founded in 2001, is the result. With a bit of
artistic guidance from his wife and children, Al
designs and fabricates what he calls "Useful art"
and we call "Fabulous dachsie stuff" in his home
in Boca Raton, Florida.
BrandyDesigns is
named after Brandy, Al's first Dachshund and best friend.
She was the inspiration for his first product, the Red
Dachshund Mailbox. Al and his family now have four
dachshunds, three of them rescues.
Each of Al's pieces
is handmade and unique. They are light years beyond the
machine-made pieces sold elsewhere! Al is donating a
portion of each sale to Almost Home.
Welcome Signs
A BrandyDesigns Welcome
Sign begins with a decorative wood figure, which Al designs,
fabricates, and paints by hand. The word "Welcome" on the sign
is cut from a separate piece of wood, and glued to the sign. Al
uses high-quality acrylic paints, and four coats of clear coat
are applied to ensure long life. Since each figure is hand
painted and unique, there will be minor variations. Each sign is
ready to hang, including a hanger on the back.
Al can
provide the welcome signs in English (Welcome), Italian (Benvenuto),
Spanish (Bienvenido), French (Bienvenue), and German (Willkommen).

MAILBOX
Each
BrandyDesigns Mailbox is customized with a decorative
wood figure, which Al designs, fabricates and paints by hand.
The figures and mailbox are painted on both sides. Al uses
high-quality acrylic paints, and four coats of clear coat are
applied to the figure and to the painting on the mailbox to
ensure long life. Since each figure is hand painted and unique,
there will be minor variations. Al uses U.S.-made aluminum
mailboxes that meet USPS regulations.
